Yes, I agree. I was impatient because I knew I had to act fast due to the weather outside. But I made a mistake. I under estimated her again. I hope that next time I post here I have already achieved what I planned for many days now. If only someone else would help me catch her...
Yes, because she's very young and if this behavior gets stuck in her head, she'll forever run away from hoomans and will be much harder to socialize when she's caught.

You can lay a drop trap to get her but this will take some of your time keeping watch on her before making your move but it's worth a try. The longer you wait, the harder it'll become to get her.

I can only do this during my day off. I do not have that extra time. If I lay a drop trap and leave it while I am at work, the neighbors' kids or anyone in the compound might come to it and do something which i may not be pleased.

Hopefully you can get her on your off day.

We had to take Prancer to the vet's yesterday for some dental work. As she, even at almost 11years old, still retains a lot of feral traits, I did not expect her to be very social any time soon. Wrong! This morning, when I went to clean her litter box, there she was, snuggled up with her head on Michele's pillow, and Michele's arm around her. That would have made quite a picture, but I couldn't without using a flash, and I didn't think that would turn out well. After all, it's not nice to startle a sleeping cat.

Hey guys. I hope all is well with everyone, especially you Jcatbird Jcatbird . I have a lot on my mind right now. Sadly, still no sign of the missing cat. There is some kind of shift going on because other cats are missing feedings that usual come to my feeding regularly. Maybe they are going to another feeder. I am okay with them going to another feeder, but it is worrisome when a cat who comes like clockwork everyday suddenly stops coming. It has been a week now. It is still too early to tell about the others. There have been some cats in the last week coming to my door at 11:30pm at night crying for food. I normally do my night feeding at 9pm and wondered how come they didn't make it to that feeding? I am just going to keep a watchful eye. I was looking for the missing female in the neighborhood to no avail and checked shelter websites and lost and found pets FB pages-all to no avail. This female kitty is around 7 years old and is on the chubby side, but seemed overall healthy. I seen no sign of illness before she disappeared and the weather was very mild at that time. What a shame if something happened to her.😢 She was a fixture on the block and was very well liked by the feeder who formerly took care of her before moving away. All I can say is she was welled care for when she came to me. I did the best I could. I will leave it at that. Last winter, I had another one go without a trace. I will just hope for the best.

Well take care everyone. 🙂

I like to expand upon this meme below to say "Time spend caring for cats is never wasted. Be grateful for such a privilege!":purr:

I agree, and I feel you. I have this senior male cat I named GoodBoy who came daily (morning and afternoon) at my doorstep and suddenly he was gone. I searched and waited for him but it has been quite a few months now. I worry that he got hit by a car, got into a nasty fight or something else. Each time I feed the cats outside, I still have this sad longing for him. I hope he re-appears again one of these days. He was a sweet, quiet cat who just waited for his turn to be fed.

Uggghhh. I just finished antibiotics and Atticus gave me a hard lovebite again. I’m so concerned that he has done this twice and tried another time. I felt a light pain and must have jerked this the lines. View attachment 440912
That's the main reason that we never tried to bring Grumpy inside, and how he earned his name. When he first appeared, and after he became used to us, he would sometimes rub against our legs, and even allow petting, then suddenly, and without warning, swat and try to bite, both with serious intent. He was- and still is- just too unpredictable, so we content ourselves with providing food and shelter, if he chooses to use them.

This guy is super friendly and loves being pet, he doesn't show any signs of aggression then bam deep bite.

When I pet Stretch, sometimes he will bite if I pet the wrong place, but never with malicious intent; more of a "Hey, rub over here, instead" kind of thing. Digger, on the other hand, sort of bites, but when she does her teeth just barely graze the skin. In fact, the only times these cats have ever drawn blood is when we were putting them in their carriers for a trip to the vet's.

This guy just gets overstimulated, but still wants the petting :nono:

Hello guys. I heard from Jcatbird. She is busy right now. She wants to thank everyone for posting here and please continue to feel free to post.

Regarding my situation still no sign of that kitty and it is now over a week and there is a missing male cat who is gone for 2 days now. I think with the other cats there may be another feeder involved because of the shift I am seeing and the crazy time one cat keeps coming to me at night. I have some troubling news a few miles from where I live a community cat was killed and the care taker is warning everyone to be very careful and keep a watchful eye over community cats and to keep pet cats inside. 😢 I have been doing just that for my community cats. If you can keep my kitties in your thoughts and prayers I appreciate it. Also that this sick person gets caught before they strike again. Thank you.
Maria Bayote Maria Bayote Yes it is a crying shame when a cat you have been feeding very regularly just goes missing without a trace. I am sorry about Good Boy. I have had others disappear put of the blue as well. . Here one day and gone the next. It is so frustrating because there is no closure, you are left with questions. Then you go through the "What if this happened or that happened" worrisome thoughts. It can upset you. All I can say is I did my best with these cats and if they do not return to the group I will have to let it go at some point and direct my focus towards the remaining cats. One thing I can tell you about taking care of cats it's a labor of love and there are times your heart will be broken, but you keep your heart open and help whoever comes to you and make a difference in their lives. If not you, than who?

CatladyJan CatladyJan Sorry that you got scratched up like that. Here is an article on aggressive cat behavior due to overstuimulatiion. Is overstimulation causing your cat to act out? - Ontario SPCA and Humane Society In the case of hard love bites, you need to do an exaggerated "Ouch!!! That hurt". That may get a cat to stop with the hard love bites. Cats as kittens play rough and when a littermate let's out a screech it is an indicator to stop and don't play like that. Anyway, I hope the kitty calms down. 🙂
tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 I hope your situation has improved with getting those appliances fixed. Hang in there.
💪🙂

TYSM for all of those updates, to me and others. No, it hasn't gotten better and now there's another potential emergency which my roomie looked at and said he thinks it may not need attention for a few years yet. I'm near the end of my rope. So I may be here sporadically, as I feel overwhelmed. But I thank you for your caring thoughts.

Consider it done - prayers and special thoughts for your kitties. :grouphug: I hope and pray they are safe and unharmed. 🙏

Take all the time you need to correct what needs to be done. I hope your roomie is right and you won't have to address the problem for several years. :crossfingers::crossfingers:
