I've been looking around this forum and finally today decided to create an account.
I am a young cat-mother from the South. I always loved cats but my mom has a bad allergy, so I could never get one. I've been living on my own for a while now and I decided to grow my family of one
In February 2016 I adopted Tokki who was 6-8 months at the time. His real age is a mystery, since the shelter put him at 8 mos. but 2 months after he got home he got his adult teeth...
When I adopted Tokki I realized something was wrong with his paws. His inner claws here covered in pus and stinky. Apparently someone was trying to declaw him, but didn't do a very good job and he had a terrible infection. Thank God, the infection got beaten by an antibiotic and he has never had any health issues since then. What he was left with though is a slight aversion to scratching, he never puts his claws out to scratch anything beside his scratching toys.
Other than that, this boy was a perfect "first-time" cat. Gentle, loving (but still quite independent) and smart. His name means "bunny" in Korean, because he's super fluffy and cute, just like bunny's are ;D
In January 2018, Tuna joined the family. I really wanted to give Tokki a playmate, he needed one She has been in the shelter for 3 month before I got her and she is about 7 months old now.
So far Tuna has been a sweet girl with definitely more health issues than Tokki (but that's a topic for a different thread).
I was very scared about introducing them to each other but as you will see below, it only took them 3 days to be best friends.
We're very glad to become a part of this community!
