I just assumed it was a feral. Purry went out when I went to work on the greenhouse. Lately he has started trying to follow me out there so , at first, I was guessing he saw a cat. Ferals used to turn up in there as a safe and sheltered place. Since I have been looking for the lost cats of others and learned of a feral colony relatively nearby, I figured that was what struck the tip of his ear. It seems to be more of a hematoma but unsure. The vet was actually the “on call” vet since it was not during business hours. The meds were given to me via a drop box. His ear has not gotten any worse. The swelling is just at the tip of his ear. I can’t really see any penetrating wound. Thank goodness. The vet will call tomorrow. I’m really wondering if we both got struck by that hornet. I didn’t see what hit me because I had both hands up in the air above my head working on the greenhouse. I did see the hornet shortly after that though. Poor Purry. Whatever got him, it hurt. It seems these things always happen on the weekend! Aaaarrgh. Purry is back to purring and rubbing against everyone. I am hoping that means it hurts less now. I’ve got a camera in the greenhouse now and will be watching to see if I can see any cats!
pearl99 We are both better. Thank you! Purry is enjoying extra treats and favirorite foods and I took a Tylenol.
Whenallhellbreakslose Thank you! Just waiting and watching his ear right now. He’s snuggling in my lap. He’s a reall sweetie!
N NY cat man Back up and running? Glitches do happen. Hopefully things are good again.
