Our Bowie has Wet FIP and need some encouragement!

Did they Felv test as well and he's negative? As FIP can be a complication of FELV. He's a beautiful cat. I'm glad you are fighting for him. Is he on remdesivir? As sometimes that takes more than one course of treatment.

Warning for those of you that adopt or rescue a shelter cat

They don't want other cats exposed to the virus. This is not the same as FIV.

Warning for those of you that adopt or rescue a shelter cat

Many shelters are no longer testing for FIV or FELV. This means anything you adopt from the shelter could expose your current pets to a deadly disease. If shelters are testing, they may only test some cats, and not all. They may not disclose which kittens are tested and which aren't. They may...

Felv- worth the cost of treatment?

My cat has been diagnosed with Felv after being diagnosed with pancreatitis. He has lost a lot of weight. He has enlarged lymph nodes which could be cancerous but could also be related to his pancreatitis. He is eating well for the moment. My question is regarding treatment. There are...

    Syringe fed kitten with constipation

Any remedies or ideas? He last pooped 2 days ago. Should we go to the vet for an enema? He is eating 6 mls every 3 hours of kmr formula. We tried adding Pedialyte but backed off because he was peeing a lot and appears hydrated. He probably just turned 1.5-2 week old. Eyes are open, ears...

    Older cat vomiting water/fluid

My older cat has been vomiting water and fluid. His blood work is normal. His appetite is good. He does have gurgling in his belly and that sometimes proceeds the vomiting of fluid. He does not seem to vomit food and usually throws up clear, slightly brownish liquid. No foam. My trusted vet...

    Cat chewing on electric cords

How do I discourage this? My cat has taken an interest in chewing on electrical cords in order to get attention. He does it mainly when he wants to be fed- 4 times a day. It is very dangerous for him and aggravating for me. I have started locking him in the bathroom when I know we are...

ASPCA Pet Insurance and Wellness plans

Has anyone used them? Any good/positive success stories about reimbursements? I found the yelp page that was all negative reviews and the consumer affairs page which was more positive. I'm just wondering if anyone else has used them and had a mostly positive experience? I read through their...

Demodex gatoi mites in all my cats

All my cats have demodex gatoi. I have tried the lyme sulfur dip. Besides being noxious smelling, it's not really helping. Within 4 days everyone is itching again. I was wondering if anyone has tried flea shampoo containing permethrins? Obviously with a E Collar to prevent ingestion...

    Huge kitten- too much food

My 4 month old kitten is 6 lbs! He was the largest of the litter. Am I feeding him too much? He's a Siamese mix - was a bottle baby abandoned at the shelter with his siblings. Any idea how big he is going to be?

    Heart Disease and Euthanasia question

My 17 year old elderly cat has a heart arrythmia and high blood pressure. He recently went blind from high blood pressure and I expected to put him down at that point, however he stabilized on the blood pressure medication and his vision has returned (if not normal, he can at least still see)...

    Bobtail Kitten with problem-Please help

Could be coccidia or giardia or intestinal parasites. Could be related to her being a Manx but I think that is much less likely. Please see a vet and they can examine a stool sample under the microscope for parasites. I think given her young age, you are likely dealing with a parasite problem.
