orange&white orange&white , I'm planning on (hopefully!) making that wonderful looking cajun rice you shared this weekend or early next week. I even wrote your name next to the ingredients on our shopping list!
Tonight we are trying some chicken thighs (boneless, skinless, super tender) wrapped in bacon cooked at a super low temp (250 deg.F) for about 2 hours. Bacon low cooked isn't usually the best, so once it's done, we plan to remove the bacon, let the chicken rest for 15 minutes or so, and then toss the bacon (cut up) into a pan with various veggies (green beans, zucchini and peppers tonight) as a side. If it's a go, it's on the menu from now on. If it sucks, it's not. Fingers crossed!

The cats are anxiously angrily awaiting some rabbit and organs (boneless meal night) and the dogs are waiting for their tripe and turkey chunks.
For the dogs, we scored some chunks of green tripe that they'll enjoy chewing and tearing through, and I'll enjoy feeding them outdoors and gagging, LOL.

All I knew until I got home from work was that I had a little pork loin thawed that needed to be cooked.

That turned into:

Stir-fried pork with onions and garlic in a soy, rice wine, sesame oil and sriracha sauce, and
Cream of ginger-dill carrot soup.

Enough leftovers for lunch and tomorrow's dinner, too!
This is like food porn, LOL
Looks absolutely awesome!!!

Baked pork chop and something. Probably green beans.

Since hurricane season is slowly expanding, I think I'll do my emergency shopping trip this month. 1 large jar of honey-roasted peanut butter, 6 gallon jugs of water, 1 large jar of instant coffee, 4 boxes of saltines, 12 cans of tuna, 4 jars of preserves, and individual packets of mayo, mustard and relish, and 3 cannisters of lemonade mix. OH...some sterno. No...I have that from last season. I keep those on hand through the season, then start using them up in November so they don't go bad. That just leaves me with bread to buy if a storm is coming.

^Good thinking. We do this pre-winter and it's a heck of an ordeal.

We went out for dinner last night; Rick wasn't over his steak craving so we hit a steak house for ribeyes, baked potatoes, etc.

It's just me tonight, so maybe I'll just call for a pizza. I was supposed to meet a GF for Mexican, but she had to beg off. I wouldn't mind trying one of the new sandwiches at Arby's; I've heard they're really good and haven't been to an Arby's in ages.

I'm either having a very late lunch or a very early dinner.

Baked breaded pork chop. Oven roasted carrots and onion with garlic butter. Pepper-jack cornbread and a cheesy-garlicky mashed potato pancake. This would photograph better with some gravy, but I'm not much of a gravy person.

Ribeye = my signature.

If he can't get over his steak craving, tell him to join our Steak Anonymous meetings. We have had no success, but we try. Kinda =P

OK. That looks amazing and in my world, no gravy is required but a few dashes of hot sauce would be fantastic. I also adore onions and that one looks divine. How did you make it?

I'm a ribeye fan too. Rare with a sprinkling of kosher salt. That's it. I prefer Steak Unanimous meetings. That's where you get together, eat steak, drink good wine and enjoy every second of it with zero guilt because we are happy and do not want to change. All steak lovers welcome. :wave3:

My Sophie is a mama's girl. She's not big on people food but adores steak and hollers until she gets her share. Lily likes it too but prefers turkey breast.

The onion and carrots were tossed in a mixture of olive oil and garlic sautéed in butter. Then just sprinkle with salt and a little pepper and bake for about an hour at 375 degrees. The carrots were turned/flipped half-way through. I did drizzle the cut-side of the onion half with a little extra olive oil about half way through.

I LOVE reverse searing. It's almost an obsession of mine and I've really worked to get it "just right" to order =)
I will be signing up for those Unanimous meetings. They sound right up my alley :spew:

Our cats and dogs LOVE meat, and when we do test meat recipes we have to keep them out of the kitchen if possible! One of our girls if a fanatic about roast beef and learned how to sit up and balance (she has some structural weakness and we taught her this as a kind of "kitty plank"; strengthening that core!) Whenever she knows roast beef is anywhere nearby, she rushes up to us, plunks her butt down, then raises up. It's SO hilarious.

I love anything that involve olive oil, garlic, OR butter, so this is making me go a little crazy.
