My Feral And Rescued Cats

From Mackie getting to share a crown to our little Prints! Froggie and Banjo did the rescuing and declared him to be a royal little fellow. His expressions speak to my heart. This is what I think they say.

As a new member of the Clowder, Prints worries he might not be loved.

Sort of worried about being missed in the crowd.

It left him with a sinking feeling.

Oh no!

No worries little one. Love is in ample supply here.

Uhhhh. That makes me feel very relaxed!!

I was given a little bed.,

I wasn’t sure about sleeping in a bed but....

It’s a lot more comfortable than outside under a bush!

I can hide behind the sides.

I can also stretch out and don’t need to worry about hiding now.

I get massages before bed!

The neck scratches feel great!!

I get rubbed all over!

The belly rubs are the best.Lol

I like all this!

I can sleep with my new baby mouse!!

I dream of snuggling my mouse.,

He can’t get out of bed, can he?

I’ll hold you tight little mouse!

Yes I can use Banjo's help. My next project is peel-n-stick vinyl plank on part of my basement floor. Does she measure well, and can she help tamp down the vinyl? That is the final big project, and I have plenty of treats!

I had an art teacher who told me that she loved my vision, even though I can't draw to save my life. She liked my sky, water, bird painting. I never forgot her kindness! Still can't draw, but I remember her.

The first time I gave Maggie a toy mouse, she stood on it & tried to rip it in half. Just like I saw her do to a real mouse.

There is nothing more reassuring than being loved and sharing all the good things in life with a friend.

Maria Bayote Maria Bayote The kitty is a tuxedo? Well, if hubby will agree, can he access a Tuxedo? Sneak a tux in , inside a tux? Camouflage! I hope you can get the kitty. We’ll be hoping!

I managed to sneak in the cat. Yay! Still don’t know if its a boy or girl. Any name suggestions? I prefer a name that starts with B.

When my husband got home he was very displeased. He was worried the cat could be carrying a disease or earmites or anything and infect my other cats. We have a small studio apartment so separating them for now is not possible. But I cannot leave him/her out there for another day. He/she is a very sweet and silent cat and just flops down to be belly scratched each time I get near him/her.

Here it is being watched by two of my nosy resident cats.

Maria Bayote Oh! He is beautiful! It looks like your kitties are keeping a bit of distance so maybe that will help. Hopefully he is healthy and you can do some ear checks to look for any dirt or debris from ear mites. Can you get him checked out by a vet soon? Maybe just give him a nice box to place my from the others to sleep in and encourage him to eat and play in that area for now. Until the others accept him, they may keep away at first. Separate feeding dishes and box can really help. Maybe put a sheet over a table to provide a private “new kitty” area?
Names? Lol Sooo many good ones! The first that came to mind was Burberry. The high end designer that has stylish outdoor wear and also a lovely Mohair wool tuxedo! Then I thought of Binary since cats have their own language. Binary code is usually printed in black and white. Lol I guess you will have to get to know him better and keepsaying words until he responds to tell you his name. I am so very glad that you saved him! Such a sweet and lovable one! He must have chosen you to be so relaxed with you. How did you sneak him in? You know, you might consider naming him after your husband. It might smooth some ruffled fur. Form a bond too?

M maggiedemi Many things transpire in a lifteime but I find that the things that stick with me the most are the kindnesses done. I never forget the people who made some kind of effort to bring comfort or joy into my life. Even small gestures make a big impression. I’m glad your teacher noticed that you had a vision.

Isn’t it great that we will all remember you taught Lady the joy of strutting happily and Mackie the joy of faceplants?!?!? Well done!

I had a breakthrough last night to share, my last kitty I took in last March, Ziggy who is 14 years old, and whose owner had died suddenly sat on the couch next to me with one of my others, Mooshoo, for the first time and all was peaceful, while Waffles was belly up under the coffee table reaching up with paws trying to play. They had been cautiously keeping their distance before. Whew I was ecstatic to see friendship advance.

@NY cat man I can just imagine how much fun that was! My grandmother had an old but elaborate piano upstairs where no one ever went and I loved going up there to play it. Long since out of time didn’t matter to me! Lol I have an old player now but it only functions as a regular piano these days. However, it still has that huge brass plate in it! It weighs a ton! Very heavy wood too. I have thought of getting rid of it but NO ONE would ever want to move it. Lol I hate the thought of disassembling it to get it out but it may meet that fate one day. For now I still like having it though. Sometimes I still play around with it. The cats too! Every time I play it, Mackie joins me if he is out. Sometimes he goes solo like he did when he was playing “Tiger Rag.”
Just something neat about pianos.

M maggiedemi My system for naming cats is really just what comes to mind and what the cats respond to when I say the words. Banjo was really hard to name. She is very opinionated and turned up her nose at everything I suggested until I “struck a chord” with her. Lol I had already named Whistle and I guess she wanted a musical name too. I had tried lots of names and when she kept grabbing treats from my hand and running off I suggested she might be a Bandit but she swatted at me. So I started playing with bariatiins on that sound. Bannie...... no....... Banster...... NO! Bongo.........Ewwwww! No! Blanco....? Banjo.... she came to me! Finally the human figured out my real name! That’s pretty much my system for finding out what a cat thinks about names. I let them choose. Even if I like a name, if they don’t respond to it, I change it.

Violet did keep her name when she was adopted. I am not in touch with her family now but I know they loved the name and did not intend to change it. Almost all the kitties from here got to keep their original names.

Banjo does have strong opinions. I love that about her. She is super smart and playful and is always getting into something but since she has to run this whole house, I am very grateful.
She’s pretty tolerant of any hooman mistakes.

Lady did have a snappy comeback. Banjo may be the young head of house but her elders can quickly match wits with her, remind her of cat rules and put her in her place. Fortunately they understand she does a lot of the heavy work and take that into consideration. Lol

I don’t know where Whenallhellbreakslose is but I do hope everything is okay. I noticed as well. We send No posts since November so I am worried. Purrs, hopes, wishes, prayers and love sent!

Hello Jcatbird and M maggiedemi thank you for your concern. I appreciate that. I am sorry I was away for so long. I had a series of bad situations arise that I had to deal with. One of my friends got very sick and was hospitalized, but she is out and doing well now. I am fine healthwise, but had some really bad situations happen which I don't want to get into here. Hope all is well with both of you. Jcatbird your family is still in my thoughts and . I hope they make a full recovery. Sending some .

I had a series of bad situations arise that I had to deal with. One of my friends got very sick and was hospitalized, but she is out and doing well now. I am fine healthwise, but had some really bad situations happen which I don't want to get into.
