I really think he is a busy guy kitty. Can you leave food very, very early in the morning? Once the Raccoons eat and leave, they are unlikely to expect a refill. You can usually tell if a Racoon has eaten. They dip their food in the water. It usually leaves a lot of food traces in the water. A possum tends to knock a lot of food off the edge of the plate. Messy because of their facial construction. Styrofoam plates are not good for the environment but if you use them a couple of times you may get a better idea of what eats the food. A fox or dog type animal tends to carry the plate off a ways to eat. A possum shoves the food around and spills stuff. A Raccoon is likely to leave toe marks through the plate. A cat may leave small pinpoint claw marks. A buzzard may leave a v mark cut out in the plate from the beak and will also move the plates around but usually not far. Cats eat neatly from the plate. All clues for you.
Only one female? Spayed? If not, no wonder she is nervous. The kittens are approaching being old enough to get pregnant. Is the female their mom? Another reason for her to be nervous. Female kittens will bring activity. I had mostly females here so I grabbed them up first. BJ was head male and tried to keep other males away. He did it well. If the kittens are male then when they reach maturity, any unneutered males there may try to run them off. Kittens could possibly get adopted if you can catch them. Are these the siblings to the runt you caught? The colony is relatively small right now. If you can stop females from getting pregnant, the colony could settle in to a fairly peaceful state as you get the males fixed. It could buy you time.

No sign of him tonight, I am really getting concern- he has to eat. I am going over to Hoods tomorrow and see if anyone has seen him, too bad the night manager won't be there. I am worried that a younger tom will fatally hurt him. I have no idea where to even begin looking for him. I usually find him over at the parking-lot between nine and tens at night, never during the day. The female is not spayed and she is the mother of the kittens.BJ appears to be younger than O'Malley and in better shape. O'Malley has the beaten down cauliflower ears and one really good eye. He is also going deaf, another sign of old age. :(

We just hope for the best for O'Malley and maybe he's got food from elsewhere and probably found a girlfriend which may take him some time to return. Hope that he's fine return soon :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:

tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 I would saddle Mackie but he’d just buck me off. :flail:BESides when I asked him if I could he said,”neigh!”
He watched Steamboat Willie. He enjoyed it! Lol Watching funny mice is just as nice. That got us through one dose of medicine!

Mamanyt1953 Mamanyt1953 Thanks! Now I have jokes to get us through another three doses! :yess: I don’t know how Mackie understands about mouse jokes but whatever works! I love his reactions. Lol

Furballsmom Furballsmom You should see the face when the medicine goes down! :angrycat: Lol

jefferd18 jefferd18 He may not normally show up in the morning but having a lady making demands can get a guy to change lots of things. If the lady eats somewhere else, she may lead him to eat there. It’s not at all uncommon. Just try to keep your spirits up. Send out “Come back! “ vibes. The old and battleworn ones are the wise ones. Even if a younger tom fought him, chances are, he’ll come back to his usual spot. A fatal injury immediately is unlikely. Wounds happen but the fights are not to the death. They are until someone submits. An old guy knows his limits. Hang in there and keep the routine going. :vibes::redheartpump:

tabbytom tabbytom I tend to feel the same. A girlfriend will keep him busy for awhile.

Albus&minnie Albus&minnie I’m glad you’re back! I hope all is well with you and all the assorted fur babies!!

I was up and running before daylight. Vet visits. We have an opinion that allergies are to blame. Bj has started sneezing, Whistle got a bad cough, Purry and Mackie are still sneezing and coughing. Respectively. We have new meds just to be safe. We may be going back for chest X-rays if things don’t ease off. Whistle sound wheezy. We have air purifier going now, humidifiers I am about to go install and I got extra cans of chicken and tuna. I also got a tube of calorie paste with vitamins if anyone doesn’t eat well. I have seven more litter boxes to clean that I didn’t have time to get this morning before we left. Gotta haul the trash, give meds, and then I may just take a catnap! Banjo is in my lap and she feels so nice and warm! I could snuggle!

Sounds like a day well spent -- cleaning is always good! and then curling with a cat (or more than one!):cloud9::catlove: BLISS!
Mackie could even be venturing into some human's house to eat -- and then staying awhile. Never say "never" even with feral cats. Each cat is an individual and we never know what a cat'll do until a cat'll do it. :geekcat:(Well, isn't more than one cat a group? So aren't they "cattle"? :lol2::think:
Glad Mackie liked the video. He has a lot of beautiful views to look at out the windows! Happy CATurday to you all!

Ha! I guess I’ll be trying to find some good mouse jokes tonight. If anyone knows one..... please send it! I have to dose Mackie again in the morning! We need more mouse jokes to keep my laughing cat happy. The sound of a laughing cat is a wonderful thing! Lol
Here's a few more mouse jokes. 🐭 I guess you can either show the techie cats like Banjo them on your phone, or recite/explain them to the non-techie ones. :catman:

Still no O'Malley. I stayed on the parking-lot last night calling his name for twenty minutes, twice. The other two males came to eat much later than they usually do.

O'Malley is old and every time he goes away during kitten season he comes back limping or with a abscess on him. I worry that a younger tom will fatally wound him. The next time I see him, I am grabbing him.

Is it kitten season now?
:alright: :grouphug2::grouphug::vibes::vibes::vibes::crossfingers:

Yep. It's kitten season. I went outside last night to sit for a few, and was treated to an exhibition of kitty porn. Apparently, they BOTH realized I was there at the same time...two heads swiveled my directions, and four eyes gave me the "DO YOU MIND???" glare. I went back in and left them to it.

Anything like, "Nothing to see here. Now move along." Or maybe, "What has been seen cannot be unseen!":jawdrop:

tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 Cattle do! :flail: Mackie does all sorts of things. He may visit others! He can open the front door. What do you do when they are big enough to reach everything? Lol Fortunately he knows he has to live in his room unless I shut the others away. He has an electric blanket and a view so.... I’d stay in there too if I could just kick back and relax.;)

rubysmama rubysmama Hee hee! The one with the mouse exercising the trap! I know that mouse!! There was one here some years ago ( before so many cats lol) and I kept catching it in a havahart trap. I would take it down the road and let it go. It kept coming back! I had a friend with me one day and we stuck around to watch it. It made a beeline for my garage door and ran right back under the corner!
Thank you for more jokes. I have the evening meds to give out. Mackie always makes me laugh when he reacts to the jokes. He’s a talker too! Thanks for the vibes too. We definitely need them. I hate seeing kitties feeling rough. I am a little tired too.

Mamanyt1953 Mamanyt1953 :hellosmiley:Kitties! Hooman here! I know that look. Bj still gives me that look when he’s snuggling the girls.

dustydiamond1 dustydiamond1 Always appreciate your support for everyone. I hope you are all well too.

I heard from J JaneLuvsCats and Handsome Harry is looking very well now! He has filled out and fluffed up. He’s really enjoying being a beloved house kitty. :yess: Another happy ending and a pretty amazing one. Sometimes all the remote possibilities do come together to form a happy ending.:clapcat: Thank goodness his new Mom spotted him and made such a huge effort to rescue him. He’s a lucky fellow.

Thanks, we are all doing well except we really are missing sunshine. We haven't seen the Sun for more than a total of half an hour since last Sunday. End of the first Caturday in Feburary, hope all had a safe one.

:redheartpump: I love those pictures! Just think though....Spring is coming! I’m looking forward to some sunshine to dustydiamond1 dustydiamond1 It’s been gray and rainy all winter here. Cold and sunny isn’t bad but gray, cold and wet is nasty. Even so, pollen is falling! :headscratch: Flu is rampant here. Maybe the pollen will be done by the time the sun comes out! That would be pleasant!

I ended up taking Whistle to the vet today. His cough sounded pretty bad to me. I asked about using albuterol in a nebulizer but we didn’t see our usual vet. She said they now prescribe something they ship in from Canada but for now, she was prescribing an antihistamine and antibiotics. It’s the same antihistamine my doctor gave me the last time he prescribed something for my breathing problem. I’m not thrilled but going to give it a try. I hope we won’t need it much and that the antibiotics will do the trick. BJ , Mackie and Purry all got the same medicine. She feels it’s allergies rather than something contagious. If they don’t improve, they all go back. I have a wellness check coming up this week and if needed, any kitty that needs to go can take the spot.

Whistle gives us our smile for tonight. Such a brave boy! Mostly. Lol

Wait! I know this place!

Whistle was purring and calm for the vet. He just didn’t like the dog poster. He also missed Banjo. I just didn’t want to risk exposing her to anything. She wasn’t too happy about being left at home but when Whistle returned she snuggled him until he felt like joining her in a couple of zoomies across the top of the kitchen cabinets. Then they helped me clean out the air return for the central heat. I had to retrieve them from the space twice! No kitties! It’s not a good hiding place! The whole point of cleaning it was to keep them from any dust!:climbcat::bicolorcat: They were banished to the cat room until I finished.

I’m off to medicate kitties and then make apologies and tell mouse jokes. Have a great night everyone!:heartshape:

He came back tonight. I talked to the night manager today, and he said he saw O'Malley two nights ago which gave me some hope. He is sore and limping a little, he also didn't want to eat much. He ran when he saw my car approaching, but after I yelled out the window to him, he turned back and came running to see me.

He is not going to stay a Tom long. I hate to do this to him because he trust me so much, but something has got to give. I asked Jeff for help last night in getting to the Tom (she knew everyone), and I think she got through to him. :) At least that is what I believe and nobody is going to take that away from me.

Thank you everyone very much for your concern and well wishes- you are all such wonderful people.
