SO. We got momma back. She is back to talking :) she talked to my favorite tech at the vet all day. Ciarra was smiten with her lol. So shes feeling better. She has cone of shame on and is only nibbling on food. She is not allowed to feed the kittens per vet. They don't want her incisions to be messed with for like a week.
Babies are great took them to college today :3 They get their education.
I cleaned mommas kennel and disinfected it with pet safe cleaner, go her pelleted litter to reduce dust and stuff going near her incision and got her the smelliest food i could find to encourage her to eat. and some broth treat packets hopefully she'll like that. I'll try some canned tuna too. She needs to get nutrients!

Good she’s home! She will begin eating better soon.

Not nursing for a week after surgery is unusual.

Does mom have internal or external stitches?

It was just a regular spay, right?

Her uterus was severely inflamed and pussy the infection was very very severe. If i waited half a day longer she would have most likely died. Shes on antibiotics to make sure the infection didn't spread and pain medicine

Thats what they called it! I was so thankful for her and her kittens to be okay. They basically explained to me the kittens could have been still born or spontaneously aborted due to it.

Try Gerber turkey baby food. Cats usually love it.

Be sure to keep the babies warm.

Can mom reach her food with the cone on? You can remove it for her to eat if need be.

I am glad that Momma cat is home. She likely is nauseated from the pain meds - I would research options then discuss them with your vet (if you create a thread in the Health forum, you might get answers from our fellow members who use vets that are feline specialists & know the latest pain mgmt strategies). It is so cute that you take the babies out & about. I had a neonate that I had to take with me everywhere in the daytime - he was a foster fail that I took on road trips and horseback riding.
I can hardly wait to see pics & bless you for not giving in despite the added stress and strain to your busy life :yess::thumbsup:

I just read through this whole thread. Wow, good on you for taking care of them the way you have!! Will Momma’s milk dry up if she isnt nursing for a week? What an ordeal, glad they are all doing well! Hope to see more pics soon :)

Sometimes milk can be produced 2 weeks after nursing otherwise. Its gonna be a long 6 weeks lol all my coworkers were like welcome to motherhood. Lmao but i dont even get maternity leave!! 20180419_132823.jpg here's my little bundles of joy. And a boots kitty for good measure. He likes to watch the babies also steal clean underwear. 20180417_235206.jpg

Prayers and vibes for Momma Kitty - pyrometra is a devastating illness & she has a long road to recovery even with modern medicine. You are doing an amazing job with all of them and I salute you! Your boots kitty is adorable - what a cutie.
Please keep the updates coming

What makes me happy is that shes talking ill have to get it on camera its so funny. Its a series of Merrow and mer shes so sweet. Thats how i know shes going to be okay! Were making sure to space the pain meds appropriately so she doesnt get an upset tummy but it has given her some constipation were gonna give her turkey and pumpkin baby food and see if thst helps. She had more dry food today i keep the food bowl full to make it easier on her cone head sone tuna on the very top gets her going :)
