    Cat's not-so-good bw results

I got back my cat's bloodwork results. His kidney values were slightly elevated (by .1) and his white blood count was down. I have been working on transitioning him to a raw diet (ground chicken). The vet advised against this, saying it's a high protein diet ,and very taxing for the kidneys...

    Fair share of play time

I have two cats. The one that was here first, is about 9 years old. My new one, about 2 years old, is about half his size. When I try to play with him, he looses interest when she comes around, and starts wanting to play. For example, I was playing with him, and then she woke up from her nap...

    Flea/Tick Treatment

I have two cats; They were given Bravecto, and they are due for their next dose beginning of May. The vet charges me $72/tube, which covers ticks and fleas, and lasts 3 months. Just wondering if there is any cheaper alternatives out there, that will cover both ticks and fleas for them? I see...

Letting indoor cats out on patio

I go in and out a lot, and it seems like my cat wants to go out and explore a bit. I have an enclosed small patio area. My concern is that he may get ticks and fleas. Does anyone else let their indoor cat out for a bit, or is this a bad idea?

Thoughts & recommendations on robo vacs

I found this deal: Wyze Robot Vacuum. It is on sale, and wondering if it is good for cleaning up after cats, in particular litter and cat hair? Does anyone else have a robo vaccum that they like, that they could recommend? Thoughts on this one?

    Cat got spooked

So my (relatively) new cat was looking out the window. She's a year and some months old. There is another cat in my household, that is about 8. They get along. They both have looked out the window together, and have looked outside of the windows individually. This morning, as she was...

    Playtime recommendations

I will admit, I don't play with my cat as much as I probably should. But he is hard to play with. He is about 6 years old. I've attached two images. The first is a stick that has the item seen in the second photo, attached. He likes to attack the small tiny shiny silver piece when it is...

    Cat with Possible IBD

I am told by my Vet. that my 6 year old cat probably has IBD. He throws up a lot, frequently during the week, but no diahrea. He is a picky eater, but seems to be OK with wet food. My vet. would like to do a full panel of bloodwork and an ultrasound. I was told by them that all they could...

    Litter Boxes

I have two cats, and I have two litter boxes at this time. I was told I should have three. I have the two next to each other and was told by the vet. that they might be considered one since they are right next to each other. Would putting a divider between them, then considered two? I don't...

Cat kneading, purring and biting on blanket

I've noticed my kitten will purr madly, knead the blanket, and bite down on it. But my older cat does not do this. Why is he doing this?

    Kitten jumping up onto counters

I would say my issue is two-fold here. But I recently got a kitten. He likes to jump up onto my kitchen counter tops, which I do not like. I've tried putting coffee grounds on the edges, but he still jumps up there and even licks them sometimes. What is the best way to deter him from doing...

    Food Stealing

I just got a kitten (about 6 months old now), and I've had another cat, about 5 years old. The older one eats wet food, since most of his teeth were pulled. The kitten eats kibble. I notice that the kitten likes the other's food, and constantly tries to steal it, even after scolding and...

Preparing To Travel With My Cat

I am going on a 4 hour flight with my cat. Should I not feed him anything, nor let him drink, an hour before hand? Should I feed him while I'm at the airport, on the airplane, etc.? I don't want him to have to go to the bathroom until we arrive at our destination. BTW, when he doesn't have...

    Flying With My Cat

I plan on flying from the west coast to the east and am going to either go with United or Frontier. I noticed on Frontier's website, they have an 8" max height of the traveling container (REF: Family & Pets). Yet, when I look up containers on Amazon, For example, this product: shows it is...

    Freeze Dried Food

I bought some freeze dried food. Do I have to wash my hands after handling it? And is it necessary to wash the bowl after serving it? My cat will take a chunk out of his bowl, and put it on the carpet, break it up, then eat it. Does anybody have a solution to this?

    Cat Health Concerns

I have a tabby cat who is ~3 years old. He has seen multiple vets., and they all said he has a heart murmur. I am not sure of severity or details. Is this common? Any recommendations or questions I should ask? He also has also been diagnosed with stomatitis. The vet said either they'd have...

    Moving Cross Country

I hope this is the right place to post this... We will be moving cross country. I have 1 cat. He is ~15 lbs, and is a tabby. We are going to be doing ~8.5 hour drive sprints at a time. How should I plan my meals/water/bathroom breaks for him? Has anyone done this before? If so, how did you...

    Cat Being Picky About Leftovers

I notice that when my cat gets down to a little bit of food left, he refuses to eat, and comes to me, asking for more food. Is there any reason that he wouldn't finish this? How can I encourage him to finish his food before serving him more?
