Hi, it's nice to meet everyone. So I'm here because I need some help. I was visiting a friend's house yesterday, and they were telling me about some cats that were hanging around there house. One was a black male, and very skittish. The other was a white and tabby female who was very loving and sweet. I saw the black kitty on my way into their house, and he ran off. I'm a huge cat lover, but know to leave a scared kitty alone.
I visited for a bit, they told me about the kitties, and said they named the female Peaches. They showed me a picture they had, and I thought she was very cute. They mentioned taking them to a shelter, since they can't take them in. They told me I might not see Peaches, because she only comes around every couple of days. To my delight, when I went to leave she was there. I approached her, and she gave a friendly meow, and asked for pets. I happily obliged, and noticed that her belly was very round.
I turned to my friend and said. "Uh, do you know that she's pregnant?" He replied that he hadn't but that he really wanted her in a safe place. So I took her in. However I know nothing about cat pregnancies. Or how to help. It's been a long time since I was around a pregnant kitty.
I know she's pretty far along, because her belly is bulged out, her nipples are pink, and the hair around them is thin. I can also see movement if I watch her belly carefully. I'm just not sure how far along she is, and I want to be prepared to help her. I read a bit online, and went out immediately to get her the correct type of food, and I got a box for her to nest in. Although I think I might find a bigger one. I could just really use some advise.
Here's a picture of Peaches.
*Sorry for the long post. Just wanted to explain how I got her.
