My school is holding a career fair next Friday. Tomorrow, I have a meeting with a faculty member who will help me prepare a resume. I'm not really expecting anything to come out of this fair, but my education and job experience seem pretty meager
I would take the remaining kitten back. No need to be nasty about it, just "You obviously don't really want a kitten so I'll find another home for her."I would have gladly taken them back. I have no idea what to do...
Yes, I saw that, too, and had exactly the same reaction!Wasn't sure where to put this, but this is the best news story I've heard/read all year.
Three Rhino Poachers Eaten By Lions in South Africa
Actually, our ancestors knew exactly what they were doing. It was part of a deliberate policy to exterminate the Native Americans by depriving them of their primary food source. They didn't, however, realize that it was possible to drive the passenger pigeon into extinction, as far as I can tell. They didn't realize that passenger pigeons were actually dependent on those huge flocks; couldn't survive with smaller flocks.Considering how long it took our own ancestors to figure out that if they shot millions of bison from the train for funsies they might run out of bison, I'm not going to cast aspersions on anyone's intelligence if they don't quite understand conservation principles.
Sometimes that actually works in your favor, as bosses are glad to find someone with no "bad habits" to unlearn. You learn their way from day one. Seen that happen more than once.I'm not really expecting anything to come out of this fair, but my education and job experience seem pretty meager
Sending good thoughts your way.Just wanted to give a quick update on my foster kitten. Unfortunately Froggy doesn't seem to be responding to the injectable antibiotic for his pneumonia. The vet added a liquid oral antibiotic; there are concerns about oral meds for him obviously, but under the circumstances we need to try. He is still alert, active, and eating, so the vet does not feel euthanizing him is necessary at this point. I'm still hoping he'll take a turn for the better and get past this.
I read a story once, I think in Reader's Digest, a woman said that she was feeding a stray cat every day. She noticed the cat was getting plumper and plumper. One day the cat was sporting a collar with a phone number. She called the number and found out the cat was not a stray, the owner had noticed the cat getting fat and wondered if someone else was feeding the cat, and the woman relating the story was the fourth person to call and say they were feeding the cat daily.
Moral of the Story: Cats will wear "stray" disguises if it gets them food or attention. This kitten just learned it early.
I had some ferals I was feeding years ago and then we had a bad blizzard. All the cats disappeared except for two of them. I wondered how they survive the blizzard until one day they showed up flea collars on. I found out they belonged to the neighbors down the street.I read a story once, I think in Reader's Digest, a woman said that she was feeding a stray cat every day.
