Oh, my......Lady...she is just the perfect poster child for PRECIOUS !

She steals my breath away every time you put her up on here. Dagger in the heart, too......so much of her gives me flashbacks of my Andy. Petite, those expressions and the eyes.........OMG, just huge circles for eyes!

Very, very sweet.

I know. I’m not a fan of cat clothes either but if they like it, then it’s okay with me. Lady is the only one here who likes clothing. BJ likes stuff on his head! Lol Very strange!:headscratch: BJ is unique!
When I bought the harness I kind of figured it might be a waste of money but Lady likes to walk in the garden and the only safe way to allow it is with a harness. She can get out of it but she has remained in it outside. I think she feels more secure wearing it outside. It kind of suits her too. It looks a little ridiculous on Banjo and she seems to agree since she immediately rips it off! To each his or her own I guess!
Yeah, my cats did NOT like being harnessed and leashed when my ex bought these and said they would like to go for a walk in the snow for the first time. *They did NOT.*
Well, "Stuff On My Cat" probably runs the gamut of stuff on the cat, on the cat's head, etc.!

white shadow white shadow i got a dagger too when I read your post. Andy could be Ladys’ relative. No wonder she gets your heart! I was struck by the resemblance. :redheartpump:

tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 I am not sure why Lady likes the harness. I’ve never had a cat even tolerate a collar. As we always say, every cat is different. I do think I (sort of) figured out why BJ likes the feel of something on his head though. I was looking through my early photos of him and I often found him with his head pushed against things he liked. I don’t know if he was self petting, scenting or maybe he even felt secure under things? I think he associates inside things with whatever those outside things provided for him. The Sweet Gum tree was his favorite and I have lots of photos of him “wearing” a hat of leaves. Poor sweet BJ. Maybe he had to stay under things outside. I bought a hat recently and put it beside him. He tucked his head under it right away. I keep it out for him and he likes to nap with his head under the hat. I’d bring in a Sweet Gum tree for him if I could get one in the house. They’re just too big. I did try transplanting a small one but I don’t think I got the whole root system. If I can gather some seed, I’ll try again. It would be nice to see him curled up under the leaves again. I wonder too if maybe the kitties he protected cuddled him or kittens climbed on him and he missed that when he was the last cat outside.

This was the first time I ever saw BJ behave in a kittenish manner. He actually plays with the strap on the hat. It’s the only thing he sees as a “toy” besides my phone cord.

I let him crawl under whenever he decides he wants to be there.

N NY cat man I know what you mean about the ER! Lol Of all the cats that have come into my life, Lady is the only one I would ever have imagined would actually like a harness. Even then, our first attempt was done gingerly. The rest of the kitties might eat me! I am quite sure the Bengal boys would be furious and insulted. Mackie would probably shred it and me! I’m happy that they enjoy having me give pets and head scratches. Belly rubs are a true privilege. We do what they love and no more.

If I were to guess BJ's body language, I would guess that he used things over is head for camouflage. I think that was BJ's way of hiding and protecting himself.
Just a guess,
Jane

He looks rather stylish, that old hat would be great for sailing, it'd make a statement on the water, LOL... ⛵
Well hi sidewinder! BJ days ,” Thank you!” I agree that it would be a great sailing hat. I like being on the water and in jungle or woods and it’s a great hat for all of that. We’ve already decided that BJ is a bit of a dashing Romeo fellow. Anything to impress his ladies. He protected the ladies of his colony and still loves them all. Lol He’s quite a character.

He knows how to win them over. Mitsy is one from the colony that was mother to his kittens.

Any cat that can look that dashing in an old hat can impress the ladies.

J JaneLuvsCats I expect he did use the trees as camouflage. He always led the other cats into the trees when danger was near. In fact, he even tried to keep me in the swamp when any humans came around. He’s an amazing cat.

Those are some STELLAR photos -- how loving he is with his ladies! Almost like our roosters, T.O.G. and Robert, with their harim. He looks wistful in so many of his photos, too -- if only we could understand Cattish! His personality reminds me of our beloved angel Calo's -- he turned up in our yard in S. E. Monte with adolescents Tim and Rojita, and guarded them without fail. When he came inside, he was very protective of Rojita and of many in our furmily. (Tim went to Best Friends and was adopted by a lady who came from Vancouver, B.C. to visit the Sanctuary -- he lived a wonderful long, happy, healthy and loved life and I've written of him elsewhere here on the site.)
I've never heard of a potted Sweet Gum, unfortunately -- it would be so wonderful if one could grow like that indoors!

You know how great kitties can be since you have experienced such loving babies too. Some are born to be guardians among us. Human and cats. I am grateful to both. :touched:

I was going around the house tonight to just get some candid cat shots. Nothing was really happening here and the cats seemed settled. A non eventful day at Chez Catbird.

Those are some incredible photos of Precious! Twenty pounds? :shocked:My mom's Siamese boy, the original Samuda in our family, used to climb up her legs to her back and all the way to her shoulder when she was doing dishes -- I don't think he weighed 20 pounds but he was quite a presence! :eek3:

My ex loved bonsai and he bought several for us. Unfortunately, even though we bought books and asked pros about them, none of them survived. We had a bonsai black pine, sago palm, maple, and snow rose. I was very upset that they did not thrive, and asked him not to get any more because whatever the magic touch required to keep them alive, we clearly did not have it.

tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 I’m glad Precious jumped up instead of climbing! Ouch! I’ve had lots of kittens climb up but most of the bigger kitties jump. Kittens have needle claws but cats have daggers! As a child I can remember laughing because I had a floor length bath robe and the kittens would just hang on for a ride as I walked around. It gave me a fur “coat of many colors!” Lol I also remember wearing bell bottom pants and having a kitten go inside the bell! Kitties!
Bonsai were a part of my plant business at one time. Some were very old too. I found starting the process on growing and training them as a young plant made them easier to grow than getting one that was already established. They do require very special kinds of care and it varies greatly from one kind of plant to another. I do love that they are sort of a miniature world. I found orchids were much less care intensive though. Even the type of pot and the glaze used on the pot matters with Bonsai culture. It’s a beautiful art form but I wouldn’t get back into it again.

Mamanyt1953 Mamanyt1953 I share your problem at times but I forget what it was! :headscratch: ;) To make it this far we have to be tough cookies!

N NY cat man Miss Eleanor did that before when she was running loose? That must have been a surprise! Lol She was trying to decide if she wanted to hitch her way inside. Lol Obviously she made up her mind so maybe she doesn’t need to do that anymore. Smart lady! :winkcat:

tabbytom tabbytom It does take some strength to give a good massage. Precious certainly has that. When he got his name I never dreamed he would become such a giant. He was part of a litter of feral babies that I lured in by calling,” Come on Precious ones!” He always responded first so the name stuck. He’s just a big baby now. Lol I think I could use that back massage after giving him a piggyback ride! :flail:He is trained in a combination of back massage with acupuncture.

Kitty excuses! He’s so quick he must have wings. I think I lost a small corner. I stood up to eat the cake. Sometimes I have to wonder if Banjo and Whistle are pure kitty of part human toddler. Cake and Frosted Flakes? Dad tried to steal Krispy Kreme, Muffin and Lady steal Cheetos. I guess I just have to cut out all junk food. I wonder if they would eat rice cakes? Uhhhh, oh well. I probably wouldn’t either.
I’m going back to fruit. 🍐 Oh. Wait. Last year they got into that box of pears......

I think I’ll hide some cat food inside the Angel food cake! :insertevillaugh:

Have a great night everyone! :wavey::heartshape:

Oh, yes; Miss Eleanor hung around our house for over a year before she joined us inside, and whenever I was working in the yard or garden, she would be right there. If I was kneeling down, she would climb onto my lap and lay there, and several times she climbed onto my back and laid there. Unfortunately, no one was around with a camera to record it. Now, she just settles for cuddling next to me at night, or on Michele's lap if mine isn't available.

That reminded me of the time I went to a friend's place, and was standing in their front porch, when their kitten climbed right up my pant leg. I had to take my jacket off so my friend could pry the kitten off my back!

Interesting to read about your bonsai expertise. I've never really cared for them but my ex thought they were necessary for us. I felt very badly when they did not survive. Poor little twisted plants!
Angel Food cake is for cats, isn't it? Cats are angelic beings here on earth, after all. As for rice cakes, if you got some with bonito flakes on top, I'm pretty sure they'd be interested!
