Our sweet 16 yr old Norma-Jean is scratching away and starting to turn up her nose to Ziwi Peak limited ingredient venison canned cat food. I called the store and they highly recommended Farmina venison and coconut -- so I bought 4 little cans and added a small 1/2 tsp. to her regular venison in...
I cannot find very much on Farmina canned food as I am trying to find another decent venison cat food besides Ziwi Peak whose cans are often totally impossible to open, and the ones that occasionally do open are really very difficult to pull that ring. I am afraid of cutting myself.
Any...
I'm a wee bit confused.
I feed my "baby" the Instinct Limited Ingredient Rabbit canned food but there are no peas in it. (She is allergic to all the other meats except venison from Ziwipeak but you cannot open their cans without chancing getting bloody!!!)
My only "pet" peeve is that Instinct is...
This was a very fine post and helped me with my decision.
Our Norma-Jean is 16 and has a hyperthyroid condition which, after trying myriad approaches too complicated to go into, our decision was to let her live out her life without the drugs (which caused more problems) and realize that by...
Yep. That's what I thought you might say.
Maybe I will try going back to givng her that "awful" Hills stuff that is the worst looking stuff-just hard as a rock -- no softness. She doesn't like it and out of hunger ends up eting most of it at some point. Too sad.
An excellent thought except for the fact that she needs limited ingredient type canned foods and there are very few that she will eat. She hates duck, salmon, is allergic to chicken which she likes and turkey. So we are pretty much limited to rabbit which, depending on the lot # of the case she...
Our 15 yr old darling is turning up her nose at almost all wet food. Dare I try dry kibble which I have avoided all these years?Or could that start problems?
...and has started to pee on the newspapers that surround the litter box but still poops in the box. She is 15. Is this senility? I have tried 5 different litters with the same result so I went back to her original litter. No difference.
A month or so ago I promised some of you that when I was able to determine which of the limited ingredient rabbit canned cat foods was the culprit in making my Norma-Jean scrach like fury I would get back to you with the results.
Well it took a long, tedious time -- starting with Instinct (her...
I'm ahead of you. Rawz was the very first on my new choice list some time ago. She hated it!
However, I am now at the 2nd phase of my testing between Koha and Identity. Koha went pretty well with "some" scratching. but normal bm's.
Today will tell the "tail" on Identity. (to be continued...)
Ever since my last post a few days ago, Norma-Jean has suddenly started scratching again like crazy. Now either it is because of the Identity Rabbit which she likes very much (and so, selfishly do I because of the softer consistency) or else it is because of the Koha rabbit.
So now I have...
Due to certain allergy issues, and being so pleased by our regular limited ingredient rabbit for cats, something strange has happened in the last few months (and my pocketbook is showing the pain). Suddenly, where Norma-Jean gobbled down her rabbit every day, recently she started sniffing and...
Thanks all for the prompt replies.
She has an appointment on Monday with the Vet.
We will get to the bottom of this small problem.
Pee pads are a good idea.
I have been surrounding the litter box with newspapers and she carefully pees on them and nowhere else.
This has been going on for a few weeks now. Nothing has changed except maybe a different litter smell(?) from the same litter company. She is 15 and never had a litter problem till now.
