So I finished The Distant Hours by Kate Morton yesterday and was really disappointed. The second half of the book was ok, but really 80% of the book itself was very boring and drawn out. Not NEARLY as good as The Forgotten Garden.

Now I'm about 60% through The Art of Mending by Elibeth Berg and I'm really enjoying it. It's a fast read and I have enjoyed many of her books.

A good, easy read, and one I could identify with.

Now going to read After The Fall by Kylie Ladd.

This wasn't an incredibly exciting book, but it was well written, and I enjoyed it.

Now reading The Nobodies Album by Carolyn Parkhurst.

Finished The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton, (which I loved)

Starting Songs Without Words by Ann Packer. Hooked already, was involved from the very first page.

I think this is from my TCS book list (from this thread) too.

What a boring and depressing book... A complete waste of my time, which I wasn't expecting because I enjoyed Lost and Found by the same author. I am begininng to learn that just because I like one book by an author, that I may not like other novels they have written.

Now reading The Lies We Told by Diane Chamberlain.

I finished Life Expectancy by Dean Koontz, was really good. I am now reading The Forensic Book of Murder - have found some nice interesting facts out. I might just read that with the foster cat and have something else for during the day, I have a couple of Val McDermids on my pile, and I Really enjoy her.

This was a REALLY great book!
It had a wonderful storyline, and I didn't want to put it down! Recommended, very much so.

Now reading A Golden Web by Barbara Quick.

Not that great... More for younger readers.

I'm almost done Alexandra, Gone by Anna McPartlin and am REALLY enjoying it, although I did find the beginning a little dry.

I enjoy books written for younger readers so may like it. Wrote down Alexandra Gone, too.

Finished Songs without Words by Ann Packer, last night, LOVED it.

Just starting The Flight of the Maidens. Not sure I will be able to continue, the story sounds intriguing but the choppy way it's written, the sentences don't flow, I am finding annoying. I hope to get used to it but I won't spend too much time trying. Life is too short to read books that I don't enjoy, since I real for pleasure.

Great book, very powerful but I did NOT like the way it ended.

Now reading Her Fearful Symmetry by Audrey Niffenegger.

This book was a little too weird for me, and fairly slow although there were SOME interesting parts.

I finally read and finished Practical Magic by Alice Hoffman. LOVED the movie and really enjoyed the book as well.

Now reading a book I've been waiting for, Sing You Home by Jodi Picoult!

Now reading The Alchemist by Paul Coelho, Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll, and Catalyst by Anne McCaffrey and Elizabeth Scarborough.

Of the three it's Alice who is keeping my attention most.

I like The Alchemist, but someone previously underlined passages on every page, which I find very annoying and distracting.

Another amazing Jodi Picoult book! I absolutely LOVE how her novels show all views of a particular controversial topic and lets you decide for yourself how to feel.

Now reading Still Life by Joy Fielding.

Her books are really good, but the movies take the things that make her books good, and change them.

I just finished reading "Going Dutch" by Katie Fforde. I didn't want that book to end.

Now I'm reading "An Egg on Three Sticks" by Jackie Fischer which I'm enjoying

Thanks for the reminder about Jodi's new book, Kailie. I have reserved it for when my library has it in April. I'm number 24 on the reserve list out of 2 copies. But I cannot afford to buy books right now.
