No problem! You can do both! Just pop out and get a Festool sander! It sucks up its own dust AND allows quality time w/ your sister. All of the drywall has been hung, but a halt has been called by Michele. One of my sisters, from out of state, will be in town visiting for a few days this week. I haven't seen her or her husband since the funeral of our eldest sister, 7 years ago, and Michele has decreed that there shall be no more dust created until after they are gone. Just as I was getting ready to tape and mud, too.
If I was 30 years younger, and had the necessary $$$$$ for a Festool, I would get one. But I'm not, and I don't, so wait it is.No problem! You can do both! Just pop out and get a Festool sander! It sucks up its own dust AND allows quality time w/ your sister.
Actually no, don’t have a Festool, just see them in stores….there’s something you learn & feel doing the whole thing by hand.Jcatbird : Actually, there was a stud behind the joint but I had to remove a portion of it to make the cabinet fit. There still is support above and below the removed portion, however. It was fun finding and removing all of the buried drywall screws that had to go. Whoever installed them must have gotten a bulk rate, as they used about 4x more than necessary. And they were the wrong kind- designed for use with metal studs, not wood.
Yeah! Used to be, if you didn't do your job properly, you got fired. There are thousands who'd love to have a job lined up behind you. But that doesn't matter any more, it seems. It's gone from "The customer is always right," to "Torture the customer and don't EVER solve the issue they chatted/called about. Extra points for tears. More for rage.")Jcatbird Hope you were able to get home safely before the storm. I hate driving when the rain comes down full force, windshield wipers on high and you still can barely see the car in front of you.
tarasgirl06 I call Customer Service, Customer Nightmare - it's only gotten worse too.
tabbytom Good luck on your search for a new laptop. My husband is going through something similar with his desktop computer and keeps procrastinating.
I am glad you enjoyed the video. Stories like that always warm my heart. Sending prayers and good thoughts that you are safe in your home and there is no tornado, lighting, or heavy rain damage around you. We had Hurricane Irene and Sandy up here where I swear my neighbor's 60 foot old Norwegian Spruce which was not in the best of shape would coming crashing down into my house, but it never happened. I pray the same in your situation and that you feel safe and at peace, despite these vicious storms. Hang in there.Whenallhellbreakslose Thank you so much for posting that video of the kittens being saved. It was unbelievable and I'm thrilled the man had so many offers for homes for all of them.
We had several emergency alerts tonight with tornado warnings, thunder, sheets of rain and 84 mph winds. There were over 500 lightning strikes near the airport. Pretty scary and I kept watching the trees in our yard worried one of them might come down.
3 different folks sent me this video! (I don’t tweet or FB so am clueless) JUST wonderful, thanks for posting—- didn’t know how it ended!!Jcatbird I love all the pics of the kitties, geese, clouds, and sunset. Hmmm, Accuma lota smiles, never heard of those clouds before, but if they bring a smile to your face than the name suits them. Glad you liked the cloud pics and video I posted. Yes, clouds are indeed fascinating.
Hope everyone is doing okay. For those dealing with set backs and /or Customer Services HellI hope the set backs is one that can be remedied quickly enough and for those dealing with a CS nightmare, I hope you can finally get your problem taking care of. I have been there and it is very frustrating and could drive you crazy. Hang tough and never give an inch till you get your problem resolved. I think that's what they want, so they can keep over billing you or doing other nonsense.
Here is a viral video, I thought I post here. I call it "Kitten Stapede". God bless this man for helping all these kittiens. I would like to say to this kind sir if I ever meet him.
Here is the rest of the story. He took them all home and is trying to find homes for them. He will be adopting the first kitty he picked up and possibly another. Love stories like this.
