    The Tiniest Meow

I have two cats, Meow Meow and Lillie. MM received that name because, as a kitten he was very vocal. He was constantly talking to us. Now he is almost entirely quiet except when he wants to say something to us. His sister is the reverse. She was very quiet until about a year old and is a...

Weird Behavior - Stress Or Health Or Sibling Issues?

I would be careful about diffusers and cats. There are very few scents that can be used safely around cats. So few that I've almost tossed my diffuser. You might want to doublecheck that you haven't been using any scents that cats can't tolerate (most citrus is the one I most remember because...

    Today My Cat....

Climbed into the dish cabinet and pushed every drinking glass off the shelf. I came home to broken glass from one side of the kitchen to the other. Cleaned up and checked both cats paws for any glass pieces. I think they were trying to get at the cat treats that were on the top shelf, and...

    Door Scratching

Thank you. I hissed at him everytime he does it and that worked for about a week. Then I would snap my fingers and he would crawl into bed but that would only last for 30 mins or so. I'm going to buy some double sided tape and cover the door tomorrow and see if that helps. He also tries to...

    Cat Hates Tail After Injury

Is his tail still bare of fur. It could be cold and that could be bothering him (particularly since he is a long hair so it's a big difference). It might be better once the hair grows back in fully. Did the vet x-ray his tail to make sure there was no damage beyond the skin level?

    Door Scratching

my cat incessantly scratches a door by the head of my bed from 2-5am. It leads to a hallway to my shared laundry and a large utility/storage room belonging to the landlord. The cats get out into the hallway/storage room when iso laundry as I can’t shoo them away from the door while carrying...

    Cat Carrier Tips...

I clicker trained my cats to go into the carrier. I also use a top loading carrier as it's easier. I need to wrangle two kitties into one carrier so the clicker and rewarding has been a great way of getting them desensitized to it.

    Digging In Planter Boxes

The bitter apple spray seems to have deterred them from the larger plants. I'm looking to see if there's anything that I can use to cover the planter. Otherwise I may get a set of planters that hand from the wall so I can put them out of reach.

    Little Chewbacca!

It sounds like a cross between meowing and what I call trilling. My cat does the later when there is something just outside her reach that she wants to hunt (bird in a tree, lazer up too high, bug on the roof) I just tried googling and it seems like the correct term for what I mean is...

Hair Everywhere But On The Grooming Brush

I have two cats, a short and medium-long hair. I have tried a variety of grooming tools (glove, wider brushes, smaller brushes, even the furminator). My cats tolerate but do not love being brushed, and won't allow any brushing under their belly. The problem is that I try to brush them...

    Digging In Planter Boxes

Thank you abyeb, that thread was great. I will try some tin foil. I tried a number of chew toys when they were younger but neither is interested in chewing anything aside from plants (and licking plastic but thankfully they never bite at it). They also continue to knead on any blankets...

    Digging In Planter Boxes

I have two generally well-behavioured teenage cats. I've been able to plan around or redirect a few problematic behaviours that have shown up in the last year. Both of my cats enjoy chewing plants. I removed all plants from my house until recently. I use apple spray to keep them of the...
