rubysmama rubysmama The velvet works very well. I mostly used the black but had a piece of red and blue too. It tends to sort of absorb and unwanted reflections of light even with flash.

Cat tongues! Lol I hope Ruby will oblige. Lol

tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 Cats normally look so regal. I think that’s why I love the derpy tongue look. They rarely look silly but when they do, they do it better than anyone!

N NY cat man Miss Eleanor was very considerate! That’s much better than what Lady does. Although Lady is either being considerate or making a statement. She puts all her hair balls in her food dish. :eek2:
Neatness counts, don't you know.

Loving Mickey Loving Mickey If I haven't already, I also extend my heartfelt condolences for your loss of precious Mittens. We miss our loved ones so much when we can no longer see, touch, or hear them, but I hope you also know that it is only for awhile. We will be reunited with our beloveds in due time!
Jcatbird Jcatbird Such gorgeous spots, stripes, floofs...and little pink tails! and your area sounds fascinating. Like most people, I guess, archaeology, paleontology, geology and a lot of those other "ologies" fascinate me. I do hope they leave the precarious areas alone.

tabbytom tabbytom I have left the area of the mines but perhaps nature will settle the land there. I would not venture there now but hope the earth reclaims the place if humans do not. Mother Nature does have a way of healing in time. I believe the laws now would not allow such places to be left open like that. We can hope.

Your country is great! Planning for a beautiful future is something we should all do. That Garden is a shining example for everyone.

Loving Mickey Loving Mickey You know that Mittens is watching over you and Shadow. They always leave a part of their hearts with us when they take a part of ours.,The photo you posted of the two together is precious. Shadow has a Derpy tongue showing!:redheartpump: I do think that Wanda Heart has started packing to come see you. I saw her carrying her unicorn and placing it with her toys in a pile. I think you have put dibs on Wanda Heart now. We just need a suitcase the right size for cat toys. I did give her the hug but she wants to give you purrs for the family. She says they make red carnations sprout.;)

I’ll have more pictures here for you. How do you feel about furry pink flowers? It kind of matches Wanda Hearts pink bunny.

N NY cat man Neatness definitely counts! Maybe Lady is calculating things. No one will be eating her leftovers!

tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 This is an interesting area. I once had car trouble and was sitting on the embankment by the car to wait for help. As I sat there I noticed lots of flaked off pieces of flint. It turned out to be a fascinating wait. The area had been used for making tools. There were thousands of shards there. The owner of the land happened to come by and they told me of finding beautiful spear and arrow points during the tilling of the fields. They preserved what they found to prevent the tractors for damaging them. I ended up getting to see some quratz, flint and agate pieces that were beautifully worked. It was an art form the way they chipped off little flakes of stone to make knives, fishhooks, points and other things needed in daily life. The farmers around there tended to be very respectful of any piece they found. They fully appreciated the work that went into each item. One farmer I knew had put all the items into a small shed he built specifically to house these things. Once inside you felt like you were in a stone building because every inch was covered in tools from the fields he worked. I was always glad that the items found were not left to be destroyed by the machinery that passed above. Each farm contained a museum of sorts. Both tools and a record of the stones found in the area remained as a history of the land and people.

rubysmama rubysmama If you haven’t seen the entry with Mickey and Shadow in the contest, you will want to. It’s a very cute one.

Lari Lari Doubling the congrats on the house!

There is a local formation called 'the ledge' that once was an ancient shore of Lake Ontario. I have found numerous fossils in the limestone that it is composed of, and there are also flint and chert deposits. I have seen places where flint was knapped into tools, and found incomplete arrowheads and spear points. The Senecas are the latest tribe to inhabit the area, but who knows what people preceded them. Also, to our south there is a place called the Penn-Dixie site where people can come to view the fossil history of WNY.

My Gran always saId, "Every drop of rain is the answered prayer of a blade of grass." After four days of non-stop rain, WILL THE GRASS PLEASE SHUT UP FOR AN HOUR OR TWO??? My ferals are MILDEWING! Or would that be "milmewing?"
My sister and her husband live just up the coast from you, in Elizabeth City. I imagine they are enjoying the rain about as much as you are.

I may be very late tomorrow. Not sure. I have an appointment coming up and it may eat up my day. I’ll be back as soon as possible though! I can’t go long without my TCS friends!

I got another chance at the daylily today. Another rainy day so the flower was as wet as the last one but there’s a little less shine this time. Lol Slightly better exposure.

Froggie! Kisses!

This post has the Banjo seal of approval.
:bicolorcat::bluepaw:

Hmmmm. I see Banjo and Froggie have been working a bit of magic here. If you need proof, go up to the photo that has this emoji. :kitty:
It appears that Banjo managed to capture her picture as well as her reflection within a reflection. What will she do next? Uhhh, forget I said that! I’m sure she’ll think of something.

Have a great night everyone! Signed, the human! :heartshape:

N NY cat man I would love to visit that “ledge!” I have some fossils here too. (No, not me. ;))
I have been interested in all sorts or artifacts since I was very young. They do tell us a story. We have another friend here who enjoys them too.
I have found everything from fossil fish, shells , rays teeth, sharks teeth etc. to fossilized tree sap. Lol Amber.
There was a field near us that had some colonial era artifacts too. The area remained occupied until present day. I’ll be trying to look up Penn-Dixie. I love seeing that sort of place!

tabbytom tabbytom Thank you! I love furry flowers. That one smells as pretty as it looks. As a child I often brushed them against my hand. Kitten fur soft!

Hi everyone! I am still getting over the virus but everyday seems a little bit more hopeful than the previous one.

I have a question. During my treatment and quarantine, a friend has been tending to the feral cats. The problem?- We have lost the tom cat. :( He has not been seen since April 7th. I now think I may know the reason why this cat is keeping a low profile. Last week I spotted the meanest young tom cat chasing the females and beating up the male cats over there. He is as cute as a button but has a lousy personality- real pugnacious. I do believe that this young upstart chased O' Malley away. Thomas O'Malley is an old tomcat who doesn't want to fool with this combative mickey-mouse nonsense anymore.

Food doesn't work with this guy so I don't know how I will even be able to set a trap out for him.

Aside from some Trilobites, my best find was a cup coral about 5" long and 3" in diameter at its base.

Hope your day is going well. If you're too late getting back, just get Banjo to post a "Mom's home, but tired, and I'm courting Froggie so can't post for her tonight. Be back tomorrow". Or, you know, something like that. :redheartpump:

There are some feral experts who read/post in this thread, but if no one responds here, perhaps start a new thread. Good luck with him. :crossfingers:
