Have never quite seen a cat like that! Looks like he’s still getting the feel of things. Thank you for taking him in, I bet he’ll like the health care & stability & love. If cats could talk, I bet he’d tell you a lot. How many kitties do you have? I want to hear more about this one, as time goes on.Our newbie Samson, rescued from a hoarder with a big heart. He had a mite and ringworm infestation but is all cleared up. He is pretty large for being under 1, and scares the other cats away when he bounds towards them to play.View attachment 443138
He struck me, too. The coloring including the eyes, the long hair, the size. His paws don't look it here but they are huge. He is very vocal like my other orange, very affectionate. He flops down at our feet like our late calico girl used to, which is quite endearing to us. He acts a bit like a dog at times, and we wonder if there isn't some Maine Coon somewhere in there. He is one of 5 now... a tuxedo girl, two grey guys, two orange guys.Have never quite seen a cat like that! Looks like he’s still getting the feel of things. Their catio is just protected by chicken wires (and a wooden roof) which reminds me to change them asap as they are getting rusts. I wish I could install permanent one-way windows but the building owner allowed us to use wires only as it is actually a mini terrace fronting the side entry gate of the whole compound and residents are passing by there. I have two mini terraces and thinking of making a catio on the other one too next to the bedroom. But still, people would be going by there and that includes those kids. Bourbon cannot easily be frightened by anyone, and may in fact fight back if provoked. Those I am worried about are Graham and Barley, especially Barley who is a gentle creature. Graham is the most friendly and trusting one now and I was even thinking she was given something she should not have taken but anyway, I will ask my husband to make their catio more (nasty) child-proof. LOL.I am thinking that all the kitties are reacting to those kids. I had some bad kids around the rescues before they became rescues. I did not know that there was one other lady rescuing a few. It was years before she finally spoke up. I suspect that she may have saved a few kitties that I missed! Mitsy vanished and for a long time I thought she and her babies were gone. Like you, I worried. Cats are so smart! Mitsy was trying to lead the bad ones away. She pretended not to have babies and she hid them! She and her babies were okay. If that kid was yelling at Bourbon, he likely scared Graham. Poor Graham. Can you kind of block the kid from seeing them? Maybe just put a small barrier between the cats and kids? Too bad the kitties don’t have a one way mirror too. I am so glad that Graham is better!
