OMGosh!! That behavior is uncalled for!! Many people cannot straighten their knees. There are ways around it!! No compassion.
The tech should have immediately contacted his Supervisor and the Radiologist as to how to get the best images!! NO Excuses for that lack of care.
What does this tech do when someone comes in with a fracture? Try to "whip" it into position.. Obviously either a student or newbie.
Actually he's been there for a few YEARS- I was very shocked and it was unacceptable behavior,I definitely made it known and of course I got many apologies

His comment about never seeing anything like it was absurd- I thought the same exact thing as you, what if someone has a fracture and it's all twisted,he could seriously injure someone further

Well, tomorrow I want to call my surgeons office to be sure the CT was okay..... It's making me very nervous

That is still unacceptable, inappropriate behavior along with comments. If he has been there for years, then it could have been something to do with the Radiologist complaining about the quality and/or position of the images. I know what goes on, I was an Imagining specialist (X-ray, U/S) for my entire life. (((hugs)) to you....

artiemom artiemom I feel so badly for Shamus. It's too bad G would not allow you to take him. I know you're a cat person and don't know much about dogs, but a simple kind heart would do wonders...and you have that. I hope things work out well for that poor pup.
Kwik Kwik When I had a meniscus tear in my left knee, I couldn't straighten my leg out. The tech put rolled-up towels under my knee to help the knee. He certainly didn't make a big deal out of it. He was a professional and realized that not all legs can be completely straightened out. That was just rude and very unprofessional and I hope you ripped him a new one.
susanm9006 susanm9006 Welcome home!

I had the kidney biopsy yesterday and will get the results back in about a week. It went well, not a lot of pain or anything. Very little blood, thankfully. I am to stay down today and tomorrow, no heavy lifting, no changing bedsheets, nothing like that. I guess I could use a couple days away from housework! Before Rick left for his walk, he forbade me from even cleaning the boxes as he didn't want me bending and twisting.

The nurse that I had for the biopsy I also had when the port was inserted into my chest. He's an avid reader and he had suggested a couple of books for me to check out. I got them from Thriftbooks and devoured them. So, of course, we chatted about that yesterday. He remembered me and remembered suggesting the books. He gave me a couple more suggestions. He knows his books. Rick just shook his head. He says I can find a book lover pretty much anywhere I go. When I was going through chemo, I was reading the latest Pendergast and the guy next to me started talking to me about Preston/Child. Turns out, he was a big fan, too.

So I guess for my three things today:
  • I drink a lot of cranberry juice mixed with icy cold water or decaf iced tea.
  • General straightening-up in the kitchen. Nothing big.
  • Flop down on my recliner with a good book and Mollipop on my lap. I have some e-books from the library and there are a couple cozy mysteries in the mix.

Early this morning someone threw up - just liquid - on the tightly woven rug at the foot of our bed. So I got to clean that up. Then the other someone threw up his breakfast which the first one - yuck - ate. So I had to re-feed number two, which meant number one had to have a few little smidges more or he'd bother the other cat. But by now, as I type, I'm having my coffee.

We'll go out for lunch today. I want to stop at this very nice farm stand sort of near where we plan to go because I need to see what fresh cut herbs they'll be stocking. I have a talk on herbs for flavor and fragrance scheduled for later this month. The owner of the feed and mercantile hosting it agrees with me that getting bunches of several different herbs, taking them apart, reassembling them as assortments - a sprig each of rosemary, thyme, sage etc and tie with a ribbon - for handouts would be nice.

Also today I want to finish the entry for my visit to the park with cherry trees in peak bloom on Tuesday. Do people want a link posted when it is completed?

And I need to bake cookies for Himself. What kind? What else, chocolate chip.

Cat puke has been my life for the last few weeks. Willow has/had a mystery illness or food allergy and was puking every single morning. She hasn’t once since I returned so she may be over it but Lola threw up her dinner all over her rug yesterday. Caring for older cats is a lot of work!

Yesterday was filled with pre trip stuff so I didn’t get around to buying the lawnmower. It is first thing on my list for this morning. I have to move things around in the garage to fit it in after I return. Then a load of puked on rugs.

So I called the surgeons office today and if there was any problems with my CT then theyd know about it and I shouldn't worry- my cousins ankle is so bad he's not able to drive the hour & a half to take me next Thurs so I tried booking a cab but they can't guarantee the exact time- what's the sense in booking then?I need to be there 5am and not late

Well my sweet young friend David ( who did my shelves & screens) said ' I gotcha Kwik'- sure hope so,lol. Kerry never showed yesterday to practice feeding the cats " oh,I thought it was Friday". ... Arggggh!

And to top it all off Max is having another FHV flare up and his eyes infected again- trying to get him in to the opthalmologist.....

Thats my 3 things I wanted to address today- I can't keep up anymore

Since I thought it was going to rain all day yesterday (it did not), I need to pick up groceries today after work. Also need to clean litter boxes. Husband needs to send 180 days of CPAP reading to the MVA so I need to get that downloaded off the SD card and print it out. Need to ask youngest when he'll be around long enough to have some sort of birthday celebration for him in the next few days. Got to figure out what I'm picking up for dinner tonight as well.

Winchester Winchester and Kwik Kwik Re:Shamus, As of yesterday, he is still in the apartment. The STAFF are taking care of him. They are taking turns walking him, feeding him, etc. I ran into the Store's manager as she was taking him in for a walk. I also saw the PM and the Facilities Director. What is a huge issue is over the long week-end; as Monday is a holiday: Patriots Day in Massachusetts.
The PM tried calling the local kennel, but they never responded. Such a shame, as it is just down the road. PM cannot do anything without Sully's approval. He is out of the hospital and now in Rehab. Who knows for what and how long. We are all hoping this situation works out or the best.
I heard that one of the maintenance guys offered to take Shamus for the weekend. He has a house, 2 cats and a Yorkie; but, they need approval from Sully. dam.
I also heard that the EX was in the building. Her mom lives here; so who knows what she was doing.
I was also thinking of offering to keep Shamus in his apartment, and walking, feeding him.. over the weekend.

Shamus is such a loving dog.. really loves people and still has a puppy temperament; But, he desperately needs to be trained as to commands; He is not. Just wants to love peopleL licks, looking at you with 'puppy dog' eyes, and a loving look. I have yet heard him bark.

Winchester, please rest up after the biopsy.
Keith, Somehow I know things will work out. You have found yourself an angel, in your new friend.

Today: RAIN day..
Slept late, Geoffrey allowed me to sleep.
Not much planned. Perhaps coffee with the crew. And all the regular stuff.
Geoffrey did vomit 2 days in a row, with a decreased appetite, but he seems to be better this morning. Still decreasing his meds.
I really have to do a lot of paper work today--- printing stuff up for the Mass, making copies of things for recertification. A pain..

Picked up the lawnmower yesterday - the box was two feet tall and four feet long, barely fit in the back of my HRV. The store people loaded it for me but I didn’t want to leave it in my car til my son could come help. It took some maneuvering, but I managed to slide the box out and onto a dolly. Today I will use the reciprocal saw to cut down one side of the box so I can roll the mower out. I also have to make a visit to the dementia aunt who is frantic over some tax papers she received. I am certain it is just her annual tax bill but I will pick it up and get it paid for her. Probably will stop at my favorite thrift store while I am in that part of town.

But before anything I need to get a rowing session in, it’s been a week since my last one and my back and shoulders is demanding it,

Oh thanks so much for the update on Shamus- there's alot of really kind people around you-Its so sweet of you to consider taking care of him over the weekend so he can stay in his own home but it sounds like he's the type of dog that would be very content at the maintenance man's place with constant companionship-I guess its difficult to contact Sully in rehab for consent?

I hope Geoffrey feels much better very quickly,he's such a sweet boy- I pray for G all the time❤And send him good vibes :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:

Today is bright sunshine! Windows open!! Geoffrey woke me when the sun came up.. Yes, he pooped!

Gave him a good breakfast. Right now, he is pacing and crying.. as if he is looking for something or someone, also drinking a ton of water. I am expecting a vomit. This is how he acts before one. Or how he acts after one-- looked around twice, cannot find any evidence of one.
Geoffrey led me over to brush him, very early... Now, looking out window at the birds.
Jumped down, and is still lapping water--- a ton since I got up... weird.

Today:
Regular morning stuff-- including Geoffrey
Many errands to run.. just need money!
Have to decide on what for supper for today and tomorrow.
Trash
Clean litter genie. Really need a new one. After a year, it seems to hold in the smell..

BTW, Shamus is out of the building, with Sully's Ex.

Not a darn thing that I must do today - feels wonderful. Never did get to then lawnmower yesterday, though, so maybe later if I feel like it. My bedroom needs tidying up and sheets changed and I think I may put screens on because it is supposed to get up to 80 this weekend.

Mixed a cart's worth of potting soil: sieved a 5 gallon sheet rock bucket of heavy wet soil shoveled out of ditch where it was impinging on culvert (occasional handyman did the shoveling a few days ago.) Small rocks were separated into a plastic pot, wet leaves and twigs (and earthworms) into a bucket to go down to compost heap. Sieved clay soil, equal amount of potting soil from a planter, equal amount of Pro-mix, couple of scoops of sand - all mixed together. Close to two 5 gallon buckets worth, set aside. Tidied up, put cart back in tool shed. Came indoors and took an acetaminophen. Hope to do it all again tomorrow. I had hoped to start potting some things but my back is saying "Time out!"
