She doesn’t have to be there when he eats but show him she is offering vulnerability to him.( Temember how I laid in the edge of the woods with BJ? Lol) Put her scent near the food. Gerber 2nd foods all meat baby food, slightly warmed takes time to lick up and carries scent. Feeding always inside the trap , or in my case, using a large crate or carrier that is under a tarp. I put it under a suspended tarp so I could sit concealed near it and shut the door once the kitties trusted eating there. Of all the ferals here, that never failed me, even with trap shy cats. He may also decide after he watches her, to just follow her back inside. Start calling to him! Try leading him back to the garage. If he comes on his own, things will be different. If you can copy this or show it to her, please do along with all the great suggestions from tarasgirl06 I have had some signal/phone problems and could barely post at all last night.

On to the continuing saga of Chez Catbird! The story of the two kitties from the photos last night is that I spotted the little girl on top of my water tank. The little one is not yet much more than a kitten and so very thin. The gray and white make was guarding her. He dared me to approach her. He is also very thin. I have seen him before and tried to get him close but he had obviously been through some tough times. The little girl jumped from the tank and came to me. I was able to pick her up and she immediately snuggled right down into the crook of my arm, head tucked down. The male paced around me. I brought the girl in and grabbed everything I would need. Cage, trap, food, towels, gloves, water bottle with string attached and a flashlight. I got everything set up and put the little one in the cage. I stuck one end of the trap into the cage and left the other end set to triggers shut if the male entered. After a couple of hours in the dark (and mosquitos) I got both kitties. I had already spoken to Pawpurrs human and gotten Pawpurr set up in his bathroom for awhile. We had set up two cages in the house as well. Both kitties are there now, in large cages/Cartier facing each other for company. As it turned out later, the male was not just starving for food but also for human affection. I have held them both and they are as sweet and loving as anyone could want. I have both a flea treatment and Pawpurrs human is in love with both. Lol Me too. The male is now being called Marcus Trax after another cat that saved the life of a kitten. (Bonjour was saved by a grand old feral named Marcus) The little girl has not decided on her name yet. I don’t know if the belong somewhere yet. I have to get them checked for a chip and go through the process of a search. I do not know yet where they will end up but I do know they are safe now. I hope they will check out as healthy. I am nearly certain that Marcus Trax is a cat I have known before and came from the same line as BJ. I am investigating and will keep everyone updated. No matter what I find out as to their history, it is another amazing story of cat love and survival.

tabbytom Banjo is very serious about her treasure. I wonder if she’ll ever try to bury it. I’m always kidding around about panning for gold in the litter boxes but , who with Banjo, knows!!!!!!

rubysmama Banko was a typo but I have made that many times and always caught it before. Kind of funny that my mind missed it this time. Appropriate typo! I laughed when you pointed it out. Glad you did because I would have missed the giggle otherwise.
The treasure box came from Banjo’s friend Gypsy and her mom. They just knew she would fall in love with it since it has frogs on it. It’s Froggie approved!

Arguing with them does the same thing and they will argue until they feel they have won or become very angry. You are very smart. Steer clear.

Banjo was the pickiest cat ever when it came to a name. She refused to even look at me until I hit on Banjo. I tried out dozens of names! I guess she just wanted something dramatic.

I think Fort Knox is pretty empty of gold these days. I think Banjo will do a good job of protecting her treasure. I really hope she doesn’t bury it though. I think she would make me do the digging. Maybe she could recruit Digger who lives with N NY cat man . I understand that Digger is quite the expert at excavating.

I have met some Precious claws. I’m kind of used to paws and claws though. I don’t mind either because I know that sometimes they accidentally come with hugs. I love the hugs.

Oh my! We are at fireworks time again. Unh. The kitties got ready for it by taking naps today. Tonight was not a night for sleeping. I have some before and during photos! Some are just during too. This is a good example of how every cat reacts differently to things. Much like every human is different, every cat is different.

The only excavating that Digger gets to do these days is in the litter box, although she attacks the scratcher with a gusto that is something to behold.
