My Feral And Rescued Cats

Today was a noisy day for the last outside kitties. Flowers did show up for her meals but she hid her kittens. I wish I could have avoided the disturbance but it was necessary for some repair work. I did provide extra treats for Mom so I am hoping she will let the kittens come out now that it is dark.
The Gingerbread kittens are still nervous. They have explored their surroundings and have now decided to take refuge in their carrier. I find it an advantage for kitties to see carriers as a safe haven so this is a plus. In the future they will not be so afraid of travel to vets or a new home if they do so in this carrier. They are eating well and I have been able to pet them to a small extent. Avatar is enjoying it! Bright chooses to stay in the background but I will keep trying. Avatar was even willing to come out to eat beside me. I appreciated the priviledge.

I just wanted to post a bit about the storm that is approaching the east coast. Since I am near the storm area I may not be able to post for awhile. I don’t anticipate much damage here but simply an inability to access the Internet. If the storm shifts or lingers the chance of that will increase.
For those of you who have not experienced a mass evacuation or a hurricane, I will pass on some information. Cell signals will be overwhelmed by the traffic of many calls and internet usage and possible cell tower damage. Many TCS members near or in the storm will be cut off from contact. Even when the storm has passed many of us will not be able to get a signal. I expect some TCS members to be cut off starting tomorrow evening. I hope this will not happen but it often does.
I have been in contact with Mamanyt1953 today. She and her kitty are as prepared for the storm as possible. I ask that everyone offer support to them and all in the path of Hurricane Florence, especially those who do not get the chance to evacuate. Interstates will be closed to evacuees once the winds reach dangerous levels. Some people will not get out due to circumstances beyond their control.
I also want to say Thank you to all of the TCS members who have already offered support. You are all great! I have been informed that TCS members have been doing a lot to comfort and aide other members wherever possible. That is an inspiration to us all. TCS has enabled many cat lovers to come together in a variety of circumstances and storms like this are a very important time for us to be united. I am grateful for everyone here.
May all our friends , with two legs and four, be kept safe during this time.
Let the waters stay back and the winds blow gently. I will post as I can.

I just got word that Mamanyt1953 and Hekitty are going to be able to get to higher ground as the storm clouds approach. They will be safe. May all others find what is required to stay safe.

Great news about the The Gingerbread kittens. Though I must admit I'm going to miss their cute little faces in the doorway of the gingerbread house.

Fingers crossed that everyone in the hurricane's path stays safe and dry.

I just got word that Mamanyt1953 and Hekitty are going to be able to get to higher ground as the storm clouds approach. They will be safe.

For some reason I didn't get any notifications from this thread for the past day and a half. I didn't know about Mamanyt1953 and HeKitty. Is there any news, are they okay?...Congrats on getting the kittens inside! That's amazing that they let you pet them already.

So is the Mama of the Gingerbread babies. I caught Kelly a short while ago. Missed getting Flowers and babies but will try again in the morning. I will try until ,and possibly through ,the storm.

I will be reuniting Kelly with her babies. My internet is getting quite slow but I will post reunion pictures later if I can.
I have one more trap to check tonight.
Hoping to get all kitties inside before the rain starts.

The WiFi here is slow, so I'm not getting pictures well, but I will see them tomorrow, I HOPE! I'm in Reedy Creek, NC, and with wonderful people who have gone out of their way to make me feel right at home. There are three cats, so Hekitty is comfortably confined to my bedroom, but she ate a good supper, and is lounging on the bed. I couldn't ask for a better place to be. Just checked local weather for Havelock, and we may had dodged the worst of this big bullet. Looks like we are right on the edge of the flood warning area, but I don't regret leaving at all. I couldn't take a chance with Hekitty!

One of the kitties I had up for adoption was adopted yesterday. Mittwo has found love! Just in time to have a home in the storm. Man has been moved to a foster home and possibly Eisenhower as well. If Eisenhower has not been moved yet he will be protected in place or returned to me. I thing he will be as safe where he is as he would be here. Maybe more so. My signals here are slowing down as well. I hope to communicate again tomorrow. Stay safe everyone!

As everyone who reads my posts knows, I have a tough time letting go of my babies. Because of the huge number of kitties I have been dealing with I had no other option. The kitties needed more than I could offer so many. I think everyone who lets a kitty go wonders how things turned out. Sometimes I get updates. They are always gratifying.
Do you all remember this silly post with the Silver tabby kitten named Cloud? You may also remember my feelings when I had to part from him.

I got an update about Cloud. It was sent to me by a friend who works at the adoption shelter I use. I thought this might be helpful to others who have to part from a beloved kitty. It lifted my heart and I hope it does the same for you. There are great cat lovers out there who adopt.

I am so happy for Cloud/Damien Wayne Sprout! He always smiled at toys. ( on left) I am grateful to his new family.
