He looks good to me, a bit on the lean side but nothing to be alarmed about.  He looks long, but if that's a standard tile I see he's not as long bodied as I pictured, lol.  His coat is such a beautiful shade.  I'm glad he's getting back to normal.  I'm finding that keeping a daily log is helpful, I'm starting noticing a pattern with my wee one, good and bad.  It's helpful in figuring out what the latest routine is.  best to you and your handsome boy.

Yes, it is the standard size. :-D

Thank you, I have always thought Mukkia is a beautiful boy too! :-D

I am glad that you think he looks good, even being thin. I am just waiting to see my little old green eyed man be back to his healthy body weight.

I do keep a log on him for everything. I started back in February when this all of the sudden occurred. I too find it helpful. Not only for myself, but for his vet too.

He's looking good. I know he had been a little picky with his food, but if you can get him to try the high calorie food, & he likes it, then that may help, as suggested.

Glad to see you back!

The last picture was before. However, the others are from the weekend, and today.

Do you think I am right, do you think he has gained some weight?

Thank you! Actually, he is not a tall or long cat. He is a medium boy. :-)

His average weight has always been 9.8- 10. Never really changing even by the ounce! That's amazing to weigh in the same every single time every year. Now, he goes every three to six months, because he is older. Up until his illness, that is. Since he became ill his initial weight was down exactly one pound, then dropped, down to 8.3. I am not sure where he is at right now, because my scale shows him at less, but I am just going to wait to see what Friday reveals. I am focusing on How many things he has started doing again. That is helping me wait out the Friday appointment.
Some of the food my boy is on:  All Max Calorie, Royal Canin Recovery rs - iams Veterinary maximum calorie plus and I haven't tried this one yet - ProPlan Veterinary  Critical Nutrition

Your situation is much different than mine, I'm not sure how these high calorie/high protein would effect Mukkia's little belly but it's something to ask the vet and consider.

Hope it helps.

I think Mukkia does look a bit thin in your recent pics, but I don't think I'd change his food as long as he's happy with it.  And since he has the vet appt. on Friday, just leave things as they are till then and see what the vet says/suggests.

It could be that he will just stay thin now. My sister's cat is also 14.  He is on thyroid medication. He lost a lot of weight before he was diagnosed, then gained it back once he started the medication.  He's looking thinner again these days, but the vet says his blood work was fine and that it's just normal for older cats body shape to change and look thinner as they age. So that could be part of what's happening with Mukkia too.

Try not to stress.  If he's eating, using the litter box and playing, I'd say that is a sign.

Thank you! That's so kind of you.
@kittensmom has helped me to not be stressed, and focus on his accomplishments instead. That is what I have been doing, and honestly it has helped not only me but it has helped him too. He is playing, he is eating he is getting into the windows. the one by my desk, the one where his hammock is, and now the one where I put the stairs. he is just loving life! :-) I think that is what is important right now. It truly warms my heart. :-) :-) :-) he's my baby, my little green eyed old Man! :-)

Oh, one thing that may be worth mentioning is: since I have not been on this site. I noticed Mukkia had been having some white stuff on his peepee. At first, I had no clue what it was. So, I picked him up and checked it out. it was clay from the clumping litter after he urinated. so, I watched him use the box, and I noticed that when he uses it now he is much lower than he used to be. I don't know if I should mention that to the veterinarian, because maybe he is a bit weak,? Or, if it's just common as cats get older. I'm kind of thinking it's the latter of the two.

I think he was a 3 his whole adult life, .

Think 2 now?

What do you think?
I think if we didn't know he had been sick that his weight would not even be an issue. I wanted to give you a realistic scale to look at not something else to obsess over. You mention that he has plenty energy to play. he looks like he's keeping himself groomed. The picture of him sleeping on the pink towel looks like a relaxed animal that is not in pain. Older animals also take longer to gain. Even though they can lose it at the drop of a hat. Now would be a good time for you and the vet to plan a diet that gives him the needed nutrients/protein level for a long and healthy old age.

I know what you mean. :-)
Sadly, I have always been too analytical. I have not forgotten to ask his veterinarian about the high protein diet on Friday. ;-)
The pink towel is actually his favorite worn out blanket. Once mine, but I didn't mind giving up ownership to him. That picture of him laying on it is prior to the illness and then the one of him laying on it with the sagging skin was just after the bologna diagnosis. :-)

I don't know what made him ill, but I honestly don't believe that he is ill anymore. :-)

I don't think he is dangerously thin, but the thing that is most encouraging is the fact that he his playing as much as he is
 Yes, I agree
, and he is playing soooooooooooooooo much!

I am soooooooooo proud of my little green eyes!

He is such a strong willed, determined boy, just like his mommy!

We never say, 'can't, because we will prove to the world we can!
<----- I think those are weights?
