you guys must all be chem majors.
thanks everyone for their help.
i finally ordered from an american site that mag found. the other wouldn't take credit cards.
this was super expensive, but i think once she's clean, there will be no reinfections in cold weather.
i am happy to report drifter is doing her job.
i surveyed my figs. mice rats n ground squirrels will climb trees to eat my figs.
i have used no poisons since drifter moved in.
i have not lost a single fig this year !!!

See? Drifter is working for her food. Even if she doesn't catch any rodents, she's scaring them off the property. She's a Scarecat (instead of a Scarecrow). :p

So what did you end up ordering? Wormer shouldn't be more than $10.

Orange, Drontal always costs more than $10 since you have to do it twice.

i think i spent around $30, with shipping.
that's dontral, 4 tabs.
HERE'S BREAKING NEWS
drifter now has some shine to her coat, possibly because she's been getting beef fat treats.
it's real hard to see, tho.
she has turned into a furry beast.
she started as a short hair, but now looks more like a panda.
heavy heavy fur.
if this is a sign of how winter is gonna be, i'll be snowed in forever.
probably have to eat the cat.

I hate winter. My cats are getting their winter coats too, probably because they go out in the garage where it's really cold. Orange, do your indoor cats get thick winter coats too?

My girls also have grown a heavy coat. Honeybee has been insisting on being covered in blankets lately..she sleeps on my right side and somehow stuffs herself into my arm pit/side against the couch. feet up and head stuffed into my arm..she's so funny.

Awww, how cute. Does Pumpkin Face cuddle with you like that too? I just saw a photo of her in another thread, she has pretty colors, is she a Calico?

Yes Pumps is a calico and no she is not a lap cat but she will sleep on the couch next to you. She used to curl around your stomach in her younger years. She's 14 now and has bad arthritis and last week came down with an URI which is making her feel miserable. She gets pills and shots not everyday though. my vet gave Pumps convenia injection Tues as she was supposed to get a dental done but they said she was too wheezy and didn't want to put her under..she is now on flovent like Honeybee-they both have asthma-Pumps never had any coughing until the past 2 months.. sorry for the long letter..I feel so bad for pumps..every morning she has bad eye goops and I clean her up-started eye ointment too just in case...she has feline herpes and it comes out when stressed..evidently the stress of vets made it explode this week. We usually bring her in for laser treatment of arthritis but it really stresses her out...cats!!

Tangent is short-haired. I can hardly ever tell any difference in his coat, winter or summer.
Farrell just turned one year. I'm not 100% sure I'm seeing her full adult coat, but her fur seems to be getting longer, not necessarily thicker.
Misfit (outside) is still just as short and sleek as can be.

We have only had one night below 60 degrees so far. I have read that day-length determines shedding and coat cycles, but indoor cats should have thinner winter coats due to running heaters.

That's a good price...under $10 per tab is a good deal. I was worried that you had ordered the huge lifetime supply bottle when you mentioned how expensive it was.

As far as eating the cat, I'd say, "Eat the Friskies. Spare the cat."

The beef fat should help gloss up her coat...and add to weight gain. ;)

DRIFTER'S FIRST GRADE VOCABULARY

SUPPERTIME KITTY
these are her first words n they are fraught with emotion.
if she's in the garden n hear this, she zooms into the house.
if she's further out, i hear this series of panicked meows,
because she knows for sure the food will disappear if she's late.

KITTY, SILLY CAT, LAZY THING
her names.

COME 'ERE
she knows what this means n she may come.
but, since there's no food involved, she might just take a nap.

DO YOU WANNA COME IN?
Often, she does want to come in, to see what's going on, but again, no food involved
so it can take half an hour for her to move ten feet, while the crazy lady
stands there, waiting.

OUTSIDE
she for sure knows what this means, because early in the day she
will be at the door faster than i can blink.
late at night tho, it's getting hard to get her out.
last night, i had to threaten to give her breakfast to that other cat: the one
that will empty her bowl if she doesn't come quick to ''suppertime kitty''.

we are now working on boxing terms...

My cats know several words too:
Dinner- means food
Treat- means treat
Side Side- means Outside in the garage
Cellar- means down cellar
Boyfriend/Girlfriend- what Demi & Maggie call each other
Show Mama- means show me what you want
Blankie- means here's your blanket
Your Friend- means the neighbor's cat is outside the window
Bad Boy- when Demi is waking me up at 4am
Get In Your Cage- means get in the cat carrier
C'mon- means follow me

Yes, they go right in. They aren't afraid of it because I leave it out all the time. They would rather be carried around in that than picked up, they hate being picked up.
