Thanks for sharing this. There was a person on this site from Turkey who was looking for her cats after the big earthquake they had. She managed to find one of her cats after many days, but not the other. I hope she sees this story and stays hopeful. That is such a terrible situation to go through. I pray that she finds her other cat soon.

you have facebook and/or twitter accounts, those would read wide audiences. I shared on twitter. There is a wonderful rescue, #theAleppoCatmen and #ErnestoSanctuary (same entity) on twitter and probably on facebook as well (which I no longer have access to). The founder is an ambulance driver in Syria and he and his associates have a large cat rescue there which has been up and running for years, through the war and earthquakes. They're amazing people. They go out every day looking for animals impacted by these crises. Please share widely.

It is Saturday in my part of the world! Good morning. I miss Banjo. I can understand how upset she is. LOL.
This morning I caught Graham harrassing the budgies Freddie and Mercury again and yelled at her. Then everytime she knows I am upset, she does this:

We had cold rain (and some snow) and horrendous wind on Friday. The top of a very tall tree next door came down landing on live power lines along the ally and our back yard. Lines were down all over the city so power company didn't get here til 10:30 that nite and were here for several hours. All 3 of our Guardian Angel's were working overtime, the tree missed the house just scraping a few shingles from the roof over the back stoop. Could have been very bad. Luckily we never lost power. I thought they would have to at least shut it off while the crew was working but they didn't.
Thanks god you are all okay! and that the power company responded. Glad your power stayed on, too.
I grew up hearing my mom's stories of horrendous weather there in IL -- tornadoes, snow, painful cold and awful heat. We used to be lucky here in CA. No more, as everyone knows. Strange times we're living in!

Wow. Yes, your guardian angels were working overtime. I am so glad that you and everyone else are safe. God bless you. That must have shook you up. There was a large Norewgian Spruce tree behind my house that was not in good shape and despite speaking to the neighbor telling them we thought that tree could topple over in a bad storm and crash into our house, they did absolutely NOTHING!
It was very unnerving when storms came because if that tree fell, it probably crash through my bedroom. 
TG the first thing that was done when the house was sold some years later was that Norwegian Spruce got taken down I signed the biggest sigh of relief ever.

We were supposed to get 8-10" of snow but the storm went south of us and your area got the brunt of it. I'm thankful your house was spared and everyone is safe.

We only got about 3" of heavy, wet snow, but were spared a repeat of the freezing rain and high winds of last week. In 2012, however, we were not so lucky.

Yes, the tree on the left took out part of our garage roof
After the cleanup. The only damage to our neighbor's was one gutter on her garage
But, 2012 was the year that Prancer joined us, so there is that.
