Answer: Being born FELINE.Surely tarasgirl. I won't fail to do it. Sombra must be wondering what she has dne to deserve so many hugs. View attachment 270169 View attachment 270169
Oh, no apology necessary, golondrina -- I want to know how she is! It sounds as if she is still feeling the effects of the antibiotics. Sometimes it can take a few days to get back to normal, I've experienced. It is good that she is normal in all of her "vital" activities.Well no tarasgirl, I'm afraid Sombra is far from being her normal self. Fortunately in an hour's time she will get the last dose of the antibiotic she has been having for the last 5 days. She has completely recovered from her cold and as I mentioned before she is eating and drinking and using her litterbox quite normally but she is lying down most of the time. She hasn't been lying on my desk or sitting on my computer table as she did normally or following me around. She is not napping on her tree anymore or even climbing on it. . She does still sleep at night on my legs but she doesn't rush to my chest to do her kneading and offer her endless licking kisses when I wake up in the morning. In fact there hasn't been any of it at any time.
I thought I knew all her hiding places but this afternoon she disappeared for a
couple of hours and I couldn't find her. She finally reappeared when I was calling her but I didn't see where she came from. i couldn't help picking her up although I know she doesn't that and then I sat on the sofa with her in my arms. To my surprise she went to sleep with her head and front paws on my chest. I didn't dare move until she woke up some 20 minutes later. It was the only affectionate contact from her since she became ill.
Hopefully she will be herself again when the effect of the antibiotic wears off.
Many thanks tarasgirl for asking about her. Excuse me for the long discourse
Checking in on a cold and rainy CATurday morning here in la-la land to see how you both are doing, golondrina .Thank you mama africa. I hope so too. I miss her presence next to me and her many affectionate gestures.
Thank you, golondrina and I hope you are feeling better soon. I empathize. It can be very difficult to deal with!Sombra has fully recovered from her cold tarasgirl but is taking a while to return to her previous behaviour. She has however resumed her habit of lying on my desk when I'm busy at it and comes to me when I call her. She is not asking to play yet nor is she so affectionate as before although she has deigned to lick my hands occasionally. I wonder sometimes if she thinks I'm responsible for her illness and hasn't yet forgiven me.
As for me I am fine thank you tarasgirl although I'm a bit bothered just now with one of my recurrent back aches.
Thank you again tarasgirl, you are such a kind and sympathetic friend.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed (and Missy her little paws).Sombra is at this very moment enjoying the last rays of today's sunshine on my desk as I type my reply to you, mama africa. Eight days have elapsed since I gave her the last dose of antibiotic but she hasn't yet gone back to her lively active self. Fortunately her appetite is very good, I can tell she enjoys her meals be it the paté ou the dry food. She hasn't lost any weight. She is again enjoying her cat tree and has restarted grooming herself thouroughly. However, she is not running around or wanting to play as she used to do. This worries me. I'm going to wait still another week before asking the vet to take a look at her.
Thank you for asking mama africa. I am not happy about her lack of vitality and it helps to "talk" about it with those who care.
