About Us

TheCatSite.com, or TCS for short, is an online community dedicated to promoting better cat care and cat welfare.

We aim at -

1. Providing cat-related advice to cat owners, with the best interest of the cat in mind. We work hard at helping cats by creating a welcoming and friendly environment where cat owners can come together to learn more about their cats and the best ways to care for them.

2. Creating a lively online community where avid cat lovers can share pictures and stories about their cats as well as develop social interactions with like-minded people. Our fully-moderated site provides a safe haven for these dedicated cat people, for whom their cats are part of the family.

While other large “cat websites” tend to emphasize jokes and funny pictures, at TCS we focus on what’s best for the cats. In that light, we take a clear stand on issues such as spaying & neutering, declawing, and more, and strive to actively educate visitors about proper cat care. This puts TCS head and shoulders above the competition and gives us a unique flavor as a community.

Finally, some numbers...

TCS was established in 2000. As of 2021, we have around 150,000 registered members and over a million unique visitors every month.

If this is your first time around, let us introduce you to what lovers of cats do on this site.

Hi, From the above about section you have written; "While other large “cat websites” tend to emphasize jokes and funny pictures, at TCS we focus on what’s best for the cats. In that light, we take a clear stand on issues such as spaying & neutering, declawing, and more, and strive to actively educate visitors about proper cat care. This puts TCS head and shoulders above the competition and gives us a unique flavor as a community" Can you please clarify what you mean by "taking a stand on issues such as spaying & neutering, declawing"? Also, it is mentioned that you "strive to actively educate visitors about proper cat care". Are the people educating visitors officially educated Veterinarians? I cannot find any information about the qualifications of the site members. Thank you for your answers in advance. Kind regards, Sarah Lindstromm

Hi Sarah, We are a pro spay/neuter and anti-declaw site. As for who's educating - over the years it's been a good mix of people, including - but not limited to - professionals. You can view some of the past experts here- https://thecatsite.com/forums/previous-expert-forums-closed.57/ But mostly, this is a community site. That means that people contribute based on their experience. We have vet techs, ethical breeders, and many seasoned cat rescuers in the community, but we do not vet their credentials. You are welcome to join the community, browse our forums and learn more about the wonderful people who make this community into what it is.

Iam looking to find a loving and caring home for a Siamese cat and her 3 babies. They were born on March 3, 2022. She is not my cat infact she doesn't belong to anyone in my area. She started coming around about 1-2 years ago and I started feeding her. I can't keep her because I live in my family's home and they don't allow animals in their home. Please help me get her and her babies the home they deserve

This is Sakari :petcat:We just adopted her from our local Humane Society on 10-8-19. We are just thrilled on how happy she is. She adapted very quickly once we brought her home.

So glad I found this site. I’ve been reading a lot of comments about ringworm. I took in an orphaned kitten recently. She’s was about 3 weeks old. It was Friday & I couldn’t get her in to the vet till Tues. She has ringworm. I’ve had her for about a month & I have it too. I’ve done tons of research. The cleaning has been a major job for me but I found that using Borax in my laundry keeps from having to use hot water on my fine washables. I use hot for her bedding & the towels I use to wrap her in. We’re both on oral meds. I’ll update as we hopefully heal soon.
