  • Usual morning stuff, boxes, tea. I'm about ready to fall asleep at my laptop. It's been so difficult to get any rest during the day with the screaming sprogs. I finally had it and called the police. An officer drove by and said he heard nothing, I replied of course they would tone it down when they saw your car. He then said kids are allowed to play and be loud in the afternoon and I said they are making high-pitched screams that hurt my ears and he said I doubt that and then we argued. He was so rude to me and I ended up crying and only slept about 4 hours total, got up before midnight. I can barely walk because of the pain flare. I wish I could check into a hotel so I could sleep but there is a 75% chance of rain and I am praying it does. Sorry for complaining so much.

Mia6 Mia6 I'm sorry. I am so sorry. :hugs:
The cake was delicious, but I wasn't happy about the frosting. I think I posted about it in the Quarantine Baking thread. I won't use that frosting again. But I definitely will make the cake again. When I served it, I put a good dollop of strawberries on top. Yum.

Our recycling center opened yesterday and it's already full. Rick took everything we had, but the corrugated cardboard, down last night. My co-worker (he's in charge of county recycling) called to tell me it was open and to get our butts down there before everybody else did. That cleaned out about half of our basement! We've been saving stuff forever, it seems. We're going to try to take the cardboard down this morning. We're pretty rural and when we hit the recycling center, there's usually nobody else around.
  • Rick got up with the girls this morning and did the usual stuff. I got up later and am enjoying my coffee now. He will scoop.
  • We'll take the cardboard down to recycling; we have a ton of cardboard, from mailing boxes, to boxes from online ordering.
  • Work outside, until it starts to rain. I think showers are to hit us around 5:00 or so. Rick is doing the strawberry raised bed and I'm still weeding.

So far today I

1) pulled a bucket of garlic mustard and fed it to my neighbor's sheep, who do love to eat it. Win / win situation

Then later today I need to

2) go to the bank, drive up window only (lobby closed, apparently permanently) and cash small income tax refund. Still waiting on stimulus check.
3) as long as I'm going there I'll stop in the IGA and see if any of the absent items from my earlier in week shopping list happen to be available
4) but the REAL reason I'm going out and about is because my friend at the cafe where the knitting group used to meet on Wednesday will give me some sour dough starter, handing it over through the take-out window

  • Regular morning stuff, boxes, tea. Bad flare has subsided. I'll have to take it easy but I can now walk and eat. Kalee and I shared a pizza yesterday and I was able to sleep It rained most of the day. Haven't gotten my chair back yet. I keep getting the runaround from Kelly. She won't text me back unless I tell her that I'm coming up to get it. She texted me yesterday afternoon saying she was at hospital with son who had been a in a dirt bike accident and she would call me when she got home. I told her I could come and get the chair with b.i.l. but she said chair was in Rick's garage, the man who helped her put it together.I don't believe her phone was messed up nor do I believe her son was in a dirt bike accident. I'm going to tell her I will be at her house when she gets off work at 7am. I should have listened to Kaylee when she said Kelly looked alike a crackhead. I am so afraid I won't get it back. Fingers crossed!

Mia6 Mia6 I hope you can get your chair back! And I'm glad you're feeling better.

I think we're going "away" for the weekend. The shed is calling. I'll go out later on and make up the bed for the weekend. I'll stay out there alone tonight and Rick will join me Saturday and Sunday nights. I like being alone out there, too. It's peaceful and calm.

It rained most of the night and we're to get t-storms today. Our temps are to get very close to, if not into, the 80s today. With a cold front coming through later, hence the storms. My SIL called yesterday and said they'll bring my flour up today! I'm going to put it in gallon freezer bags and tuck them into the freezer for storage. Around here, flour is like white gold. It's just not in the stores.
  • My turn to do the breakfast thing, dishwasher, and am sitting back here with my coffee, which tastes particularly good this morning.
  • Working on a bit of laundry as I type.
  • I was going to mow today, but don't know if I can get it done with the rain coming.
  • Do my flour thing.
  • I am really enjoying Elementary.

Thank you, Pam. Oh that sounds lovely. Like going to hotel for the weekend!!

  • Usual morning routine but this time a skunk squirted a few minutes after I got up, phew! The entire downstairs reeked. Got chair back but it took calling police to do so. They said since I willingly gave her chair to do a job it was not a criminal matter. Again the office was rude. He said the most he could do was call her. She didn't pick up but must've seen Wadsworth Police on her caller ID. She came down with the chair within a half hour, apologized and didn't even mention the call. She was very nice and we talked for about 20 mins. I think she and my new neighbor do drugs as Kelly came back down within a half hour and handed Nicole something that was in a Walmart bag. I don't care about that. I do care that the psycho guy who beat up Nicole got out of prison on early release because of COVID19 and is trying to track her down. Daughter called and said she was doing side work for him and he was in background saying "Come home, baby, I'll always love you and if you do, I'll leave Cory alone." She hung up, changed her number, but police said since no one but Nicole heard him say that there is no proof. There is a restraining order for him to not, call, be around, etc her. It rained so I couldn't enjoy chair. Until cushion arrives I'll have to use 2 pillows behind my back and 2 to sit on but I love it.

I'm so glad you got your chair back, Mia6 Mia6 , but wow.

Had anybody been here yesterday when my brother and SIL showed up, they might have thought it was a drug thing. My brother got out of the car, looked at Rick and said, "You got the money?" Rick said, "Yep! You got the stuff?" And my brother said, "Yeah, we got it!" I looked at them and said, "You're both crazy!" And then my SIL looked at me and said, "Your hair!" And I said, "This is what living with your BIL is like!" Rick took his cap off, showed his bald spot, and said, "Well, this is what living with your SIL is like!" My brother is completely bald, so he pointed to his head, and said, "HELLOOOOOO!" (I guess you had to be there.) We all had masks on and we all did social distancing.

Anyway, we didn't get much in the way of t-storms yesterday. Some showers last night and that was it.
I started in with another headache last night. There's no reason. No chocolate, no junk food, no Smirnoff. This morning, it's bad, but I'm planning on getting some things done anyway. Maybe an early night tonight.
  • Rick got up with the girls. I slept in until 8:30, then I got up, too. I need to scoop.
  • I'm going to work on weeding this afternoon.
And that will be my Saturday.

Mia6 Mia6 so glad you got chair back, so wise of you to call police, sorry they so rude, mean everywhere. Yikes, your friend Nicole sounds like she is in serious trouble if I have this pictured correctly. What good does restraining order against horrible sick cad. Who is Cory? Many women get murdered by mentally ill/

Oh, Pam, not another one, groan, so sorry. I hope you can enjoy your holiday weekend in the shed. :hugs: 🌅
Someone posted on the site recently that drinking one cup of coffee, then one cup of tea would cure a migraine?
It's different for everyone. My new neighbor has them and takes a drug that is sublingual. It starts with an M, couldn't
understand her. She took 2 the other day and was so knocked out that she couldn't here her friend pounding at
the door and shouting her name.

I've been sitting in my new chair off and on for the last 2 hours. I am using 6 pillows as the cushion
hasn't arrived. I love it more than I thought I would. Love the red!!

I have my hair in three ponytails under a baseball cap, hee, hee

Cory is her daughter who is working for Mike, Nicole's ex who beat her and is now out of prison, using Cory to
get to Nicole. I wish she had not moved in, way too much drama for me.

  • Usual morning stuff, tea and boxes.Drying a load of smalls, will wash some pillow cases and throws. Read P&P on deck if it doesn't rain. My hair is beyond scandalous. May have it cut this coming week. Love my new chair. It took 6 pillows for me to be able to sit in it. The cushion hasn't arrived yet. Rain is in the forecast all week and temps will drop again but be in the 80s by weekend but rain, groan.🌧⛈☂

After today, we are to have rain pretty much all week, too. Basically spotty, isolated showers, more than anything. It seems very humid this morning. Day 2 of the headache. I did get a lot of weeding done yesterday, though, and plan to work more today. Rick mowed the yard, so that's done for another week. We didn't sleep in the shed this weekend, because I went to bed early.

My hair is really bad, too. I need about 3-4 inches taken off and I need to talk to somebody about doing something with the root growth. I think I'm going to let it go. Or maybe, if it doesn't do too much damage to my hair, have it done so it's grey/silver/white all over. Once it's done, it's done. It's the whole growing-out thing that's making me crazy. I'm going to talk to my stylist, maybe in June or July. Not right now. I don't even think salons are open yet in PA. (Once my SIL got over her shock at seeing the re-growth, even she remarked on how pretty it was. Rick's been saying that all along, but I think he just doesn't want me to pay the money for the monthly color. He says not.)
  • Breakfast for the girls, emptied the dishwasher, and am back here with my coffee. I'll scoop in a bit.
  • Outside work today
  • I really do have to sit down with a list of shrubs and flowers for windowboxes at both sheds and for landscaping around the she-shed. I've been saying this, but I don't get it done. We plan on going to a local nursery tomorrow (Monday) morning. I can plant a few things around the deck, but not a lot yet, because I have to stain the deck first. I have the stain; it's a matter of power-washing and then trying to get a day when it's not windy and it's not going to rain. That's been difficult around here lately. I'll go out to the shed tonight, grab some Garden Gate magazines, check some "thriller, spiller, filler" sites out online and see what I come up with.
The front/western side of the shed gets dappled sunlight, the north area gets no sunlight, and the southern end gets a lot of sunlight. We're not going to do much for the eastern/back side because we don't want to disturb the swale in back because of water drainage, maybe some hosta. Still trying to figure out where the path will be and looking at lighting that will go into deck steps. I want some light, but not a lot, just enough for a wee bit of ambiance. There's a motion dectector light on the shed itself and it shines outward enough that I can see to walk back to the house.

Speaking of motion lights, I was out in the shed last night for an hour or so, just as it was getting dark, watching tv. I got up to come in the house and turned around and the motion light was on. I called Rick in the house to see if he was out there, trying to scare me and he said he was flopped on the sofa. I don't know, maybe deer in the yard.

Pam,

My motion light clicks on when there is a strong breeze or wind. Very touchy. Grey, silver, white all over sounds very pretty but
be sure before you do it. I think you'd look good as a blond with highlights and low lights.
