He is very sore right now, hopefully he feels better soon. I keep telling him that there's no fool like an old fool. He became quite indignant.

He came back tonight. I talked to the night manager today, and he said he saw O'Malley two nights ago which gave me some hope. He is sore and limping a little, he also didn't want to eat much. He ran when he saw my car approaching, but after I yelled out the window to him, he turned back and came running to see me.

He is not going to stay a Tom long. I hate to do this to him because he trust me so much, but something has got to give. I asked Jeff for help last night in getting to the Tom (she knew everyone), and I think she got through to him. At least that is what I believe and nobody is going to take that away from me.

Thank you everyone very much for your concern and well wishes- you are all such wonderful people.

BJ , Mackie and Purry all got the same medicine. She feels it’s allergies rather than something contagious. If they don’t improve, they all go back. I have a wellness check coming up this week and if needed, any kitty that needs to go can take the spot.

He may be indignant and even PO'd for awhile but after that he will thank you! for taking away the raging hormones which will make him safer and healthier and calmer! *PRAYERS* for him to come in from the cold very soon and for his op to be successful!
Jcatbird We had kangaroo rats and pack rats in the Mojave. One of the pack rats had quite a personality. We had a couple of bowls of rabbit pellet around, for the wild cottontails and jackrabbits to enjoy, and he would come up when we were out on the patio, very brazenly, and get into the bowl, munching and packing the pellets into his cheeks, looking at us while doing handstands, with his bright eyes. I named him, and we always loved when he would visit us.

Everyone got tuna and chicken for breakfast this morning. Mackie is getting all the treats he wants. I got him some broths but he isn’t interested in those. I pulled back all the curtains when the sun came out today. Mackie is especially enjoying it. I put his favorite chair where the sun would fall there.
Our smiles are filled with sunshine this evening. I’m going to be spending time snuggling kitties and telling jokes tonight.

The sun finally came out!
I think I’ll take a sunbath.

Oh yeah.

Sun and sugar!

This could make a fellow sleepy!

Ahhhhh. That’s a good spot.

Making biscuits on that one.

There once was a kitty....he met me on a cold night by the fire.

He sat quietly and kept me company in the warm glow of the flames.

You asked me if I had a home.

You gave me good things to eat too. I was shivering.

I liked it when you held me in your coat.

I never wanted to leave.

I was glad you asked me to stay with you.

You told me mouse jokes too! Hehehehe

I’m glad I saw your fire that night.

I’m glad I followed you inside too.

I like my room.

It’s always warm and the sun shines in just right.

And he did take my glasses off. Lol My gentle, laughing giant. He’s probably the most intelligent kitty I’ve ever known. I don’t know where he came from that dark night but I’m so glad he decided to stay!

Mackie is so absolutely gorgeously handsome, like a small wild cat! And yes, his clawage is stupendous *and intimidating*! Truly a special cat (as every cat is, we know!)

Of course he was a no-show last night. It has been unusually warm this last week and will be until Wednesday, so I guess kitten season has begun.

Hope so too. Cat fights are nothing to shrug about, I was always told by my parents to break up any cat fight that I heard going on because they can really hurt one another. He looked like he was worse for wear the other night, I hope he comes back soon.

As far as getting him into my car?- there will be a cat fight alright, with me getting my behind kicked.

I will try but I will also give you a little history on him: Three years ago, two women from a rescue group came over to Hoods to lay out some traps for the twenty cats that resided there. They were successful with 19 of those cats- guess who was the hold out? He would sniff the cages and walk on by. The animal control guy when seeing O'Malley's performance just shook his head and said with a laugh: "You'll never get that old tom."

Like I said, I will certainly try my best.

Another possibility? He will let me pick him up so maybe I should just quickly shove him into a carrier? On second thoughts- no way.
