Hello,
I am new to this site so thank you in advance for any help or advice.
I was looking for a new adopted cat for my mum who lives in the UK after her previous cat passed away due to a RTA and she was looking for an indoor cat because of this.
I saw a cat advertised and asked if it could be an indoor cat and explained the circumstances and was informed yes she was a lovely cat and could be an indoor cat.
My mum went to pick up the cat 6 weeks ago and she has not come out of hiding behind a very small gap next to the wall unit since :-( . She comes out at night to eat and use the litter tray but apart from that just hisses and hides. We have purchased toys, feliway products, cat beds that have a roof etc. and nothing works. She is in the lounge with the door shut so this is also her only room at present.
I have since researched where she came from and a previous post about this cat said she was part feral and needed a farm home to be re homed. I am a little annoyed about this as had i known i wouldn't have offered my mum this cat as she is retired and would just like some company.
Has anybody else been in this situation and did you have any success?
We are going to see how the next two weeks pan out but are considering re homing to a farm or somewhere more suitable to a feral cat...
Many thanks in advance for any help.
