oh god... ~she swoons~
We have. Did you know there are vegetarian hot dogs now? They are really good!Do you hot dog connoisseurs ever chop them up and put them in baked beans?
Hmmm... can't do the bacon, not sure about the onion rings, but maybe pineapple. Is it like a topping?Of course, I do! Although I really like baked beans with bacon, pineapple and those crispy Frenches onion rings...
Yes, I usually buy a package every summer for barbecue season. But I'm thinking I need them for my baked beans. The vegetarian hot dogs are very much like what I remember the real ones to be like, except they don't puff up when they cook. But they taste the same, I think, and they're probably just as unhealthy as the real ones.We have. Did you know there are vegetarian hot dogs now? They are really good!
Yum that sounds good! I have a new package of Nathan's hot dogs so I may do that tomorrow. If you'd split the hot dogs in half lengthwise but not all the way thru and lay them on a cookie sheet, top them with your choice flavor of mashed potatoes and grated cheddar or your favorite cheese and bake at 350 til the cheese melts and everything is hot, there's a new way to eat a "dog".They're delish!
They have vegetarian bacon as well. I think it was Morningstar Farm brand that I liked.can't do the bacon
They really are awesome. It also works well if you like polish sausage and with or without sautéed onions.Hope you enjoy!Yum that sounds good! I have a new package of Nathan's hot dogs so I may do that tomorrow.
Tonight another bowl of anti pasta, I had one for lunch as well and last night. That thing was huge!! I also had a cheese sandwich, sharp cheddar thinly sliced on fresh Italian bread.I will have a Krispy Creme donut later on.

The baked muffin corn-masa cups? Those really are good, and a lot faster than rolling out corn tortillas and cooking them one-by-on in cast iron. I may never make regular corn tortillas again! I made 1/3rd batch to try the recipe. I'm wondering if they freeze all right if I make a full batch (24 cups). They would stack well in the freezer....if they don't stick together, or get soggy/mushy after pulling them out. I'm sure you'd have to crisp them up unfilled, or maybe be able to fill and bake.Last night I fixed the baked sopas...and I'll be honest...I can't recall who posted the recipe and pictures.... I have to say a great big thank you because they were wonderful!Even the hubby thought so,and for him to like anything Mexican-ish...wow!I topped the ones I made with fresh salsa, shredded lettuce and sour cream...to die for.And where has masa been all my life!Tonite I'm fixing pot roast and all the trimmings.
My husband tried the Beyond Meat burgers and liked them - he's not even vegetarian so that says a lot for him. I really like the Cowboy Quinoa Veggie burgers from Trader Joe's: What's Good at Trader Joe's?: Trader Joe's Quinoa Cowboy Veggie BurgersBTW, the Beyond Meat burgers are in the grocery stores here in Canada now. But I will probably try them over the summer, again during barbecue season.
Ditto, I did the same for our children when they were young.I used to chop them up in my baked beans when my son was a little boy.
Funny, I don't really miss bacon. Actually, I don't miss meat, except for burgers, and there's lots of good veggie burgers available now, plus I have a couple recipes for good ones too. They have vegetarian bacon as well. I think it was Morningstar Farm brand that I liked.
That sounds yummy. We don't have Trader Joes, so can't try that one. But I have made a black bean quinoa burger that was pretty good.I really like the Cowboy Quinoa Veggie burgers from Trader Joe's: What's Good at Trader Joe's?: Trader Joe's Quinoa Cowboy Veggie Burgers
I had one tonight for dinner on a roll with roasted red pepper hummus, slice of tomato and spinach leaves.
They serve a black bean burger at The Galaxy, a restaurant here in town. My best friend's parents (from childhood) own the restaurant. Her dad has been in the biz on and off since the 60s. He used to serve a cheeseburger with a slice of ham on it at one of his restaurants, it was so good. He called it "The Ham-B". He now serves that at The Galaxy. It makes me nostalgic, as I would attend their church a lot on Sundays after staying all night on Saturday. After church we would eat at their restaurant, always having Ham-Bs, then go to the movies, always a double feature, while her parents worked at the restaurant.Funny, I don't really miss bacon. Are you vegetarian now, M maggiedemi ? Or just trying different vegetarian foods?

I want to be vegetarian, I just haven't made the switch totally yet.Are you vegetarian now, M maggiedemi ? Or just trying different vegetarian foods?
There's no rush, you have to do what is best for you and know what is most important for you or you won't succeed. There are different reasons why people choose to go vegetarian, e.g. some health, others humanitarian, etc. It's okay to start slow, cut out one thing at a time, wait and then eliminate another. That's what I did and I never looked back.I want to be vegetarian, I just haven't made the switch totally yet.
