Mackie appeared when there were a lot of Siamese around. He seems to be sort of mackerel tabby but the kitten I found just after him grew up to appear to be Tonkinese. The Tonkinese is the kitten that I gave to my nephew and he acts a lot like Mackie. Same personality type and very tall. They showed up a decade ago. I don’t think Mackie has any Bengal but who knows. You are quite right that he is very tall. Even the vet remarked on that at the last visit. Kodiak, Liberty, Tortie, Lady, Banjo and Whistle are the only small cats here. 8 to 10 lbs. Banjo and Whistle are still growing though. I think Banjo will be big.

Banjo thinks she is the boss of everything. She’s still expecting to become president. She’s always making me laugh with her attitude and intelligence. She was the Alpha of her litter. Banjo just jumped up to help me write this.

Smokey never had kittens so until I brought in an orphaned litter I didn’t know she was the motherly type either. At her age she took on the whole litter and let them try to nurse! Lol She was a wonderful mother to those kittens even though she couldn’t feed them. She’s a very sweet girl. She acted as Mom to Shakespeare, Theater, Churchill, Domino and Harlequin. Harlequin and Churchill were the first of this rescue to be adopted so they weren’t written about very much here.

Oh! They are beautiful! One of them is right by the cage side. It doesn’t look as scared as the others. Are there three? Those precious little faces! Everyone please pass this news along! Facebook or any other way you can! All three being silver, I wonder about the genetics. Short hair? If I could guess, they are going to be very dedicated and close to their human.
May they have a quick and safe path to loving homes.

Time for a feral and rescue smile? Maybe that will send good vibes towards surya and the new rescues! All rescues can provide smiles to us, I hope someone can provide smiles to them.

I’m working on getting together another thread. I won’t make it one that continues forever. ( I hope) It will be about taking a kitty from being feral to socialized. I would like for others to understand that they can do it too! It can be done! BJ is a great example of how wonderful all kitties are when given a chance. Maybe someone near Surya will join the rescues.

OMG! I love these cats! Tons of purrsonality! I guess these really are BJs’ glasses. I can’t blame him for not wanting to share. After all, they are his very first toy. Even if he did make a spectacle of himself.
Enjoy them BJ. Mom will get another pair for the other kitties as soon as she can.
It really cracks me up that he will actually wear them on his head and he likes it. I tried putting them on the other kitties. Nope! Not one other wanted to wear them.

I hope everyone else can see BJ for what he is. Amazing!

I'm afraid I might have to release them. There are not enough rescue's in Houston to help all the kitties. I may be able to get the mom cat fixed.

The SOS thread is not very popular. I think people find it depressing. I have posted there before. Mamanyt1953 is always very supportive though.

I sent links I found to report this. Child or not, the kitty must be helped. The child must learn how horrible that is to do to any living creature. There is a way to report anonymously too. RSPCA

My friend took the kitty to the vet. It was a full grown black cat. The eyeball was not completely knocked out, my neighbor had told me that it was hanging out. But still, it will probably have to be removed because of lacerations. I am sad for the kitty.
