Well, when I first started trying to get BJ, I teased that he might try to eat me.
But who could resist that little heart shaped tongue and beautiful face?
View attachment 312207
Today he has snuggling with several of us when he got a funny look on his face.
View attachment 312208
He roused from his nap and looked at my hand.....
View attachment 312209
Then decided to see how I taste. Lol
View attachment 312210
He sampled a bit ,but quickly let go....
View attachment 312211
It seems he prefers cat treats. He didn’t eat me after all.
View attachment 312212
I heard his tummy rumble so I knew it was time for me to feed everyone some supper and I decided to turn over tonights’ thread to the cats. Whistle didn’t want to type here tonight.
View attachment 312213
He was dreaming of his kitty Princess.
View attachment 312214
Thrasher was relaxed as she dreamed too, what else could I do?
View attachment 312215
Thrasher wake up. I need an extra paw.
View attachment 312216
Unh.
View attachment 312217
Can you take some photos for the thread?
View attachment 312218
She was still half asleep and her first shot was her tummy but she started to snap some more.
View attachment 312219
No Banjo around so I gave Thrasher the chore.
View attachment 312220
She hit the selfie button next.
View attachment 312221
Ohhh! So this is my face?!?!
View attachment 312222

I look pretty good!
View attachment 312224
No wonder Banjo steals the phone!
View attachment 312225

I could become a famous photographer!
View attachment 312223
What can you see on a drizzly gray day? I should have guessed a cat might see birds. Lol
View attachment 312226
She did pretty well for her first time with the camera.
View attachment 312227
Then she caught Purry and Muffin alone.
View attachment 312229
I had to laugh after I came to see what she’d done.
My favorite shot is the smile in this very last this one.
View attachment 312230
It’s nice to have kitties around to help out. Mom needed a break for tonight.
This post is not by Banjo!

Signed, Thrasher :greenpaw:
Each and every cat is unique, beautiful (and/or handsome) and so, so helpful, yes? ;)
Tarifa doesn't cover, either. I've read that dominant cats don't and even though she's the smallest and the eldest, friendly to everyone and easy-going, she must rule with a (clean) velvet paw.

Dominance in animals has very little to do with size, and everything to do with force of will! Although dominance in cats is very different than dominance in dogs (and I know I'm preaching to the choir, here). Dogs are pack animals, of course, and look to their alpha for leadership and guidance. That attitude is just laughable in cats! In cats, dominance, so far as I can observe, seems to be a matter of deference in such things as best sleeping spot, etc.

N NY cat man Thst would have been a sweet name. As in ,”My Darling Clementine!” :redheartpump:

tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 She does have a velvet paw.

Mamanyt1953 Mamanyt1953 In a house full, I think some of the kitties try to own the most recently cleaned litter box and don’t cover. Precious will run ahead of Purry or Bonnie to be first in the box. Other times he does cover so I have wondered if it was a way of marking the clean box as his. Lol It seems to work since both the others will not follow but maybe they just don’t want to risk an open pit! :running:Either way, Precious wins until I scoop!

After talking about Bonjure the other night I started wondering just how big his paws really are compared to the other kitties. They look like giant paws! Have you ever tried to hold your kitty’s paw? The first thing they do is to give you a puzzled look. The second thing is to pull back their paw. I tried just looking at paws but decided that I might be able to get the kitties to play with a yardstick since that wasn’t working.

Oh! Bj has big paws.

Whistle liked playing.

The yardstick just made him go for the spring toy. Lol He wouldn’t hold still. Lol

Thrasher! A lady like paw!

She must be a Cinderella waiting for her glass slipper because she actually put her paw on the yardstick.

Then she laid down on it!

Don’t listen to her Flowers! She isn’t trying to play, she’s going to put a stick under your foot! Run!

What do you mean , the other way?

Mom, it measures the same from toe down no matter which way you put the stick.

She’s got you there! Never argue with the logic of a cat.

This was interesting! It looks like Bonnie really does have the biggest paws with Precious following in his footsteps. Bj is about the same as Precious. I have no idea how wide Banjos paws are!:bluepaw: At any rate, the kitties thought this was a fun game. Bonjure is now proud of his paws but he still remained inside the crate until Precious left the area. Personally, I think he just likes being the baby!;)

Have a great night everyone!:heartshape:

Now how do I make a Cinderella slipper for Thrasher? She’s still waiting.

Yup, I've tried to hold Ruby's paw. She, however, skips the puzzled look step, and goes straight to pulling her paw away. :catman:

A yardstick! I haven't seen one of them in years! All I have is a plastic ruler, and a measuring tape. 📏

Jcatbird Jcatbird Elvis has humungus liger paws (liger because he's a Living Room Lion, with stripes), while Tarifa's are tiny and tapered (a sure sign of "meezer" lineage) and Baby Su's are somewhere in between.
rubysmama rubysmama I have a yardstick that's probably close to antique, very nice laquered wood and with some hardware store's ad on the reverse! It can come in handy sometimes.

So true, Mamanyt1953 Mamanyt1953 and certainly Tarifa has PLENTY of force of will! She wins friends and influences people -- of whatever species -- through charm.

rubysmama rubysmama You can still get yardsticks at fabric stores and hardware stores. They are very helpful when measuring things that like cloth that you need more than a ruler but a tape measure is too flexible. Things like kitty paws too. They would have walked off with a tape measure.

tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 I have an older yardstick that was designed for quilting. It decorated with very cute designs although it’s not an antique, it’s not a recent item.
Tarifa and Hekitty probably share the dominance gene. Some kitties do rule with an iron paw. Lol

I may not be on site tonight. I’ll try but have some family stuff that I need to attend to. I’ll be back be tomorrow evening either way.
Sending love and purrs now!:heartshape::purr:

My parents used to have a couple old yardsticks, but don't know what happened to them when the house was sold.

Looks like many suggestions are made and a vet's visit is done. Can't think of any suggestion as most were covered.

EDIT " Actually I did reply after posting this but I left a disclaimer there as I'm not sure it works.

So...how long did it take to measure all those kitty paws? I haven't, to my deep shame, measured Hek's, but she has a tiny, delicate paw (and it would be worth my life to say otherwise!).

You know what they say about cats with big paws...THEY LEAVE BIG PAW PRINTS IN THE BUTTER!

I deeply thank everyone here who responded to Bookish1 Bookish1 to offer help. tabbytom tabbytom Furballsmom Furballsmom rubysmama rubysmama Mamanyt1953 Mamanyt1953 and the others who helped, you got that kitten through a tough night and now it has a much better chance. It was hard for me to leave the kitty on the site late last night but I needn’t have worried. There are so many great people here to help! Thank you so much! I was very relieved to find the new posts. The PM’s last night had left me very anxious. I think things are in a much better place now. TCS rocks! :redheartpump::clap2::goldstar:

tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 I see you were at the thread too! Thank you!

Mamanyt1953 Mamanyt1953 I’m not really surprise you have not measured a Hekitty paw. I just measured Bonjure out of curiosity. Lol I should say, tried to measure. Lol Thrasher liked it though.
I cracked up about the paw prints in butter! If I left butter out it would have paw prints and tongue prints.

I’ve been extra busy here working on some family things but also trying to assist in a kitty rescue. I should know the outcome soon but still busy with that. The cats always know when we are a little rushed. Lol

We started out slow this morning. Purry Como was still snuggled down.

Back asking for good wishes, hopes and vibes for someone traveling through a storm with a kitty. They have stopped to rest but still have a distance to travel and it’s supposed to start snowing. They are okay right now. I’ll update as I know but they should have arrived today and now it looks like tomorrow. Guardians deserve our praise! This one has been very determined. :vibes::redheartpump::crossfingers:
