Beautiful lacy brassieres can easily be made into virus face masks. Just cut in half and move the straps a bit. Mine are black and no one knows undergarment became very elegant covid 19 protectors. Ha ha, it works (though not as well as N95's).:hyper::loveeyes::winkcat: Stay safe!

I would be wondering how effective those would be. I bet no better than the dust masks I have and there is a warning on them that they are NOT protection against biological or chemical agents and that virus is certainly a biological agent. Better check out the effectiveness before cutting up fancy bras.

I got slapped again. :confused2:

Hee hee. Great minds think alike! I was just thinking the same exact thing, my underwear is too expensive! Nobody is cutting it up. Plus they are brand new and really pretty. I couldn't part with them.

In Turkey we are under part time lock down. Many businesses operate some forbidden schools closed and we have weekend lock downs. I've been working from home and there are few people on the streets. I go out once or twice a week for a short walk and groceries. The government first advised against masks for healthy people. Then past 2 weeks they became obligatory in stores etc. Selling masks is forbidden and the government decided they would do rationing but changed on the method. Now ministry of health sends us personal sms so that we can get our share (5 per week and this is paper like surgical masks). They are distributed by pharmacies but pharmacies had no stocks enough for the neighborhood. Today they finally have enough.
Now I'm sitting in my balcony contemplating whether to take my share (I got 3 at home and don't have to use them for more than 30 min per outing) or leaving it so that people who have to go to work may find enough. Also contemplating bra masks now that I've read about it..

It's nice that you are allotted five. We still only get 2 for the week in Korea, which is going to be gross once it gets a little warmer. I have started seeing commercials for "inserts" that are just a thin removable sheet that you add to the mask to protect it from your skin oils/make up, etc. I should probably find those and buy a big pack. My skin is sensitive to the masks. We have students back at our school, so everyone HAS to wear K80 rated masks or above, we can't wear cloth ones (I wear my cloth one on the weekends).

Also, there's so many funny pictures online of people with large breasts showing how making a mask out of their bra won't work (ie covers their entire head 🤣 ) Finding bras in my size is impossible in Korea so each one of mine is precious, I won't be cutting them up--even the ones that are way past their "good by" date. LOL

Health. Health is what’s on my mind! Nothing is the same. Covid (aka covert in my book) has altered my entire life. I had to watch as a vet tech took my kitten into the emergency hospital because he ate a lily leaf. That was heartbreaking to see him go behind closed doors knowing I won’t see him for 2-3 days while they pump him full of fluids to prevent renal failure. This is sadly ironic because my rheumatologist started me on a strong type Med for my arthritis and it may have damaged my kidneys. I have to go, oh wait a minute, I have to telemed her Friday! But I must say, it was so very sad to see my Lucca disappearing through those veterinarian hospital doors: I sat fuming at this ridiculous predicament humanity is in as I watched, helplessly unable to comfort my kitten 😢
