He's ate a small amount this morning, seems OK. Purring not pooped
The lactoluse is horrible sticky stuff. Was only given a small bottle
Is, he supposed to be on that forever?
I can't find the pumkin I've looked
Applaws do a chicken and pumpkin pouch. Not cheap. He may not even like it
I've been look online for something to help prevent constipation like a priobotic
I've seen protexin and pet purest both say help
So many
Not sure which to try
I’m glad to hear that there seems to be some improvement and that Toby is comfortable. Applaws makes a very high-quality product; however, some of their foods are not nutritionally complete. Having said that I do feed some of their canned food to my cats. It might be worth it to get a couple pouches of that food and see if he would eat it. Right now you want him to start to get some nutrition most of all.
I did look up those probiotics that you mentioned, and they seem similar to products which are sold in the states, but I don’t have any experience with them
He's still sat on my pillow. He hasn't eaten much
Hope he starts eating more soon
I found on amazon applaws chicken and pumpkin pouch
I spoke to the people at pets purest, they recommend pre priobotic powder, they said its all natural nothing nasty in it and it will help
With it been Christmas might have to wait a week to get it
There's always fortiflora
All he ever eats is webbox grain free
I offered him tuna encore but he ignored it
FortiFlora is not the greatest probiotic, but for many cats it is a non-medicinal appetite stimulant. I use Calming Care which is a very close product to it and my cats will at least start to eat anything that it is sprinkled on. You might give FF a try to see if he wants to eat.
Any Good Tips To Get Your Cats To Eat? Share Them Here!
This is a very popular thread about enticing cats to eat. Of course you need to be cautious what you offer to Toby, but there might be something here that would help.
I am not familiar with Webbox, but noticed that they have some liquid cat treats. A lot of cats will respond to this, if you have not tried them already.
I know you are having huge problems with communication with the vets, but I wonder if they would consider an appetite stimulant like Mirataz.
Not heard of that
I have webbox licks. He normally has them but didn't want it last night
I feel. Worried and stressed. I'm. Doing my best
He has a post op check on the 4th Jan
They said take out stitch. If they do his bum could prolapse again, then back to square one
I don't have unlimited funds
I completely understand that this is very difficult and that you have tried on multiple occasions to get this resolved...and that you are paying for all of this care that is not really working.
If he does not eat, call them and ask if an appetite stimulant might be given.
I'm so glad Toby is doing better! <3 As for constipation, do you have Miralax or Restoralax where you are? It's tasteless and can be given mixed with water. It's much less stressful than Lactulose for both Toby and yourself. If you have access to it, 1/8 - 1/4tsp can be mixed with either 1tsp or 1tbsp of water. I like going with the more water option, but 1tsp works well too. How much and how many times a day he gets it can be easily adjusted as well, to give the desire amount of firmness or softness in poop.
Agreed, Lactulose is sticky and awful. My cat hates having to take it. I also dislike how it functions too. Lactulose draws water from the cat into the colon, while Miralax/Restoralax bring the water that you mix it with into the colon. Miralax for Cats: Uses, Dosage, & Side Effects - Cats.com This site has a lot of great info on constipation and has a section about Lactulose and Miralax. Acute Treatment (felineconstipation.org)
Toby refuses the pumkin. He spat it out. I. Got some applaws pouches chicken and pumpkin. Won't eat it
I'm. Watching him close
He's just had a poop. Large. Normal consistency not hard not loose. Formed.. He did push a while though
I don't have a lot of lactoluse. It's horrible and sticky
I'm. Goimg do try a priobotic when it comes in the post
Hope it helps
I don't know what else to do
I've come down with a bug and feel. Pretty sick. Been. Coughing lots and wheezy. Prob stress
Take care of yourself as I am sure that the combination of winter and stress over Toby have run down your immune system. A lot of cats don't care for pumpkin, so don't be upset about that. It is good news that Toby was able to poop and maybe things will start to look up.
I love Toby so much. Lost 2 cats this year. Can't bare to lose Toby. I'm. Panicking he's going to get constipated again. I. Don't have much money and now tobys had 3 surgery's since 24 nov
