I have a very lengthy, prosPURRous blue/cream laptop warming my legs to the knee. He is in the "liquid" stage, just draped over me on his cat blanket. Makes it very difficult to get up and continue with cleaning the house. The guilt would be unbearable. :tabbycat:
Understand completely! I call it Gypsys Melted Butter Stage. You know what? Back prior to her taking over our hearts and home I use to think people who wouldn't move because of not wanting to disturb a cat were foolish. :dunno: I now understand......:wavey:
You're not alone, I'm not alone.
Too many times I can't move to do other things because Pallina is on my lap and I would feel bad if I moved her.

I'm sure you know the story of the prophet Muhammad and his cat Muezza. Muhammad was so attached to him that on a day Muezza was asleep on Muhammad's robe, and it was time for prayer. Instead of moving the cat off his robe, Muhammad just cut off the sleeve of his robe so Muezza could keep resting.

Thanks again to all... yes, a sleeping lap cat is something we just do not disturb.. The Royals cannot be disturbed.. even when you are having pins & needles in your leg, you have to pee, or have a leg cramp... WE have to endure.. and keep the royal highnesses happy...

On To Artie..
I got a Chewy delivery yesterday. I kept the box out, along with the brown packing paper.
Artie loves both.

He was playing with the paper for a while. Running and sliding on it!! Crazy cat.

I left to go out; returned around 8:30pm. Artie met me at the door as soon as he heard the keys.
He could not wait for me to take my boots off. He started running around, sliding on the paper!! I positioned a ball, just to the side of the paper. He would run on the paper, bat the ball, chase it, jump on the paper, slide-- run into his room, run on top of the paper, slide.. and do it all over again! ~~~ so funny!!

I had to keep re-positioning the ball. Artie kept alternating from one piece of brown paper to the other.. as soon as it was 'set-up'... it was a game, lasting about a half hour.

A cat who is sick will not be acting this way... it was exactly what I needed.. I wish I had a video of this.. so, so, so, cute and funny.

Artie did a min-version, this morning.

I had to put the paper away, in my closet, for the night.. I would have been up all night, if I did not put it away.

He was also so funny this morning.

I got up, he was waiting for me. Took me to the litter box, to pee.. ok..
I told him to 'dig-dig'.. nothing; but he did stand outside his bathroom, and look in. I went in to scoop the pee clump; then I went into the kitchen to draw up his cisapride. I heard him digging. I fast walked over to his bathroom, where I saw him pooping!!

Yup, Artie now insists on a clean litter box for his poop... no pee clumps!!!
OMG...
He does have an extra box in the bathroom..

Then he had the zoomies. Had to play 'chase' before I was able to give him his meds.

What a weird cat...

Antonio65 Antonio65 That is a beloved account and one I use to remind of the tradition of love and respect for, and protection of, the cat!
artiemom artiemom Artie is definitely doing very well! To be 13 and so playful is a wonderful testimony to his feeling well and being loved. And just like with us, it seems, he likes to work out before taking his medicine/eating. Well done, Artie! :redcat:

A lot of places will refund you the full amount if you say your cat won't eat the food or treats, or that he's allergic and can't eat them. I've discovered this personally at many different places since dealing with my cat and dog who are allergic to everything. As long as there's more than half a bag left, full refund.

This condition is what I call "incapussitated."

You are so right! Whatever his underlying issues may be, Artie still has an amazing zest for life, and no intention of going anywhere anytime in the immediate future. I, too, wish you could have gotten video!

Mamanyt1953 Mamanyt1953 *Frequently.* You must know this state of being quite well. Happening now: Substitute a tortoiseshell for the blue/cream, and the situation is the same. :dancingblackcat:

Even though you didn't get a video I can just picture Artie by your vivid explanation. And I totally agree with you, a cat who is sick would not be acting like a comedian.

Artie update:
Artie acted the exact same way, last night, when I came home.. another 20 minutes of sliding on the paper!!! :clapcat: :runningcat:

And he is back to jumping into my bathroom sink?? Wonder what is going on? :dizzycat::climbcat:

As far as his renal blood tests and urinalysis.. NVet agrees with me. I am to let it go, until he goes in for a follow-up appointment.. Nothing is scheduled. It depends on how Artie is feeling. It is day to day with him. If I see anything which bothers me, I am to get him in to see NVet..

I know he needs a rabies booster, in a few months.. so perhaps then.

Another busy day..
finally had taxes done yesterday..
Today, I really need my luxury-- getting my hair done. It is too long. I want it short--with will show off my fat face, but it is really too long and the color is fading, at the roots...

gotta get going.. just wanted to update everyone..
Oh, Artie was a VelcroCat last night, when I came home and during my 'sleep(?)" ...

When I read the words, let it go, which I highlighted I literally broke out singing the song from Frozen. I've watched that movie so many times with our students at school that I know it by heart. Sorry, I just had to interject that thought. On a more serious note, I couldn't agree more with NVet.

Good for you going to do something special for yourself especially after completing the dreaded task of taxes. I hope you enjoy your spa day, i.e. haircut and touching up your roots. :cheerleader:

Does Artie have a box he can play in? I have never met a cat that didn't love a box. Have a nice time getting your hair done. Maybe post a picture of you and Artie afterwards? Did you get a chance to get him some of those baby vienna sausage? You both take care now.
No, I have not been to the grocery store to pick up the Vienna Sausages; but, I will, next week. I did stop at Trader Joes. They have the best Irish Soda Bread ~~ and not expensive.

As far as hair color.. well, lets say that my color exactly matches that of Artie. Yup, not deliberately done. My hairdresser does not know Artie's coloring. It is really the best color for me: Strawberry Blonde... light red base with blonde highlights.. too bad, my hair is so fine and scraggly.. it would look dynamite in long hair.. especially wavy..
Alas, it is short, and shows my fat face.. but, it feels good to have it short. It was too long; weighing me down.

Hate to have my picture taken... absolutely hate it...

If you put Artie and I together, you would swear I colored my hair to match him... but I did not.. it just turned out that way.

My hair is a darker, heartier red in winter. I change with the seasons.. It was time to highlight it. ...Yes, my luxury.. but I really do not have many.. Artie is one: meds, food, etc... and my hair.. my cable/internet... that is about it..

Artie ate really well, today.. Came home, his dish was licked clean = 3/4 small can.. He is sleeping now..

I have a ton of things to do. I am going to finish up having a lazy day.. and perhaps a nap in a few... after I dose Artie with his mid day cisapride.. no poops yet...sigh--waiting..

Artie has tons of boxes.. He used to really take to them.. not any longer.. I left the Chewy box out for him. He ignored it. He would rather the brown packing paper. I gave the box to one of my neighbors, who is moving...Hate to see him go. He has been living her, for a very long time.. longer than I.. and he is below me...sigh..

Aww, that's sweet, a ginger boy and a ginger girl.

Regarding the boxes, with Neely we discovered she liked the cardboard box that holds a 6 pack for bottles. I think I have a picture of it on my computer at home but I'm at my daughter's dog sitting so can't check for awhile.
