36 inseam pants are available for men.
Yes but it's the 30/36 combo that's hard to find. A 36/36? Yep, easy, lots of brands have that size. But not 30/36, that's very rare (but I did go to Target.com and one that I clicked on did have that size so yay). Just like buying bras for women---a 40DDD is easy to find, but a 32DDD? Nope.
I'm becoming a regular on a site called Not Always Right,
I love Not Always Right! It's the best.

My first job was at a cell phone call center and I got my share of craziness. My brother worked for a credit card call center and he had the weirdest stories. Some people do not understand how a credit card works. He said he had to explain that a credit card is a loan, not free money, at least 20 times a day. My other brother works at Walmart, used to work overnights at a gas station. We all share crazy customer stories when we get together. . .

Why is it so hard to shop for outter wear rain/winter gear for bigger folks? LLBean doesn't carry anything over size Large. And I don't want to pay $400 for Goretex suit...frustrating.

And looking at extra long underwear in mens-most stores only carry up to XL. What do the bigger population do for shopping? Luckily I found some at walmart but they don't give them away..$15 for a pack of 4. I wanted to wear them under my heavy pants for fall/winter riding- I have rain pants but they don't stretch and not easy to wear on the bike. I was hoping to find a nylon shell elastic waist pants that I can pull on over my long compression bike pants to break the wind and rain when riding...Off to second hand stores..see that's why Thrift stores are so popular-where else can you get all 4 seasons of clothing any time of the year?

After work it's going to be raining so gonna hit the salvation army-I may strike out or get lucky. I ordered a nice jacket online that is made for cycling in bad weather-I just worry my legs will get cold..I could wear a t shirt year round ridiing it's just my legs get cold.

It was humid nasty last night so no Honeybee on me.

Have you looked into anything that's fleece like polartec or something like? It's soft, wears like iron,it's stretchy, washes well. It's what we did for my hubby .He's tall, and a friend of ours suggested Cabelas, and we've never been sorry. The two pairs he has look like new and he's had them for several years.Just a thought.....

Pumpkin face is getting her dental cleaning today but the vet called said he hears a ton of wheezing and doesn't feel comfortable putting her under. I know she wheezes when she's already stressed...He's going to snap film to see if we need to start her on flovent too. She was coughing a few times last month-one episode was a long one so I gave her albuterol and it stopped...I now have 2 asthma kitties...although I know asthma is allergy related but the dumb bf keeps shutting off the air purifier...pain in the a$$. :mad2::mad2::mad2::mad2::mad2:

She's got something going on. I meet with doc at 6pm to discuss options. I am leaning on starting her on flovent @12 hours for a month to see if it helps=it could be allergies=since usually that's why there's inflammation. I think the vet is on board-he assumed she had no episodes until I said no that's not the case. I think he will ok the meds or at least have me set up an appointment with my regular vet-but she was already looked at a month ago.
I did bring up the coughing and she listened to her-said she only hears inflammation around the sinuses so just assumed it was stuffed up nose-now she's sneezing--poor girl.

So for now just wait to meet with the vet...told him she has had several coughing episodes and I didn't think anything of it due to being sporadic.

I do know she wheezes when she's stressed out. I had Jon drop off the Albuterol for her-I hope they gave it to her. It does seem to help right away. So hopefully we can get the asthma under control and get those teefers cleaned. I got some stuff on Amazon to help-tooth brushs and some new inhaler canisters-they now have one that's only $25 for budget people..doesn't have the flap to count breathes but I just watch the chest rise up and down to count. She doesn't like the mask on her face but she does tolerate it..that cat is the best cat. Pill her twice a day, shots twice a week and now inhaler twice a day or more if she is coughing...poor girl..she still purrs for me though.

It could be sinuses. I had a horrible cough two years ago, everyone figured I had pneumonia. Turned out my lungs were fine and the cough was triggering itself, but there was also a sinus infection going on that made the cough in the first place.

They did not deliver my replacement phone as promissed. A call to FedEx determined that Assurance failed to put my apartment number on the address. Then called Assurance who actually contacted FedEx while I was on the phone with them to update the address. I may actually have a phone tomorrow, and it's only taken SIX WEEKS.

You all probably remember the hair dye experiment. I was actually happy with it, but as the roots grew out I could see a difference in the non-gray areas too. The dye had a bit more red than my natural hair color has. Well my roots are about an inch long now, so time to re-dye.

Last time I used Miss Clairol Nice and Easy. When I went to buy dye this time, Target had a sale on Miss Clairol Natural Instincts the same week there was a coupon. Same company, should be fine, right? I matched the hair color and it sat in my linen closet for a couple of weeks. Tonight I dyed my hair. I followed the instructions to the letter.

Got out of the shower and I swear I see gray roots. Sure enough, the gray isn't covered. I checked to see if I just missed a patch in the worst possible area, middle of my forehead. Nope, there's gray everywhere there used to be. The dye didn't take.

I'll have to wait until it's dry to be sure, but I don't think the dye took with the rest of my hair either. Even wet, I swear I see a color difference between the roots and the length. It doesn't look like it made things worse, it looks like the same color difference that was there prior to the dye.

It'd be disappointing, but even for a few bucks, that's still a few bucks that went right down the drain....pun intended.

I'll think about L'Oreal. I'm just super happy with the Miss Clairol shade.

I emailed the company, telling them what I thought of Natural Instincts and asking, since the dye didn't take, how long minimum do I have to wait to redo it.

I usually use Garnier and that covers grey but I use a red mahogany color-although its been 2 years...Thinking I should color it for the fall. I have a grey streak on the left side-but my hair is dark blonde so it doesn't look too out of place.

Last night the vet was really good. I saw the x-rays it is Asthma. There's quite a bit of inflammation in the left lung and some in right lung. No cloudy areas-just the larger tubes were inflamed. He thinks the pred should help. I am surprised it's not working yet. She's on 2.5mg a day now..I am thinking of doing flovent because the furnace also kicks up more dirt. Despite the filters for some reason this house is super dusty. Even in the summer-it has to be the drywall. Next house I will NOT use drywall-only wood paneling. No allergies at the summer camp-they don't dry wall the bedrooms or living room. Only the basement but I never stay down in basements.

He didn't want to start flovent-said lets wait another couple months unless we have more coughing. She does have a cold-she's sneezing clear snot and runny eyes. I washed her face this morning and she didn't like it but I felt bad for the girl. She looks like she doesn't feel good. Put ointment in her eyes as they look red irritated probably from running. She was a good girl for her shot and pills. I think I know why she's wheezy=she sleeps in the library where I haven't kept up with vacuuming as much. If I get some time off I will take care of that this weekend.

I would love it if jon would just take care of the vacuuming but he does the dishes/laundry so I can't complain..but I am.

Neither cat slept in the living room with us last night...Honeybee hasn't had any coughing in over 2 years. So her meds are working really good. Pumpkin Face is starting to look her age. the vet sent us home with T/D kibble for them-Honeybee ate one chunk. The pieces are big. So maybe having smaller kibble causes more dental problems? I didn't see if pumps would eat it. I will put it in her dish tonight for overnight and see if she eats it. Honeybee is a garbage disposal...she eats ANYTHING.

foxxycat foxxycat Crazy thought. The cough from h*ll, wher I felt there was something trapped deep inside and blood was coming up, it turned out bronchial inflammation basically caused a feedback loop. I had coughed to the point that I had a lot of swelling and some damage to the bronchial tubes. But since the bronchial tubes were swollen and injured it was tricking my body into thinking there was something in there that needed to be coughed up. So continuing to cough caused more swelling and more damage and...yeah, you get the point. The doctor gave me a codeine cough syrup that basically deadened the cough reflex and minimized feeling the bronchial tube swelling, and stopping the cough for a week allowed my bronchial tubes to heal so they wouldn't trigger a cough anymore. Maybe you could ask your vet if there's a kitty-safe mild narcotic cough medicine?

I doubt there's a cough syrup for kitties. And if it's a narcotic there's no chance in hell they will allow me to bring it home. They have a stupid policy thanks to the people who caused this issue..makes me so cotton picking angry. Yes I am aware of how a cough would keep coming back. I have albuterol and when I give it-she stops coughing. Flovent is inhaled steroids which also works on inflammation-it does a darn good job of it.

Has everybody gotten their flu shots for this year? I got mine a few weeks ago in my doctor's office. I started getting a flu shot when I retired 7 years ago and have not had any problems. Before I retired I never got the flu shot but I never got the flu either. I also got a pneumonia shot a few years ago because I don't want to take any chances. I got real sick when I was in my 20's from pneumonia and I also have COPD.

I also had pneumonia somewhere around 20, and had the flu once many many years ago. The real flu, not a 24 hour bug. But no, I don't get the shot. My mom does every year and swears it's the reason she doesn't get the flu.
I can understand getting it if you have COPD, or in her case, heart problems. But I'm basically healthy and it seems useless to me. If that ever changes though, I will reconsider it.

I got one, first time in years. The reason for not getting one is the same reason kashmir64 has. Then I read a study that when one of those avian flus ends up evolving so that human to human transmission is easy, those who have gotten flu shots for years will have partial protection. Apparently none of the scary avian flus have novel full RNA strands, a lot of the RNA coding is shared with other flus, and that means the immune system will be able to do a partial targeting lock on the virus.

Now, let's see if anyone recognizes this story. I have the TV on, but I was in the kitchen making food and only hearing the TV. I was considering putting grilled chicken on a bun right when the previous show ended and a new show came on. So totally different sensory input than when I normally have the TV on. The next show was about Pompeii and a story I read decades ago and had totally forgotten about came to mind. It was a children's book, about a blind orphan in Pompeii that had a companion dog. "Blind" and "orphan" in that time means a street beggar and food was a big problem. I remember that when Mt. Vesuvius blew its top the dog managed to safely lead the boy to the docks and only when the kid was grabbed by someone with a boat did the dog turn and run back into Pompeii. What partially triggered the memory is that I was thinking about a bread product when the show came on and the final chapter of the book involved archaeologists excavating Pompeii and wondering why in all the chaos a dog died holding a loaf of bread in its mouth. Anyone else read this story?

Sure enough, the gray isn't covered.
Target had a sale on Miss Clairol Natural Instincts
SO, this is good information. I shall now go and try Miss Clairol Natural Instincts. My problem is that I actually LIKE my gray, which is more silver, but I do NOT like my base color, which is mouse-butt brown. I'd color it if I could find something that DOES NOT cover the gray!

Pumpkin Face is starting to look her age.
Tell her I know exactly how she feels. Hope her asthma is under control very soon. Give her a skritch for me, and her sister as well!

Has everybody gotten their flu shots for this year?
I'll be getting mine on the 26th. It isn't a huge priority for me, because I only go out once a month (except for Dr.s' appointments), and Suzanne and Tara don't come over if they are under the weather.

Anyone else read this story?
No, but I'd love to, even now!

Looks like I'll be getting offline early today. Time to read and watch a movie, even! This is good stuff!

I get a flu shot every year. When I was woking in the hospital, it was a requirement. If you did not get one, you had to wear a mask when seeing patients.

I have gotten a flu shot for as long as I can remember. I have allergies and asthma.

I have also had several bouts of pneumonia. I have also had the pneumonia vaccines.
Now, when I get a cold, it usually lingers in my chest; ending up with asthmatic bronchitis.. pretty much the same as pneumonia.. treated the same.

I just cannot, for the life of me, understand all the traffic leading into Boston! I drove in yesterday morning, leaving 1.5 hours for travel. I got there 5 minutes late.
Today, I was driving into Boston for an appointment; not as far as yesterday, so I allowed 1 hour for the commute. I ended up being 40 minutes late!!!
Mind you, I live 13 miles from Boston!!!

I am going to have to allow at least 1.5-2 hours for commuting! It was ridiculous.
Buses, Trucks, flatbeds with construction equipment, dump trucks, moving vans.. and then the people illegally parking.... These appointments were scheduled at 10:30 and 11AM.. not during the supposedly rush hour!!

Really tired today.. Treated myself to a Pumpkin Spice Latte this afternoon.. has not kicked in yet...sigh.. have a meeting tonight at the Church, which I would like to attend. Have to wake up!!
