He was already tested for Herpes. Allergies is a possibility. I have rescheduled our appointment to discuss this. I thought he had URI again, mainly because of how severe it was when I first found him. This time his sneezing came on so sudden and pretty much left a day later, which confused me...
Yes, and my vet said the same about the URI, it can become a reoccurring thing in some cats. And yes to a mobile vet. I know there is one in my area, I will save their details on my phone. Thank you.
It's scorching hot outside, so the central AC has been cooler than usual. I changed the temp, and his sniffles seemed to disappear quicker than I expected. I am in Florida, it's been almost 80 degrees outside.
Thank you all for your replies. He got better just like that. I had an appointment for today but cancelled it. He's been running around like his old self, his excitement for Da Bird is a good indication he's feeling better. So happy.
I tried making an appointment today but they had nothing till Monday so I just have to keep an eye on him till then, and in case he gets worse there is an emergency vet too. He eats and drinks and just played with me, then sneezed 4 times in a row.
My vet told me once a cat has had URI it can...
Sorry - I can't seem to find the edit button to add to this post. Like I said money is not an issue for the vet - it's just a real hurdle getting there as he will run at the mere sight of the carrier - y'all know the struggle. So I rather not take him today/tomorrow unless I can tell he's really...
I should add I'm in Florida and the central AC can blow quite cold air some days depending on the temp outside (and it's been boiling hot lately!) - he is an indoor boy, so I am aware the AC can have contributed to his current cold. I have turned the indoor temp up so the cool air isn't so cold.
Hey all,
When I rescued my baby, he already had an Upper Respiratory Infection, together with walking pneumonia and a congested lung. He has had all his shots etc, and the vet ruled out herpes and the other thing I can't remember the name of now. My vet told me an URI is also like a common...
Oh, and I forgot to mention that Viking has always had solid poops with this diet. Even with wet food mixed into it. Not gonna go as far as saying his poop doesn't stink, but I know the difference between stinky poop and "normal" smelly poops. He has normal smelly poops! But his poops are solid...
I fed my first cat James Wellbeloved. There's a reason for the name - my cat absolutely loved that food too. Are you in the UK? I haven't seen it since moving to the US.
Personally, I've always mixed it up. Dry food daily - I always have dry food out (Hills Science), with some wet food in the...
Thank you for your responses. I appreciate them. I will go through each article on Monday when I have more time.
I got a Feliway diffuser (first one at the new house, not sure why I didn't think of bringing the old one, I was thinking Harley needed it more than Viking, doh!) and he seemed to...
Yes - I did research that before I purchased it, however, I also researched the flea medicine my own VET recommended (and applied) to my boy when he was a kitten, and nearly died when I read bad reviews (incl cause of death?!) about it. I've used Cheristin for about 10 months now and my boy is...
Hey all!
Sorry in advance for being that annoying newbie that repeats what's probably been said a million of times before. However, the searches I did within this forum didn't match anything about this product!
It's the absolute best if you have fleas in your house! I have had cats 12+ years...
Hi there,
First off, I'm sure many others have been through this before, and I've been skimming through similar posts but figured I'd give a quick breakdown of my particular situation to get the most suitable responses.
I'm a crazy cat lady and owned many cats over the years. I'd like to think...
