I cant much about antibiotics but I presume they are essentielly the same.

Try them. You are so desperate you cant no longer lose anything.

Just recount the dosage E Eatingfurballs

Its easier for God to work a small miracle than a big miracle out of the blue.

So fight on try anything you may - and pray and hope.

Thankyou. Any chance you have an antibiotic reference before I use a google one. I feel this is the last resort. He looks on his last legs so to speak.
I’ll try anything now though

If he’s dying, antibiotics won’t help at this point. Just hold him close and offer him comfort to the end.

The last thing I want to do is give you false hope.
There is simply no way you can bring the baby back from the state he's in now.
It's nearly impossible to save a 4-6 week old kitten from pneumonia, let alone a newborn.
I know it hurts you deeply, and if there was any chance at all of him getting through this, even with immediate vet care, IV antibiotics, the works, I would encourage it all the way, bottom line is he is not going to pull through.
The aspirated milk quickly grows bacteria in the lungs, this is what causes a fast departure.
Too tiny, too fragile.

Thankyou @sarthur @catwoman
I understand. I just have never been touched like this before with an animal and it’s knocked me for 6. I was up all night with kitten and my 3 month old baby and had about 45 minutes sleep in total.
Could I leave the kitten in my tshirt pocket whilst I sleep upright tonight so he passes with someone who has cared for him and is warm. I dont want him to die alone.

This is so different to being with humans in their last moments. And I did palliative care.
I feel for this poor kitten more than anything I’ve ever felt

Just a little update, kitty Is sleeping soundly on my chest. He’s raspy and crackled but still has seems to have some fight. I’m not holding out any hopes but praying for the first time ever.
Sweet little dude had some life in him still so if he’s fighting hard I will too for him

The kangaroo method - on the chest - is often useful.

It was a peaceful passing away on your chest, according to your PM. So sorry this happened. It’s good to hear that mom is taking good care of her remaining kitten. RIP little one.

I have a quick question!
Mum Cat has been leaving her kitten periodically for some fuss from me and has a little nap away from the kitten. When she cries she does go back to feed her. I’m probably being paranoid after losing the other one but is this all normal

This behavior is normal and she is still a good mom.

Am I ok to continue with my questions on this post still?
I’m unsure if mum is stimulating the kitten to wee and poo.
Kitty seemed very round earlier and with a gentle rub from me she wee’d. Now I’m wondering if mum hasn’t been doing it.
She’s now weighing in at 150grams so if this continues she will have more than doubled her weight come Monday!
She looks and seems healthy, so I’m possibly being very ott!

Yes, continue here. It won’t hurt to help mom out!

The kitten has the entire milk bar to itself, so he’s filling his tummy to the max!

Good he’s doing so well! :)
