Thank you. Forest Cat is a boy, actually. We call him the Forest Cat because that is where I found him. We should change his name to the Fridge Cat now as that is where he spends most of his time. Just sitting on top of the fridge.

It's a beautiful photo, what a shame it was submitted too late.

Hi Columbine, I'm quoting here Anne's post. I may be incapable of counting but reading I still can do Just teasing20 photos are waiting for your votes here -
Photo Contest - Vote For Your 10 Favorite Cats In Sinks!
Sorry kittensx4 - that's a great photo but the thread had already been closed for submissions. I'm sure everyone will enjoy seeing it though!
debbila - Typical Snowshoe! There's a long-running photo thread where this would fit perfectly!
And while you're at it, you might want to check www.catsinsinks.com -- "for all your cat and sink needs". Because...CATS.
golondrina - As usual, you're quite correct. Webster's Unabridged Random House Unabridged and the O.E.D. agree that a basin is, "a bowl for washing, typically attached to a wall and having faucets connected to a water supply; a washbasin," hence the name of the basin stand from days gone by.I get mixed up with my English vocabulary. I thought "sink" was the basin in the kitchen. Is the bathroom basin also called a sink? If I remember rightly when I lived in England (1948-1958) the sink was in the kitchen and the wash basin or bathroom basin was in the bathroom. Have I got it wrong?
I lived in the States (1968-1974) but I cannot remember for the life of me what their names were there (Arlington, Va).
Will somebody clarify? Many thanks.
PS. In my Collins English Dictionary the "sink" is in the kitchen. I don't have an American dictionary.
