    Romeo - paracetamol poisoning

If he had no symptoms and you've gotten him to the vet, I don't see why his chances wouldn't be good. I'm praying for your little one!!

Teaching other to be kind to your cat

Thanks catapault. I basically just wanted reassurance that it's OK to ask folks to treat your animal only with kindness.

Teaching other to be kind to your cat

Our older son just moved back home for the summer. He normally lives at school. We've gotten three cats while he's been away. We used to be a no pets family, and over the past year I decided to adopt 3 cats, because they give me so much happiness and I wanted to be able to give my love to some...

Having a problem, unsure of the cause

Search the home THOROUGHLY, all the corners and cracks - look everywhere. It's possible there is a toxin somewhere. This sounds like sniffing something toxic possibly.

    That Darn Post Adoption Anxiety

Anxiety is not rational, nor is it shameful. You are feeling worried about a new experience, and you did the right thing by asking your parents for help. I have extreme anxiety about my cats, so I totally understand. I have cameras and pet gates and everything you would need to help with anxiety...

how can i make my cat gain weight?

I buy the dewormer from a vet, and apply as per their instructions. It was actually my vet who gave me this advice. They explained that the first time it should be done by a vet and then you can see how it's done, but after that you do it as per a schedule they set out for you and using the...

    Cat not eating

I think you need to go to your vet. Sometimes we just need the reassurance from a vet that it isn't medical. Otherwise, you could try fancy feast hors d'oeuvre - cats go crazy for this, NEVER met a cat that didn't like it.

how can i make my cat gain weight?

Have you tried dewormer? Sometimes it could be intestinal worms. But truly if she eats well, plays well and sleeps well, then she could just be a little thing naturally.

    That Darn Post Adoption Anxiety

She's around you and doesn't want to be removed, that's good. With cats it's best to let them feel like they have some control, so if she nips when you try to move her she's just communicating that she's happy there and doesn't want to move. And that's okay, you should let her bond with you for...

    Non recognition aggression

If you can get a pet gate that they can see through and reach through, do that. Rub a blanket on one cat then rub the other cat with it. Do it for the other cat as well. Use the same brush for each, let them smell it. Try calming collars - they do work. I had two cats that would growl at one...

    Kitten Safe Space Cleaning

Use a manual sweeper similar to this one: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B002TOL928/?tag= It's not perfect but it gets the job done in a cat's safe room without scaring then.

I sent a DNA test off but growing impatient. What do you guys think??

He's very adorable congratulations! It looks to me (and I'm no DNA test lol) like you've got a ragdoll tabby mix. By the way, what he's doing with his food is likely a sign of living with food insecurity. Maybe he had a hard life for a bit and is still worried about his next meal. This really...

    That Darn Post Adoption Anxiety

This is 100% extremely normal. You're a good person who cares and considers things. You should know... You are doing everything right because you are doing the best you can. She's going to be a good friend to you and you to her. Just be patient with each other. Giving them love and food and...

Is a male adult cat a good idea?

I have two great cat rescue organizations I've adopted from so I'll return to them - they foster cats in homes and so you generally get a pretty good sense of the cat's personality. Thank you both for your perspectives!
