I knocked the growth center out. At age 9. They tried manipulation for about 2 hours and when that didn't work, they operated. It was successful and I have a lovely scar.

Yeah, I guess that surgical techniques, and medicine in general, have come a long way since the days when I was a kid.

This was quite a long time ago, actually; my mom always praised that surgeon and told everyone how wonderful he was.

When I was 6, I needed surgery. To knock me out, they used ether dripped onto a cotton gizmo held over my nose and mouth. Gawd, but that was horrible. Thirty years later, when I needed back surgery, they stuck an IV in me, then said count down from 100. I might have gotten to 96. Maybe.

We do need another Froggie and Banjo story but freezing temperatures are keeping Froggie in hiding and wildfires are keeping us inside so, Froggie will be staying safe in his Froggie house for now. They will return when the sun is out and the air is clear though!

Lari I love croissants and crescents. Very different texture and flavor. I think I prefer crescents just because I can have them straight out of baking.

Thank you. I was absent for 2 days if I am not mistaken as I was sick. But much better now. Hope everyone is fine and well.

We knew you smiled because the sun started shining.

~ I was feeding him for a while in The Alley not to far from my house, a couple times a day hard and soft food. He was very mean, I could not approach him at all but I was able to take photos. He made sure I kept my distance by swatting and hissing at me all the time, he is a big cat so I had to be careful. One day, he had a change of heart. He walked up to me after feeding, and head-butted my knee. I reluctantly reached out and petted him with success. I knew this was the time to bring him home, and remarkably he let me pick him up. He was probably the biggest transformation out of any cat I have rescued, developing a big mane, gaining some weight and became my shadow. I cant go anywhere without him wanting to be with me, laying with me, etc. He gets some time outside in the enclosed yard but gets scared with loud noises. His name is Hobo Highwaters.

This is beautiful, I cried.

Praying for all to be healthy and well in this weather. I was down for two days because of fever, cough and colds. The wind last night was howling and it scared my cats. I was worried about the cats outside especially the kittens which unfortunately I am still unable to catch. The momma cat still hisses so I am also wary and afraid. Two of the kittens seem to be doing well. But I noticed the shut-eyed one is inactive. I tried again to catch it thinking the momma cat was not around, but she came running to me angrily so I retreated. Then I got sick so I paused for 2 days. This morning they were still there and I still continue feeding them, still not trusting me fully. Once in a while they disappear, only to reappear again. I am not sure where they are hiding.

Anyhow, stay safe everyone.

I went birding this morning and we saw about 150 Bohemian Waxwings! I had never seen one before. They were flocking and feeding on what berries they could find. Cedar Waxwings are one of my favorites, so this was a treat- an almost look alike to the Cedars.

Maria Bayote I know you worry but mom cat is there to love them and protects them as a great feral mom would do. Isn’t it amazing how how loving and protective cats are of their young? If only the humans there did the same. We can learn so much from nature. Please take care of yourself and get well. We need the sun to shine!

Jcatbird What a wonderful tunnel you all have! Elvis runs and hides in his when I vacuum. My new vacuum doesn't seem to scare him as much. It's smaller, very powerful, and also loud, but perhaps the frequency is not scary for him.
