Right now I'm reading a "guys" book - Every Man's Battle. Its very interesting and helps me understand the guy's battle against sexual sin and how to handle it.

Good for marriages since most marriages face this problem with guys and porn, etc.

Yeah, everyone I know who's read it says it's about the first 100 pages that are sort of, "hmmm.....I wonder when this is going to pick up?" and I was thinking that as well, and then.....yowza.....I got totally hooked.

I am almost finished reading Magic Hour by Kristin Hannah. I've never read any of her novels before, but someone recommended them to me. And, as far as this novel is concerned, I'm really enjoying it. Some of her other books seem to be too romance-y for me, but I'm willing to give another one a try. So far, I'm really enjoying this book and am almost finished -- I'll likely finish this evening before bed. It had me hooked from the first couple of pages and it's held my attention ever since. I'm curious to see how it'll end, but I'm trying to pace myself.

I didn't get to read last week when I was hospitalized as I was too heavily medicated. So, I'm trying to make up for it this week. Without my Nook, I don't know what I'd do. I don't know how I ever lived without it, lol! After this book, I'm not sure what I'll read next. I have a good number of books ready and waiting and so we'll see. But, I'll keep everyone posted. Here's to hoping that this book by Kristin Hannah doesn't let me down in the end...

I DID enjoy this book, although truthfully it is not something I would normally be interested in. The story was very well written, and I really loved the characters. I am not, however, into business, journalism or finances, and found some parts of this book a little dry, however, it was really worth the read.

Now on to book 2 in the trilogy, The Girl Who Played With Fire.

I have finally finished my Johnathan Kellerman book, and am just about to start on a Kathy Reichs book - I like her. Then i have a couple of Dean Koontz books to read, not read any of his for a while, and I might re-read a couple of the ones i have after those rather than the rest of my 'to read' pile. i have also been dipping into a bit of Sherlock Holmes on my phone.

Isn't Lisbeth a fantastic character? When I finished the 3rd book, I felt like I was leaving family behind....his characters really came to life for me.

She really IS awesome and that's what I loved about the 2nd book, I got to know her a lot more. With the way book 2 ended, I had to dive right into book 3.

REALLY loved the story in all 3 of the books, very in dept and well thought out. I liked the characters as well. What I didn't like however was all the political and conspiracy mumbo jumbo... I know that was the basis for the novels, but that stuff bores me to tears. I also didn't like how every woman who came into Blomkvist's life just threw themselves at him and wanted to jump right into bed. I mean please.

All in all though I enjoyed the series, even though there were a few dry spots.

Now reading The Next Queen of Heaven by Gregory Maguire.

I enjoyed that Trilogy too, but preferred books 2 and 3. i also didn't like the women jumping into bed, it happens so much in books/TV, I wish they would stop doing that, it sometimes distracts from the book (especially when you are reading a horror and they put a very detailed scene in - i'm not prudish, but if I wanted that detail, I would read a different kind of book!!).

I have just finished Hideaway by Dean Koontz - very creepy, god knows where he thought up that idea!! Just about to start on Life Expectancy - which I might have read already. Not sure if i will read some of the Dean Koontz I already own after that, or move onto the next author.

What a wonderful book this was! I literally laughed out loud numerous times while reading this. My kind of humour for sure, however there are other, very real emotions involved in this book. Recommended!

Now reading Secret Daughter by Shilpi Somaya Gowda.

Just finished Anne Tyler's latest Noah's Compass. On par with her others, in other words, excellent.

My favorite Anne Tyler remains The Clockwinder, though. Hmmm..maybe I'll read that today.

I am and have always been a very avid reader (my hubby once called me a "voracious" reader *chuckle*). My library contains around 1,800 books, the vast majority of which are paperback Science Fiction / Fantasies. In fact, I have two shelves devoted to Star Trek alone.

My second favorite genre is pet-care related, most of which, go figure, are about cats - and most of those on feline nutrition - but there are few animals that aren't represented.

I just spent the last two weeks re-reading the DragonLance Chronicles and Legends series', including the two followup books, Second Generation and Dragons of Summer Flame (which I finished around 2:00am this morning). Of all the many, many characters I've met and come to love, Raistlin Majere just may be my absolute favorite. Spooky, powerful, misunderstood and driven; what's not to love?

I just finished Awakening by S. J.Bolton, it was on OK read, really interesting story but I got through it in one night.

I'm a big Stephen King fan meow_meow_meow! The Stand is in my top five at least, maybe even top three

The Stand is tied for first place with Gone With the Wind and Clan of the Cave Bear for me.

Have you read the first three in the Dark Tower series? I liked the first four, hated the 5th, wondered what possessed me to get out the 6th, but really enjoyed the 6th and 7th.
