Hello, all. I'm John from Upstate NY. I'm not new to cats, but I am new to this site.
Unfortunately, I recently lost my cat, Denver, who I was told was a two year old Domestic Long Hair when I adopted him from a local rescue. We had 13 wonderful years together.
Although for a few years prior to Denver's death I swore I'd never get another cat, I lasted a week without a cat in the house. This Monday, I adopted Patches, who is a year and a half year old American Short Hair Tortie girl. She's a rescue from a kill shelter in Tennessee, and had been an owner surrender. She's very shy still, but loves attention, and seems like she's going to be a social cat once she comes out of her shell.
