All that country music took me back to the 70s camping in Peterborough, Ontario. My father is a country music lover so I don't mind listening to it. I don't like heavy metal and hard core rap. I like hip hop you can dance to just not the hard stuff. I also don't like overly graphic violent movies. Friday 13th and all the old cheesy horror movies I am OK with. As for favorite older movie it would have to be Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. I bought the DVD because I was certain Karen had watched it as a kid. She watched it with me and said she had never saw it before:eek2:

I never saw it either Shane Kent Shane Kent lol. There's lots I didn't see. Didn't have any younger brothers or sisters to watch kids stuff with..on a positive I remember watching movies with my mother...some too old for me but I tried hard to follow along and understand.

My father loves country music. Back in the day when it was cheap to go to concerts we often went to central mass in Worcester to the big concert place...watched monster trucks there too. We also went to Hampton beach casino ballroom for smaller shows.... Lots of good memories of concerts with my parents.

Shane Kent Shane Kent --Huh...I never pictured you as a hip hop guy. Post your favorite song from YouTube! I like to hear all kinds of music as long as the words speak to me. You mentioning Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is a huge positive! My 3 brothers and I watched that all the time as kids. :)
Final Song of the day The Fool by Lee Ann Womack. I would say it's a tear in my beer song, but since I don't drink anymore, I'll say it's a tear in my...bottled water song? ;)

tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 --Of course, we should have mentioned Patsy Cline already! What took us so long? Love that song.
foxxycat foxxycat --My Dad is in love with Reba!
Shane Kent Shane Kent --Oh man! That brings back positive memories for me to. I danced to that on the dance floor too! Gosh, I must have danced 5 years of my life away at the clubs. You, Karen, and me might be the only ones that remember this song below:

Pawsitive of my day. Whenever Martin bumps his head, leg or back on something I always run to him and pick him up and rub his boo boo till he wants to get down.

Today, he slipped off the table and bumped his head. This time he came running over to my feet very quickly a mewing and waited until I picked him up.

Who says a cat can’t be trained. Poor little thing.

AWWWWW! But Lalexa67 Lalexa67 , you probably have your hands more than full with other stuff in life, right? So when Martin needs holding and snorgling, you KNOW he can come right here to me. :insertevillaugh::bigeyes:

Shane Kent Shane Kent M maggiedemi don't even get me started! I grew up on those 90s tunes! Still too young for the clubs, but I had a mix tape with both those songs on it. The track after "it takes 2" on my tape:

Might as well throw one more out there to see if y'all know it:

foxxycat foxxycat I sure do love me some Reba, too. tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 Nobody compares to Patsy, though.

tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 --Where are you getting all these Waylon songs that I've never heard of! This is amazing. Thank you!
tinydestroyer tinydestroyer --It's a dance party in here tonight! I think we drove everybody else away. Here's a dance tune that has a little bit more substance in it. They used to play this in Alexandria Bay all the time.
They're all up on YouTube, M maggiedemi . You'll find all my own favorites on my channel which I gave you the link to. But there are a lot more. There was a guy from the UK who went by Teddie488 on there -- he was a real Waylon fanatic and made a lot of the videos I share. Tragically, he passed away right after I became aware of his existence. He sure did know his Waylon, though. And there are a fair number of other people on YouTube posting. That's one more amazingly wonderful thing about living in the time of the Internet -- anyone, of any age, background, what have you, from anywhere, can access all kinds of music and listen and love it without anyone dissing them. It's opened up all kinds of great stuff for me, as you'll see if you look around my channel. And I don't have much time for noodling around like that -- that's just stuff I've discovered, one way or another, that I love enough to keep.

Hey you forgot about me!! I spent many friday and Saturday nights dancing at this club to all the latest hip hop artists. I still have that album by CC music factory. I drove my mom nuts playing that deep bass music on my 150 watt stereo that dad got for me for my 11th birthday..boy was that the cool thing...those 3 foot box speakers cranked up high..

This was my favorite..
And this one isn't too bad

And this one a friend used to do a skit with ne to this song

I could dance for hours..and I was stone cold sober. I didn't talk much to guys...I just went to unwind and let it loose. I don't know why but I could groove for hours...ahhh the good ol days when we were all hot stuff and young!

Shane Kent Shane Kent - Not a bad book, but nothing like his later stuff.

;)

(Okay - who knows the author without Googling?)

Lots of great shares! But one can't mention female singers in the CW genre without a nod to the Voice:
tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 - Just melts my Heart every time.

:)

Another (more modern one) for you - recalled by David Allan Coe in tying four oldies together ("I'm thinking tonight of my blue eyes, Concerning the great speckled bird, I didn't know God made honky-tonk angels, And went back to the wild side of life...").

1CatOverTheLine 1CatOverTheLine -- beautiful. There were a lot of ladies in CW with powerful voices, weren't there?
And I LOVE the steel, too. So I'll leave you all for the evening with this by the greatest of all:
(The song may be "Cloudy Days", but IMHO if you could listen to sunshine, this is exactly what it'd sound like.)
