Well, welcome to being owned by a tortie! 🤣 It sounds like she's trouble on legs. My cat Loki continued to jump onto people's backs and shoulders, either from the floor or from above you, as a very heavy adult male. Which wasn't necessarily a problem, except sometimes he'd do it without warning (including when you didn't even know he was there) so you'd suddenly be hit with his full weight out of nowhere. That was fun...

Same, LOL! Until I scrolled down fully I was admiring the cute kitty in that first picture!

I always had problems getting people to understand that my special needs dog might not want to be petted (ESPECIALLY without permission or if you didn't let her see you were about to touch her, Good Lord!). She was a sweetheart if you were gentle and understanding and loved pets on the head, but she had severe hip dysplasia which made her react badly if people touched her sore places without warning. Most people were understanding, but a few, not so much. I was always really worried she'd bite somebody (especially a child) and do them serious injury, because the occasional person would ignore her warnings (and mine!) even if it was really obvious she wasn't happy.

I was in the same boat as iPappy iPappy re/socialising her with towns, but she never got used to them because she wriggled so much it was impossible to carry her round when she was too small to walk far, and she was a bit jumpy to begin with (this being before we found out about the hip problems and getting her pain meds, acupuncture, and eventually hip replacement surgery). She was otherwise a star at obedience. She just didn't cope well with town streets, and it took years before she'd walk between the carpark and the grooming parlour without lots of encouragement (I needed professional help keep her coat in order, again because of the hip problem). Another time, I'd do so much differently, like being more thorough in asking the breeder about hip scores and working way harder on getting the puppy used to towns.

But anyway, who WOULDN'T put all in the hard puppy-raising work for THIS LITTLE FACE?

She was a gorgeous girl and definitely made me a lifelong collie person - there are few other breeds I'd consider. They're just such lovely all-round dogs, and one of the most trustworthy breeds with cats. Strangely, my impression is they're way harder to find here in their native Scotland than they are in the US and Canada. Nowadays most shepherds, and indeed pet owners, prefer border collies, who are also lovely, but way too high energy for me personally.

This is her when she was all grown up. She was one of those special pets that you sometimes get where there's a special bond. I miss her. 💔

What does it mean when a cop pulls up really close behind you, almost hitting your bumper? Does it mean they are about to pull you over? I was like heck no! I signalled & pulled over into the other lane. I was in the passing lane, so maybe he was in a hurry & wanted to get by me? I saw that he pulled somebody else over up ahead. Glad it wasn't me, I had to get to Tim Hortons! 😆

One time when DH and I were newlyweds we were on a road trip with some friends for a conference. DH was taking a turn driving the car that belonged to the parents of the other couple we were riding with. We were following another car of our friends all going together.

I don’t know how fast we were going because my friend and I were riding in the backseat behind our husbands. DH got pulled over and our friend driving the car ahead of us noticed and pulled over also; maybe 150/200 feet in front of us. The cop noticed them stop too and found out we were following them. So he let DH off with a warning and gave our friend the ticket instead!:doh: 20 years later it’s much more amusing! We felt so bad at the time! People were giving him such a hard time for it that weekend. Fortunately he wasn’t mad and laughed too.

My wife and me were bringing my uncle back from his cabin in the Adirondacks, driving along Route 104 near Williamson, when a State Trooper pulled up behind us and turned on his lights. I wasn't speeding, and wasn't hanging out in the passing lane, but I pulled over anyway. The Trooper zoomed past me and pulled the guy in front of me over, then looked back and waved me on. Another time, I was on my way to work on the midnight shift when I got pulled over. There had been a series of arson fires in the area, and someone reported seeing a car similar to mine. When the cops saw my lunch pail and hard hat, they let me go on my way.

Last week Samai decided that Kumal needed to die. So she lept at him and knocked over and broke my 40" tv. My son said "let me look at the Goodwill in Flag". I thought, "ok, everyone there is rich", but I didn't expect much.
He just bought me a 65" and a 32" (for my mom), both Samsung and tested for $45. I looked up the specs on the model of the 65", and just wow. It is a quad core, 3 different sound systems, wifi and other numerous things I don't quite understand what they are. New, this tv sold for $2k. He's bringing me a stand for it this weekend.
I love Goodwill... and my son.

Wow that's an amazing deal!! We still have the straps on the back of our tv from when the kids were little that hold it to the back of our cabinet. I feel like I've seen too many videos on the internet of cats knocking them down. It's not kid proof now. it's cat proof! Not that Mooch is anywhere near able to do any damage since she doesn't jump up anymore. But she may not be our only for forever.

I had a nice little 32" flat screen in the spare bedroom that got knocked over several times because it's on the jump off for the window perches- did I learn? Of course not,it finally smashed and I got a bigger one for my bedroom and replaced that with another 32" that I've still not cat proofed but I did extend the jump off area with a larger glass top(3yrs ago)

I mean to ask- how would you cat proof a TV on a stand ?there's nothing to secure it to,is there?

We have our TV securely bolted to a triangular metal stand that sits in a corner of the living room. Digger, at least so far, has been the only one to show interest in it, although our Angel cat, Burdock, almost got it while in a bout of the zoomies. He launched himself from the couch towards a cat tree and, at 17 pounds, toppled the tree over onto the side of the set when he landed. Fortunately, that particular tree had a carpeted tube at the top, so no damage was done.

My son is bringing me a rather large stand and the tv will bolt to that. The new tv is so large it will have to go up against the wall. Hopefully, this will stop any topples.
I guess Mooch and Noodles were beyond the kitten years when we got our tv
The girls will be 7 this month. Do the kitten years ever end? :)

You could screw the base of the TV to the stand using something like a mirror clip. But if the stand isn’t heavy enough you might also need to attach the stand to a wall or floor so that cat can’t tip the whole thing. I am fortunate that neither of my current two girls likes to jump. Lost a TV to my former girl who liked to sleep on top of it. No issues with her five pounds toppling it, but her puking into its vents killed it

Those are mats? WOW- I want them ... adorable, where in the world did she find them?I thought at first they were cat pics & thought" what mats? WHAT the heck is he talking about?!rofl
I did some digging, and those 'mats' are from Collections, Etc., and they are called 'Napping Cat Accent Rugs', at $14.99 each. They are also on E-bay for $17.99, plus shipping, and Wal-Mart for $22.98. So, there you go.
