    Milk!

When I was a kid back in the 60s, giving your cat a bowl of milk was de rigeur... very accepted and most everyone did it.   I remember spending many times watching the cats of my childhood happily lap up a full bowl of milk and walk away satisfied.  Giving them water was unheard of.   They never...

Wet and Raw rotation - any issues?

Right now I have my cats on Holistic Select canned.   I would like them to have some raw in their diet because their are nutrients that canned cannot provide. So maybe one week a month I wanted to feed Rad Cat since that is what I could afford.     My concerns are twofold.   Are their tolerance...

Do cats need more fluids in hot/humid weather ?

I guess cats don`t sweat - at least the way we do.   But would their bodies be losing fluids at a faster clip in order to regulate body temp on hot days.  And if so .... to take this one step further .... how about if they are running a fever - would it be wise to adjust the volume of subQ upward?

Can the folks with experience using pred please give me some advice with it. I understand it acts as a diuretic.   With a cat that is not drinking on their own do you syringe water with the pred or give subqs?  It is important to avoid dehydration and I am afraid that prednisone will make...

Cat hungry but not eating - NOT FINICKY

I want to discuss why a cat would not eat (or eats very little) though it goes to the bowl.   This means the cat has an appetite but for some reason does not chow down normally.    I am not talking about a cat that totally has NO appetite.  I am not talking about a cat being plainly finicky.
