I was working today to go through some papers and do some dusting. Hmmm. A mask would be handy. Lol I hope the kitties will either sleep and let me work or help out! A little bit of cat thought interpretation coming up!

I guess kitties have their own way of getting things done! I’m just glad I didn’t let her have the can of furniture polish!

pearl99 Nice to know you got that piano apart! Lol Very creative repurposing the metal plate! I was actually thinking of re using the wood as some kind of cat shelves.

BellaGooch Oh yes!Lady does strut in her dress! She was showing off. She will walk around the house carrying that little dress to ask to wear it! She prefers the pink one with the ruffle skirt! If I shake it, she heard the little bell on it and comes running! Purry likes his too. He did a little cat dance in his that first day. His tail was up and he was stepping high! However, Banjo hasNO interest in dresses. Lol When I tried one on Flowers she just fell over onto her side and stayed there. I think BJ would enjoy one. I just haven’t made my way through trying all the kitties on harnesses yet. Hmmm. If I fed, cleaned boxes and walked each cat for an hour a day...... nope. Not enough hours in the day. Still trying to work on a catio and a closet just for cat harnesses! Maybe I could find a doll closet?

In the case of our piano, it had a better fate. My younger brother learned to play on it, but it needed tuning. The guy they hired offered to buy it on the spot, even though the rubber air hoses had long since hardened and broken. When he got married and bought his own house, my brother had it moved, where it still resides with them.

I just love those pics of the kitties and their harnesses, particularly lady and her dress. It *almost* makes me want to buy one for Ruby. But I suspect she wouldn't be a fan. Besides, if she went outside, I'd worry about fleas and ticks, so I think it's best to leave things the way they are.

Banjo really is helpful, isn't she.

I wish I had saved the piano keys for a decoration. I'd looked on Pinterest to see what to do with an old piano and found the idea for using the harp as a kind of trellis for plants. I took the wires off. Cat shelves would be great!!

N NY cat man That’s so wonderful that the piano is still being loved. I have often wondered what happened to the one at Grandmothers house. Perhaps I’ll hang onto this one a bit longer. I do still enjoy it. Maybe someone else will come along who loves it too. It would only take about six guys to move it.... or maybe a large Clowder? I wonder if Banjo understands about leverage?

rubysmama If Ruby is content then it’s probably better not to start the walks. Once kitties start that, you are in it permanently! Lol She might like a bit of dressing up for a photo op though. Lol Then again, she might not! Some , like Flowers, find a harness is a little like being held prisoner. As we all know, every cat is different. Lady and Purry just happen to enjoy the harness and since they like taking walks, I am really glad they like them!

Banjo is very helpful but with her sense of humor, I don’t think I’ll trust her around the others with the vacuum cleaner!

I do like that you re purposed the piano. The cabinet on this one would make a pretty neat cat house. Lol IF I never had to move it. I wonder if it’s a lot lighter without the metal plate? They don’t make things like that anymore!

M maggiedemi Lady did get that from you. Just imagine if Banjo had jeans! Maybe a jeans harness would suit her? If you get online together, no telling what cute things you would find!

Lari Your Choir teacher failed to teach! I know I don’t have a “singing voice” but I still find myself singing. No teacher should take away the pleasure of singing or learning to train our voices. Not all of us have the tools to be an expert at certain things but the joy of trying and learning should be encouraged. I may not be a song bird but I can sure sound like a cat bird. There is a place for us all. Yes, teachers are human but a teacher should help guide us rather than squashing us. I completely agree that words can do real damage. I hope you sing. I know a certain little one who will find it delightful and comforting. Others will not agree with that Choir teacher.

I want to make sure you see this. Prints joined us recently and he is quite a precious kitty. He arrived in pretty good shape but I did ask him how he managed to eat before I found him. This is what I think he said.

Jcatbird Thank you for sharing. This made me convince more and more that I should be taking in that Tuxedo cat I have been feeding outside despite my husband's opposition. I am now thinking of a way to bring that cat up to a flight of stairs all the way up to my apartment without being seen by nosy neighbors.

That happened to my Dad when he was a kid. The teacher told him to just "move his lips". He never forgot it. Sad to see teachers were still telling kids they couldn't sing decades later. Sorry that happened to you, Lari .

I really doubt Ruby would enjoy wearing a harness, even if it was a pretty frilly dress. So inside only she will remain.

Jcatbird yes Muffin's expression is priceless! They are so expressive aren't they .
I think the piano cabinet would be an awesome cat house! I didn't think of that with mine. It took a lot of Liquid Wrench and muscle to get the bolts out of the metal harp- I bought the piano used in the 1980's so those suckers were in there. The metal piece probably weighed 200 pounds. I should have hired a handyman to do it but needed to not spend the money at that time.

She should have taught me how to read music faster. I couldn't figure out what the note was, then half note or whole note, then get my fingers to the keys in time. It just sounded like bang...bang...bang, instead of a continuous song.

No real change in the news.I am heading down for rest as soon as I post. Sleepy. Last night an electrical outlet went out and I woke up cold!
