Can I whine a bit?

They turned off water in my building yesterday and I haven't had hot water since.

Also, I took a nap after school and cat play and woke up with a sore throat.

Boo. :sigh:

Have they checked the water heater? Once water's back on your water heater should have been warming back up without issue. Did you use hot water while the water was off?

I wasn't home the entire time the water was shut off, so unless the cat did something, then no. I gave it a day and emailed maintenance tonight so hopefully it'll get fixed soon. They're pretty good about it and it's my fault for not saying something sooner.

It's late at night, I'm tired, I walked into the living room to lock the door. I saw something out of the corner of my eye and I swear I saw Shadow sitting on the back of a chair. It was a crocheted gray and white unicorn someone had made my husband, but me moving and peripheral vision.....now I'm crying, full fledged crying.

Knowing in which part of the country or in another country sometimes helps to understand what that person is talking about. Living in SoCal our seasons are different from someone up north, in the Midwest or the East Coast, so weather conditions and lovely spring flowers are also different. So is gardening which we do year round here and in colder places that might be only 3 to 8 months. I hope they, whoever they are, will bring back where people live.

And the hot water was back this morning! They wouldn't have gotten my email yet, but I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth, especially as I have a full blown cold this morning and the steam helped with the congestion.

OOOOOOH! SO excited! Part of my orders came in today! I have the new (really nice) blanket that will, for the time being, replace my very worn comforter on my bed, the low-watt LED light bulb for my little lamp, and one of my end tables! Oh, and the camcorder came. Just waiting on the lamp shade now, and the other end table. I'll be buying new living room lamps over the next couple of months, then that room will be done with the exception of SOMETHING to hang over the love seat. I found a piece of art I really like, but it's a bit pricey for me.

I lucked out on the camcorder. I do online surveys with Harris Poll, and get points for each one completed (and a few for even trying to qualify for one). My points have just been sitting there accumulating, so I peeked in the online catalogue and thought, "WHY NOT? You've wanted one FOREVER, and there isn't even a shipping charge!" Now I just have to get batteries for the dratted thing.

Sorry I've been awol. My internet went out for like a week. I had to go to McDonald's to do homework. Talk about annoying. Then, I just got busy. We've got a place to move. Looks like we'll be moving within a couple of weeks. Little man is 15 lbs 12 oz now. I can't believe how fast he's growing!
The place we're moving - they called and said they pushed the application through. We said we had 4 cats on the application, so I think they mean they pushed it through even though we have more than the allowed number of pets. Either way, I'm not asking questions or bringing it up again. We were honest on the application and if they overlooked it and we slip through the cracks with the number of cats, that's not our fault. Right?

I have 4 cats but my landlord only knows of 2 of them. Of course it helps that he lives in L.A. and never comes here and if he does he has to give me 24 hrs notice per CA law so that I can put the excessive cats into my car when the landlord is due to come ( I have not seen him in over 2 years). My neighbors either own their condos or have a different landlord and nobody cares about their neighbors. So depending on your circumstances you might very well be safe although you have more cats than are allowed, just don't advertise it, don't tell your new neighbors, what they don't know they can't tell and if management find out anyway you can refer them to the application, you do need to look at the rental contract to make sure that it does not specify the number of cats and then go from there regarding if you need to sneak in the number of cats. I had moved in with 2 and acquired the other 2 later.

I just bought a couple shirts because my wardrobe is admittedly limited. I picked out a nice purple shirt, and remembered a coworker who had made fun of my liking jewel tones.

I brushed it off because I know what I like, but what makes people do that? Clothing is a form of self-expression, and obviously each piece is made with the hope that *someone* will want it.

I don't know; it sounds very immature to me, almost like the high school "in" crowd making fun of the other girls.

Sounds like that to me, too. Small people with small lives who have to make themselves feel better at other people's expense. Ignore it, and take comfort from the fact that those mean people have to live with their own company 24/7. I know this, all too well, from having a neighbor who actually tried to bribe my other neighbor not to help me bring my groceries upstairs, and me on a walker!

It's hard to know the intentions of my Current Events professor. I'm taking it as an online class, and one of this week's assignments is about bias. The site he sent us to had only articles complaining about liberal bias. It didn't matter which one I picked because they ALL made me angry. I can only hope he was looking for a political discussion in the comments, because that's what I gave him.
