ANYway, on the subject of feral and rescued cats! Who probably couldn't care much about either of those subjects, happily or otherwise:

*Home improvement projects? says feral/rescued Baby Su. Does that involve salmon at all? As for the nightgown thing, I'm all for it. The less the servant tosses and turns at night, the better I like it.*

Ah, Baby Su is so smart. Straight to the important things in life! :p

O.K. If you are using either a contact adhesive or a trowel-on mastic, there is no need for the sealant, as the adhesive you use will form the moisture barrier. The main thing is that the surface has to be smooth, dry, and free of dust or dirt for good results.

Wiggle room is always a good thing to have! Especially in home improvement projects and nightgowns!

I know quite a bit about the one; not so much about the other.

:flail: I needed that giggle!

Thank you @NY cat man
I will follow your instructions. I am going to have to stop all work until next week though.:gaah::rolleyes3:

We have new visitors on the property. I found some baby termites! :noway:

I have already gotten an inspection done by one company and I have a second scheduled for Monday. The inspector did not find any termites in the house. Whew! However, they recommend a treatment. I killed the termites I found but showed them to the bug guy. They are very small termites. Super little! I have seen many termites but never any this small. I had to examine them under a lupe to be sure of what they were. I only found them because of some ants. Ants can be very beneficial. Anyway, until I decide about possible treatment, all work will stop. I want a second opinion. Fortunately, I had not gone any further. My plywood is fastened with screws and could easily be taken up at this point. I would have to reapply the floor leveler if that happened but hoping that won’t be required. My house has been treated for termites already but they are experts at finding a way in. Better safe than sorry. I guess the cat crew will get a couple of days off. I will have to find some other way to keep Banjo and Whistle occupied. ;)

The best thing about humans and kitties sharing their lives.
Awww, sharing their lives. I like that mental picture. :heartshape:

Along with the pile of kitties I send a Goodnight or good morning everyone!
There's nothing better in life than a kitty pile. :catlove:

Take a huge leap over everything
Ah Whistle, I love a good kitty metaphor. :winkcat:

Well, Jcatbird Jcatbird and M maggiedemi , I guess if if had to happen it's good that it happened now, while you've got everything torn up. Right? *They didn't call me 'Pollyanna' for nothin', yunno*

 I never ask ,”What next?”
I prefer to just enjoy the ,” Nothing right now.” :flail:

Pollyanna was always one of my favorites! A positive spin is the best way to live. Optimism keeps our blood pressure down and a smile on our face.
If you frown you just get frown lines! :p
Optimism made me think I could save a whole bunch of kitties! It worked!

Cats are optimists. They totally believe they CAN get the fly on the ceiling!

If the termite inspector joins us here...... Welcome!
You all know that I share cat information at every opportunity. It turns out that this gentleman has two tuxedo kitties. The kitties are having issues so I offered some tips and suggested that he join us here and request opinions. I hope that the family will be with us here on site.

:kitty:

I just had to share this! Banjo wanted to go in the room I have been working on but since I had to protect it by putting insecticide outside it, I just don’t want the kitties out there for a bit. It’s pouring down rain now and the insecticide may all be washed away but still.... I never risk letting any of the kitties near that stuff. Banjo was not pleased to be shut out of there again. She is a bored kitty.

Here’s the story.

No Banjo. You can’t go in the sunroom.

Why?

Sprayed outside for bugs?

Why can’t I get the bugs?

Don’t believe I could get them all?

Well, I could!

Moooom!
78B0DC44-1CBC-448D-8C24-8E26315E55E9.jpeg

What can a Banjo do now?
A37AF328-E9C6-4FF1-8B37-ED3AAFB75CC1.jpeg

I have an idea. Where’s Whistle?

Uh oh!

Hold still Whistle! You didn’t wash your ears.

Don’t move Whistle.

Yikes! Guessing there're not as cute, or welcome, as cat babies. ;)

Feeding a kitty out in snowy Canada:
All I could think watching that video was that I wouldn't want to have to pay her fuel bill, if it's warm enough to be in bare arms! :cold:

If you can’t beat them, join them!:lol:

Wow, you're right, rubysmama rubysmama ! What a lovely flame point floof she's feeding.
Jcatbird Jcatbird Great that the termites are going to be dealt with, and I share your hope that Mr. Termite Inspector will be joining us here at TCS. Banjo and Whistle are so adorable with their crossed paws and their loving gestures!

Termite babies are only cute to their Mom! Lol

I do hope the inspector will join us. It would be in the behaviour or health forums. Maybe they have already addressed the issue though. I hope it got solved.

We have a new smile and a new milestone! BJ learned how to play today!
:bunnydance::woo::banana1: Finally! :dance:I got really excited! He’s as loving as any living creature could ever be but I kept hoping he would learn about fun. :yess: This just goes to show that even the toughest old feral can learn to play ,given time.

I’m just going to post it as it happened.

This was so sweet! I’m grateful that he finally found the kitten inside him. He can play with my glasses anytime he wants! I’m going to encourage other toys though. Lol I wonder what he thought about the view through the glasses?!?!? I’m glad I was at the right place, at the right time to see him
play. I felt a little kittenish myself. :dancingblackcat::lovecat3:

Yay, BJ. :woohoo:

I'll give you the same suggestion I recently gave another member. Buy a pair of cheap sunglasses/readers from a dollar store.

Ha! The excitement never ends around here. All is well but I am soaking wet and a cat just had a bath after playing slip and slide. We had quite the merry chase around the house. I have to go mop now. :flail: I’ll tell the story tomorrow.
Oh, no. The "adventures" at Chez JCatbird never cease. :dizzycat:

Hope no one was hurt in the "slip and slide" and bath!

The adventures continue.
The kitties did get some of the Royal Canin. Picky cats! Only a few were interested. I am always getting new foods to try but they want FF pate’ . I tried some duck but nobody wanted that. Unh! Most love the kind with shrimp but that is only sold in individual cans. I need bulk! I do give that to them though. Especially Mackie since it is one of the few things that agrees with his tummy. Whistle is a shrimp fiend! He’ll grab my arm and whistle if he thinks that’s coming. :p The kitties seem to understand that if I go out for the day, treats come home with me. I get new foods but I also get some that I know they love. The broths are a favorite with every kitty. That’s the kind that Banjo stole out of the cabinet and hid for a midnight snack. At least she shared!

Yes, anyone who believes cats will just eat one type of food day in, day out, and/or that all cats will eat the same thing, are sorely mistaken (and limiting their cats' joy in life! Good gosh, would anyone human want to eat only one thing all the time?) I buy by the case, too, and the dry is 7# bag. I've never bought the broths because I think if I did, it'd be all over for me  My cats sometimes go on "food strike" when it's hot.

I never, ever get tired of watching Whistle and Banjo interact with each other! SO DANGED STINKIN' SWEET!

Still laughing! Poor kitty had cold paws! Very smart kitty! Where there is a will, there is a way! :yess:
And it looked like the silly woman left the cat food dish OUTSIDE!

I’m grateful that he finally found the kitten inside him. He can play with my glasses anytime he wants!
This isn't really surprising. BJ adores you. Every person has their own, unique scent, and it is stronger behind our ears, where our glasses aborb that, than any other place...with one exception, which shall go nameless here.

I agree about that "same thing for different cats" without a doubt...however, having tried to get Hekitty to eat ANYTHING beside Little Friskies kibbles, and having spent well over $500 on the project over the years, and given that she will only eat two flavors of that kibble (and one of them under protest), I have to say that at least SOME cats will happily eat the same thing all of their lives.

Well, I waited all day for an inspector to show. No show! I called and the inspection had been rescheduled for two days out! Nice of them to inform me! I called every number for the company and by the end of the day I had gotten a head honcho. I also got them waaay down on their estimate if I treat. While I was boiling I scheduled a third inspector and estimate with a competitor. They are supposed to come tomorrow. I won’t give a decision to anyone until all opinions are in along with estimates for a full house treatment for termites along with a guarantee. Banjo says that if I hire the one that didn’t show she’s going to offer to run their company for them.

Last night I decided to be productive doing something else since the sunroom has to wait. I decided to paint. I have a concrete floor in the garage that was painted before so.... new paint! It was late when I stopped and when I opened the door, Purry decided to join me.

I tried to catch him but he shot past me.
His momentum carried him sliding through wet paint and across the room. On his belly! He did a u turn and skidded back towards the door as if on ice. He became a bumper car and ricocheted off everything unti he managed to hit the door and vault back into the main room.
The chase was on!

Until I finally caught a , now ,black and white cat. His tummy was slick with paint so I immediately rubbed off as much as I could with my shirt tail. ( I needed a white shirt anyway. :p)

Even his poor little whiskers! This was one unhappy cat! Uh oh! A bath was required.
D81AFF3B-5031-4306-9D64-F846C0C98662.jpeg

Everything within a four foot radius ended up joining us in the bath water. (Canned food, kibbles, the bottle of hand soap and a sponge, not to mention the white paint.)
24F92A91-7639-403A-A0D4-36489F9F4897.jpeg

Purry is a muscular cat. His Mother was Siamese and he is much larger than she was. It was all I could do to hold him in the water long enough to get him clean. When he growled and caught onto my shoulder he got away. Water, water everywhere. He was on the run again! Lol
I just let him go until he calmed enough to start washing. I wrapped him up in a towel and soaked up the worst or the water. Then I went to paint over all the paw prints and skid marks. Then I scrubbed the door and Flores of paint. Finally I mopped up the water and scrubbed the paint ring out of the sink. I cleaned up all the cat food he managed to grab and pull into the water and I returned everything else to its’ proper place. Before heading for my own shower, I put a slightly damp Purry on a nice heating pad. When I returned, he was purring and back to my normal black kitty. I do love a tuxedo but only if it comes that way. :flail:The room, the cat, the furniture and I recovered. My clothes are now , one of a kind, designer originals. Sorry I didn’t get better photos but the whole adventure was a bit of a blur.
We are resting tonight! :bluepaw::bluepaw::bluepaw::bluepaw::bluepaw::bluepaw::bluepaw:
Purry doesn’t enjoy painting the way Banjo does.:blackcat2::bicolorcat: Banjo didn't get to paint this time but I think she wanted to be in on the fun.
C7BA69FE-D0BE-4A3B-AE2D-57B2892185E7.jpeg

The other kitties were dodging the flying paint and water.

Have an adventurous but dry night everyone. ;):heartshape:
