Thanks! I'll tell her you said so. I just love her to pieces. She's the best-behaved cat I've ever had. I got her three years ago and she's never given me any trouble. I got her by answering a post on Craigslist about a "free black cat". I was already looking around for a cat to adopt and posts like that make me so nervous - you never know what sickos are out there looking for a free black cat. The person who gave her to me said she was 6 months old and "definitely not pregnant" but when I took her into work the next day to get her spayed it turned out she was actually a year old AND pregnant. I'm so glad I saved her; things might have gone badly for poor Sniffles if she'd ended up with someone else. Anyway, she makes me smile everyday and I just adore her. It's true what they say, sometimes the best things in life are free.

Me, too. I love all the photos and stories of cute cat behavior. I'm only allowed two in my apartment and this is a way to see what lots of cats are up to.
I had a cat once who shredded nothing but bare wood, furniture or sisal left him cold. I have an old rocking chair that still shows the signs of his scratching, he was really fierce about that and had huge claws.
Ooh, nice little perch - purrfectly positioned for pouncing on or pawing at someone's head as they sleep should Carrot feel a little bored and peckish through the night.
I bet a taller version of that will look lovely. Does the wood get clawed and shredded in the same way as sizal covered posts do?

Mine don't like scratching posts so I have a special chair that they can scratch on any time. It's an old one that was given to me and I really didn't like itWe got my cat a scratching post and he scratches everything but the scratching post, so we gave it away, but he likes to scratch the couches
One of my cats does that on the carpet, I scold him every time and he is doing it less now. He also scratches the carpet although he has pad and scratching posts galore. At least he is not wrecking the furniture.
